Bleh

Just finished reading up on BtSDLB.  I am not feeling so good about how damned shippy it's gotten.  Too much actual ship, not enough ship-teasing.

Also, I sort of feel like there's a lot of Very Special Episode going on.

Not even done with it yet and its possibly too shippy for me.  Though it's hard to say, since I want it to be a story about Eridan getting his matesprit and kismesis.  Plus, I just hate Gamzee so much, so his surgery made me happy.  And I wasn't too happy about Vriska taking such a major role for so long, and she's my favorite troll.  I would have liked her better in the story if she was a background character, with her actions being implied.  And occassionally, there are some really good jokes and that helps keep me interested.

Oh, as for that song, I'm guessing Vriska's high pitched since she's supposed to be a little girl in that song.  Gonna either get back to reading or go to bed now.

And he just said that the ones who are still alive are going to meet up with the ones who are dead, though it's only sort of surprising.  Even with her permanent death, I didn't expect Vriska to really be permanently dead forever.  After all, she has a face.

What kind of problems are you having? The world won't generate/crashes, your civ/trolls die out, something different?

Right off the bat I can see you didn't assign any male/female tags (would probably go best where you define blood colors). This means they won't reproduce.

Is this in its own file? If so, you'll need to name the file creature_*.txt, and the very first lines of the file need to be creature_* and then [OBJECT:CREATURE]. Same goes for your civ - though in that case it's entity_*.txt, entity_* at the top, and [OBJECT:ENTITY]. (Replace * with whatever you want, as long as it's the same between the file name and the first line.)

Damn it.  Well at least I learned a couple things.  I need to check my work better because I thought I'd added the male/female tags back in.  Also, a civ need to be able to reproduce in order to exist at all apparently.  I was getting an error saying there were no civilizations or something during worldgen.  Adding that little bit seems to have fixed at least one problem, though it seems my entity may still be broken.  Or maybe I was saving something wrong the whole time.  I did a little clean up, and now the only entity in my newly genned world's files is the one I've made, and it works mostly. 

And I guess that if more than one entity uses the same creature, they don't show up in the list of creatures that have access to you.  That's all I can assume because I had the original entity and my new one both accessing the same creature, and it was only showing up once on the list.  They must have been saved wrong or something before though, because when it was only my entity and aqizzar's trolls, I still got the a pop up saying that worldgen failed  due to lack of civs as soon as it reached the point where it would begin placing them.

I know how to save files, mostly.  I had a bit of trouble with b_detail_plan ones, but that was from thinking it was body_detail_plan, and it's important that it's only "b_".

This is... very silly. By that logic, single-player games aren't games, because they aren't competition. Please don't use the first generic dictionary definition of the word "game" to make any sort of argument when we're obviously talking about a particular medium that uses the appellation. That isn't productive or useful.

Single player games can easily be competitions.  All you have to do is have some way of keeping and comparing scores.  Other than that, I agree that the dictionary definition isn't what's being discussed.

Wouldn't it only be ironic if you drank it because it was a hipster drink but didn't like it?  If you actually like it, I don't think you can drink it ironically, unless going against irony is the exact purpose of drinking something you like that some people might drink ironically.  As for what counts as hipster... idk, whatever hipsters are drinking.  I don't even know what counts as a hipster, except that it apparently involves liking stuff that you aren't supposed to like, either because you're not supposed to or because it genuinely is cool.

If 64oz is 1.9 liters, why would anybody even buy it, except to mix obscene amounts of soda.  A 2 liter bottle is almost certainly cheaper.  At least, with certain kinds of soda.  Which are probably the kinds you can't get in fountains anyway.  And there isn't the feeling that you have to drink it all in one sitting.  Which kind of makes me think that if I bought a 64 oz soda, it'd take me no more than an hour to drink it, and I can't begin to figure out how I could draw it out for 3 hours short of forgetting that I have it and leaving it somewhere.  When I buy 44 oz ones, which is much less frequent now, it's still gone within 30 minutes.  I'm amazed by the fact that I would sometimes drink two of those a day.

The bisexuality thing, for me at least, is because I think I'd probably feel more comfortable around guys if I had some sort of attraction to them.  And also because I consider sex and sexuality to be completely appropriate ways for two people to express how they feel about each other.

I don't think Cherry Coke is ironic, and it certainly isn't an energy drink.  I do worry that my intense love for Cream Soda may be ironic though.
Ok, I'D be embarrassed by it, but I'm kind of sensitive about that kind of thing.  I'm almost certainly just projecting my own personality on others.

I can see the sentiment behind this, but I honestly doubt it. If you mean that Homophobia would drop, well, look at all the Vehemently Anti-Gay men who end up being gay, just so far in the closet that they not only hate themselves but other gay people by comparison. I mean like in the first place. If everyone was already naturally attracted to both sexes, and that was a fundamentally accepted thing in every society like being straight is for most, being gay or bi or other things wouldn't be "different" or "wrong" because it's already what's there for people and society. There would be no reason for the anti gay sentiment in the first place.

So glad I'm not the only person who actually wants to be bi.  And I do think that it'd be better if everybody was naturally bi, or at least inclined to be.


I had to figure out how to put on a condom on my own, so I'm not sure I did it right every time.  Kinda wish that education on it was more common, but it would also be really, really embarrassing.  Mostly, I'm just glad I dated a smart girl who got on birth control way before we did anything.  One of her friends wasn't on birth control, and wouldn't make her boyfriend use a condom, so I got to hear lots of "so-and-so is scared she might be pregnant" though nothing ever came of it.  Honestly, you'd think after all the stressful scares, "it doesn't feel as good" would stop being a viable excuse not to use a condom.  And she wouldn't get on birth control because she was terrified of admitting to her parents that she was having sex.

Some filmmakers are embracing this idea of movies being designed to be consumed ironically, while other filmmakers are just making shitty movies. And the frustrating thing is that there is no observable difference between the two. Once upon a time, I could finish watching a trailer and my only thought would either be "That was good" or "That was bad." Now, I watch most trailers and I just scratch my head, thinking, "Hey, filmmakers: Did you really mean that? Do you think shooting a movie where Nicolas Cage has sex on a motorcycle while he shoots machine guns is a genuinely good idea, or a patently ridiculous (and therefore 'ironically' good) idea? Is any of this a joke?"

And, unrelated(maybe?), does anybody have the picture of Equius forbidding Nepeta from roleplaying while Vriska feeds people to her spider?  I saw it in this thread somewhere, promptly forgot to save it, and have no idea what kind of discussion was going on then.
