Tiring to remember the encounters we did I think have flying enemies, so you can imagine and also bug the techics about it.
 This would work.
After all if you seen the tech on the enemy maybe you would want to use it so could imagine it.
Just don't take it as fact smiles.

After all it is a soldiers desire to have better tech even if only seen on the enemy.

well you can always do recaps like a log talking about your pass since you came to the place  and maybe thoughts as to how you do in future missions

sort of like a where you came form and where might i be going thought is one sence  or other ideas

a general day to day log is another just recaping

there is many types one can do

say writing it as one is checking out there equipment to  or looking at the base as they do a walk throu thinking about things that happened to it

we have the info to know where one is and what one has  so we can build on them  hope it helps people with ideas

has a idea for us all to work on that might help while we wait we could for those of us whom have characters do back logs sort of works on logs to catch up on the INBETWEEN mission sert up sort of downlogs for our toons

this would keep activity going
and bring up ideas for others to play on

just a idea on it

Computer log - personal entry - Zilvara - Head of Research

"Testing, testing. Is this contraption on? Ah yes, good, let's see today we had an unexpected visitor. His name was doctor Ross McFarlen. It was quite funny when the doctor entered and almost began screaming fire! He ran for the booth I was in at the time, you would think he knew we were testing things in here. All I was doing was taking a walk through fire! We were testing one of the new armor's capabilities. The prototype I was wearing was a little bulky though and was not intended to be the final version. It is amazing how much we were able to integrate in to these suits, we included sensors to feed to a bio-read-out display so that we can monitor the vital signs of the soldiers more closely. We had to end our test early once Ross came in as most of the team stopped working to calm Dr. Ross down. By the time I came out of the testing room's outer doors and had removed the helmet Dr. Ross was sitting down at a table, surrounded by my research team."

"Thankfully Dr. Fin Knick had calmed him down some and was explaining a bit of what was happening in the testing room when I had finally made it over to them."

"I had a nice chat with Dr. Ross and explained that we were testing new armor we had developed and this was one of the final prototypes. I told him it would not be long before we worked on the condensed version. This one had extra precautions to it that the final version wouldn't have; namely we couldn't add the oxygen unit to the final suit without making it too bulky and hard to move in. Dr. Fin Knick was able to explain to the Dr. Ross that we are very concerned with the safety of our troops and had been working hard at developing this armor. Dr. Fin took the Dr. Ross to see the designs for the armor to show him what we had been doing. Beside the designs was pictures of the burns that troops had received so far. Dr. Ross asked about them. I explained to him that they were incentives to remind us down here what we were up against. I told him that we may not be on the front lines but our efforts down here directly affect their efforts up there. I told him that we were not just making newer and bigger weapons."

"Our goal is to protect and empower our soldiers. If that means giving them better weapons then so be it (not that we mind). but it also means giving them the protection they need to come back alive and protect the innocent. I asked Dr. Ross; If we didn't test these suits, how could we be sure that they were safe for the troops. The doctor looked at at me for a moment like I was nuts and I giggled at him and smiled."

"Now that we have a medical doctor here we can widen our scope of research. I already have some ideas for him to look over. But how to help Dr. Ross catch up to on all our findings? hmmm... I will have to have one of the researchers sit down with him and bring him up to speed. I'll get Dr. Fin Knick to do this, he has a good background in medicine."

"I played a practical joke on the commander when she came to view our prototype armor in person. We brought out one of the earlier designs, a heavy and bulky design that incorporated just about everything we could think of. It was air tight, fire proof, shock resistant, bullet proof, reflective, had it's own air supply and covered every square centimeter of the wearer. Unfortunately the suit was also upwards of about 300 pounds and not suitable for field work. Commander Anya looked about ready to flip as we went on and on about the suit's capabilities, it was hard to keep a straight face. As she was ready to leave the room, the scientist that had designed the final version walked into the room wearing his work. We proceeded to demonstrate the real personal armor for the poor commander."

