General Discussion / Re: Pakistan to CIA: Hit the road, Jack

Do you want to know what bugs me? The America wrong or wrong, perspective. Would you like to know the benefits of America taking her place as a global superpower? Spending a metric crapton on directly rebuilding Europe? Like not "we'll loan you money" or "we'll have American business build shit" but "take our fucking money and unfuck yourselves, please."
I, humble "anti-american" as I am, always point out to my fellow Swedes when they become stupid in their ranting, that the USA funded the creation of our wellfare state after WWII, even though we had almost nothing to do with it, and for what little we were involved could as well be considered semi-pro-Germany as the opposite. So no, it is not forgotten. But it does not somehow absolve you from criticism of other actions, and critique will always come easier and in bigger quantity than praise.

What bad has America perpetrated.
From the top of my head; funding Al-Qaeda, backing Augusto Pinochet. Seriously, Urist, USA has done a lot of good, but don't open this can of worms because it will never close.

At the very least, you can take solace in that she has been caught by the safety-net. Far too many slip through without anyone noticing.
As for your dad, there's really only one thing I could possibly say with my limited experience, and I think you and your family already might have tried convincing him to join AA or your equivalent...

I took the driving test three times before I passed. I was definitely most nervous  the third time. Not to mention up-given about the whole thing. Yet it was the best run.

Ninja'd by issues. About anti-depressants, I can only speak for myself, but I've been on several anti-depps and the 'only' effects they had was stopping me from wanting to kill myself as well as giving me some more energy. Before I go on though, I really need to know from where you heard that it'll mess with her, just hearsay or a qualified doctor/psykiatrist/whatever the correct English term is?

Ninja'd again. Is she really talking abou this particular medication? Because to me, it sounds like she's blowing the whole thing out of proportion. Is this your sisters first prescription? I find it very unlikely that anyone would ascribe her that a drug heavy heavy enough to 'fuck her up' as a first try.

Life Advice / Re: Pro-Choice Abortion Info needed for debate

You're completely missing the point.
I was talking from the doctors' perspective. If they believe they're putting out a life, it's understandable that they would not like doing it. Hence it being hypocritical to send the woman to an unsafe environment and risking her life as well. Do you not understand that these people have feelings too? Do you not realise that from our perspective it might be "preventing an unwanted pregnancy", but from theirs it will be forced euthanasia and murder?

Well, to be fair, performing an abortion would be a horrible experience if you believe you're putting out a life (or even just the potential of life). And I guess the law/hospital doesn't actually force/require them to do it? If so, it's really their choice if they want to or not.

That said, sending women into back alley abortions seems rather hypocritical of them.

I might be streaming Metal Saga tomorrow. Not so sure if it's the best stream material, and I can't talk myself due to being possibly mute. But It's mostly just because I want that friends sitting on the couch talking about games feeling. No set schedule. Ill probably play far too long at that since we're doing a fresh file.
What is this "Metal Saga"?

I read a book once that had a footnote that took up the bottom half of two pages.
Was it Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrel l, perhaps? It did that stuff several times, often to tell folk tales the characters would be familiar with but the reader wouldn't.

You people realize there is real, objective science on this stuff and that you just look silly opinioning about it on forums, right?

Don't leave it at foo exists.  Tell us what foo is.  Enlighten us.

Also, this forum needs a thread dedicated solely to Armok pontificating on various subjects.  Call it "The Word of Armok:  A Font of Wisdom in a Time of Lunacy".
Don't be an ass.

I assume that by "talk", she/you means berate, correct? Fuck, that people can have such complete lack of self criticism. The stupidity is beyond words.

The point (I though was pretty obvious >.>) is that when I hit the logout tab it dumps me to the main page still logged in.

I don't actually want to logout I was just checking
Damn my slow typing! Just a few minutes too late to make a "why would you ever want to leave us" comment!

Yes, you can combine them, although even then your telekinesis only adds about a hundred pounds of force at max level. Your jaws and head muscles are actually strong enough to wield the warhammer without the telekinesis, you mostly use it to help you control it and eliminate the penalties you would get from using a weapon not geared towards your race. Although it does mean even if you lose your grip, you still have control over it.

Also, you've got 3 levels, and the penalty is -3 untrained, reduced by one per level. Your current penalty is zero (unless your trying to use multiple objects at once). Plus having the physical component is nice because with Strong, you do an additional point of damage. ;)
I see. I thought the -3 was for level one. This is good.
I can't really imagine swinging a weapon with my mandibles either, though. But if you say I can, then I'll definitely do that ^^

Quote
and yes, they do have sort of hooks on their feet, but they couldn'y wield a warhammer and I cannot physically imagine how you could position yourself in combat to actually swing a warhammer that way even if you could :P
Your gripping appendage is your two rows of mandibles.
I stand up on my two pairs of hind legs, of course. :P
It also enables me to attack people behind me by falling on them shell-first, then grinding them into the ground as I wiggle back and forth trying to get on my feet again.

..Seriously, though, I couldn't either.

19618
I guess I just assumed he had some kind of appendages capable of gripping... They do have hook-/-claws at the end of their legs, don't they? ;)
Swinging it with telekinesis is all good, though. But didn't you forget my -1 on Telekinesis rolls yesterday? Because I don't remember you subtracting it from my rolls.

But the question remains, if I say were in the position where I had to move a boulder, would I be able to use my awesome - but physical - beetle rolling abilities and reinforce them with telekinesis? Or rather, I guess, would I be able to add my physical rolling abilities to my telekinesis?

Strangely, I just noticed the same happening to me. Getting logged out.

Well, my grandpa died last night. That makes me sad.

Was sick, got worse, then just died. Never really knew him well though, he wasnt a "Take me to the park" grandpa, but more like a "hey, here's a quarter I found" grandpa.
My condolences. I've lost three out four grandparents, and it's hard to loose them even if you aren't very close to them. In my experience, at least.

edit:gods, the spelling...