"Commander Anya had us shift our focus onto the psionics line of research we had put on the back burner. With the promise of a celebration once the first suits rolled off the production line, we eagerly got to work."

"We have had another unexplained explosion in the lab this week. While I'll be the last to restrict researchers from working with volatile materials, They will need to either confess their accidents or keep a closer eye on their experiments."

*a series of explosions can be heard in the background*
"I told you not to mix those chemicals together Frank! We're not ready for the party till the armor is finished being made in the workshop! Not before, do you want to jinx it?!"

END LOG

it okies ram if youu want do what i do react to what you see think of your self in that situation and your back at base and having to reacount what happened i basicly do that , what did i do and what happened

frig i want to kick them in the bottom and so on or something else think of what your toon had happened you probly want to kick alien ass to comment on how your part in the mission went or what you thought of other toons in how they react to you,  what do you do off hours and so on, roleplaying is a play on what you see and what you react to, you can also do the  create possiblities in to a roleplay but making something up but in this case i would say the first 2 parts would work for you in this

"Computer log for what ever the heck day it is. Hmmm... Let see what to say to this stupid machine. Ah yes, it has been so hectic of-late, better catch up on events over this past while. We have been working so hard on our research, we didn’t want to screw it up. Trying not to make holes as I been receiving complaints lately from some people. How am I and my team supposed to work this granny-cracker slowly and steadily? They complain over and over and over that they need this new technology NOW and constantly ask for new toys to kill the evil alien villains with. They then expect us to not have any explosions or accidents and keep it nice and clean. Come on! Don’t they realize we have keep the danger to a minimum with no serious explosions at all? Better then any other research group ever could with our results."

"Hmmm... Now that I think about it, it doesn’t seem to be the soldiers or command staff complaining about us. Possibly it's some of the engineers. They're the only one left I can think of who would make complaints. Well tough luck to them."

"Next item I need to catch up on. The darn firing test; I mean come on, just because I have a laser Derringer for safety, they made me take a frigging test. Talk about embarrassing. They sent two security guys down and told me I had to report to the firing range. I told them I was busy, couldn't they see I was in the middle of an experiment? But NOOOO they wouldn’t take no for an answer and almost dragged me to the firing range. They could have waited, I told them I was overseeing an experiment! shortly after I left, I was told later, the table blew up because I wasn’t there to monitor the experiment. The security guys said that they had to escort me to the firing range as it was mandatory. when I arrived I was told that I need to do a weapons firing test to see how accurate I was. Like duh, I know how good I am, I don’t need them to tell me I suck. Besides it is not like I am fit to go into the field, I'm not fit for that."

"Besides I have my experiments to deal with. All the awesome toys here to play with. Who wants to go out there and deal with loud, stupid people running around and wreaking the experiments and research. The soldiers have enough problems with the civilians as it is with their retrieval. I'm not fit for this type of work, didn’t they read my physical? I mean they had me do a exercise course of all things! I was a little pissed and almost shot one of the guys who told me it was required. Although I did get a good hit on him with a pop can, right on the back of the head from across the room. That helped me relax a little but they decided to test my bravery. The idiots at school did worse than these guys did. I've been dealing with perverts and bullies all my life so I could care less about their games, I ignored them. I couldn’t be bothered, they said I was scared but who cares what they think. I'm here for research, not to go hoping on one foot every time someone says jump."

"The guards asked me why I had my derringer pistol. I told them, smiling nicely, that it was to scare off naughty little boys who go poking their heads into ladies rooms where they're not welcome. The two guards that brought me to the firing range looked at each other and gulped. I turned back to the instructor that had been testing me. He said if  I was done with my threats, I could go back to work. I was already set back a whole day on my research and if the commander didn’t like it then she could blame herself! I found out later that they put in the report that I was not brave. Phooey to them, they can all go take a flying leap in to a pond. I think they also wanted to take my pistol away form me. If they tried it, they would regret it. I would stomp on their toes and give them a good kick in the shin."

"I think the instructor had a talk to the guards, as after-wards security was a little nicer to me and helped out a little more. Seems I earned some respect from the instructor. I guess it was not all bad, the testing was fun itself. the delay to my research was patched up with the help of some of the security guards. When I present the testing report to commander Anya I mentioned that we were making great progress with the alien weapons and would soon understand them more completely."

"On that topic I have to thank, sadly in a way, the tank pilots for the info they got us on alien weapon fire at the expense of their tanks."

"I think the rest of the base thought we were hiding something. In a way we had been. It had been explained to the researchers that we should not show off stuff ahead of time, so as to not bring unfounded hopes for something we don’t have yet. One or two of our researchers are, in there off time, playing with designs for a new remote heavy weapons platform interface. Maybe I should give them permission to show the remote pilots of the tanks the designs, maybe it might pick up there moral some. I will have to ask the commander if they can upgrade the tank pilots interface units.  They came up with some nice designs that might let the tank pilots feel more as if there in the action with pivot and turning units, coupled with a tank layout for the control base. The researchers got the idea off the games that some play in their off time as to feel more at ease with the controls. It's an interesting side project that might make them feel better about not being in the field. We can use some of the old parts from damaged tanks so it will not cost the commander anything. I believe she has been stressed about the budget so far."

"Speaking of which; It has been a pain to have to lose some research possibilities to the "bounty" system but the commander is trying to keep us up and running. Some of the researchers are trying to watch for side ideas to maybe find something else we can make money on that will not take too much time to develop. But so far the stuff brought back from the clean up crew has no recreational or economical use. We will keep a eye out for exceptions."

"One of the soldiers came back form he hospital early." Zilvara giggles to herself. "I can see he shares my love of medical facilities, which is to say not at all. He hosted a party where he and others had fun blowing off steam. We at the labs really wanted to join in. He let us join in the fun after I convinced him of the fun to be had with expiring chemicals "needed” to be used. The event helped relieve a lot of tension in the ranks down here as we don’t get to have a lot of fun with out getting told off for wreaking stuff with explosions like these. They are only harmless, explosive, chemicals used for a bit of fun, I don't see what the problem is."

"Once we were done figuring out the alien weapons, Anya supported further work on armor for the troops. She listened to the info I gave her on taking a new approach to personal armor. Just piling on layers and layers of armor until soldiers resembled beach balls was not the answer. We finally get to play with the alien alloys. The team is excited to say the least, seems one or to of them have found troops they like or have a crush on. I think some of them have been nice to us in general. Some of our creative people have also been designing a look for the armor in their off time, and it looks neat. These tests with the alloy will hopefully let us make some of their designs."

"Well on to further updates. Commander Anya brought in someone to act as second command finally. She was almost a walking ghost lately with bags that would hit the floor under her eyes. Lets hope this guy is half as good as she is. We will see, he better not try and run my research team or else he will regret it. I only answer to Anya no one else period."

Zilvara looks around the base as the soldiers are out on there mission and sighs as she takes a walk around looking at the different areas and thinking that they really  might have a problem with this if the troops are out where is the defense for the base..

planning thou the thought as she heads from each room she comes up with a thought of filing a report of this to the commander as it would bring up problems with the base if the soldiers where out on a mission and no one was here to protect the base personal from a attack on everyone here at base.

heading in to the firing range she checks to see no one is even near this area and pulls out her little item that the engineers cooked up and figures it was worth it to get some practice in and sets up a target and spends some time tiring it out before smiling and putting it away later and heads out of the range quietly leaving behind the target and a neat tight grouping at a good distance shot. Forgetting to put away the target so that to leave no evidence behind

Zilvara looks over her lab and rubs her hands together, grinning. “Computer, personal log please.”
Her PDA springs to life and replies. “Log open, please record now.”

"Today is a great day, we get to play with the object we have taken to calling the "mind probe". The toy that every researcher has wanted to play with for generations. We're going to be the first and only team to get it to work. Yeppies I know the gang here has been itching to get their hands on it for ages and I just got the go ahead from the commander to do so." Zilvara can barely container her excitement as she records her log, she paces about her quarters quickly, moving from side project to side project.

"We will find out what makes the device tick. I'm concerned about that touching it gives a  bit of a buzz. I think one of them might be a bit battered and is malfunctioning, at least I assume it is. A few people have touched it and complained of possible nightmares after-wards. I will have to work on limiting exposure to it but the others seem to suffer no ill effects after touching it. Perhaps this is being caused by the damaged example as there is a break along the surface. The others are clear of imperfections. I will have to get anyone, who has touched the damaged device, checked in-case they have also suffered ill effects."

"One of the researchers brought to my attention that the commander sold off potential research objects and cadavers to the funding nations. I'm a little erked that the commander would take away valuable testing and research material before we have had time to fully examine them. We had to rush to record the data before the subjects were sold off. This caused delays in our research progress in other areas. If the commander is upset on that, she will have to deal with it. We can’t afford lose such valuable research resources even for any amount of financial gain."

"On to further business, we had a presentation by Archangel and Cerapa. The presentation was about the explosive devices we use, in order of effectiveness. This was very enlightening to watch but it makes me a little erked after I think about the destruction I saw to the base area they used. When I think of the complains that the base personnel gave us, in the laboratories, over a few holes from a misfire. They complain about our research being noisy or destructive and yet here they damage stuff outright in front of everyone. Men, can’t live with them, can’t shoot them. But the demonstration was enlightening and entertaining to watch."

"The auto cannon they showed off was good for flat out destruction. I hope that in the future we can find a more controlled weapon for our soldiers to use so they are able to do their job, but destroys less of the valuable alien equipment. We can’t afford to just destroy everything and gain nothing in return. We would quickly lose this conflict in that frame of mind. The next weapon in the presentation was the grenade. The grenade has possibilities, but in battle the accuracy would be less than desired and could cause friendly fire. We must improve this weapon if possible or find a  better way to give the user more control of the explosive. This might not really work as it is still an area damage weapon, but I want to keep our soldiers alive. They're valuable to us for getting data from the enemy."

"When I saw the next device my thought line changed though. When they brought out the proximity grenade this was a much cleaner device as it would at least let the user target an area to explode under a specific circumstance. Not just destroy an area whether something is there or not. I hope they have an off control, in-case they finish a mission and need to deactivate it without blowing it up. Would save on clean up."

"This rocket launcher and it's rockets were definitely a treat to see but, as a researcher, we can’t have them relying on this weapon. They will destroy equipment that we could use for research in making out own tanks and floating disks. There is still that side project I want to work on for both out tank pilots for their mobility issues. I still want to make them that treat, I think it would give them a great boost to there moral."

“Computer end log for today.”

Several days passed until Zilvara next recorded a log entry.

“Today we had a treat. The laser rifles were finished and distributed to the troops. Watching them go through the paces with them was nice to see. I hope that they find them to be more effective then their other weapons, for all the work we placed in to them. On a side note, my side project was also quietly finished and it is a prize to behold. I can now place one of them under my pillow and have the other one with me when I need it. It will help for if and when I have to travel. It is even engraved nicely too.”

End of log.

Zilvara enters her room and looks around before turning to the computer "Computer, personal log entry." The computer springs to life "Awaiting input." It replied.

"Zilvara personal log entry: Every day our research progresses. Today we are at a break-through with the laser rifle that the commander asked for. The damage to the room I mentioned earlier has been cleared up nicely. The scientist that was responsible for the incident has been set to a new research project. For some weird reason he just smiled and left the room happy. Who would of thought that he would be content to figure out a lighting system for the common room, to incorporate a dance hall. He is a weird one."

"Hummm, today we had another set back; the loss of another soldier. One of the higher ranking soldiers. We really need to work on some personal body armour soon. Having to work with random soldiers could possibly affect results. I am sick of having faces around her changing all the time. How is one supposed to focus on research when there is all these new people wandering around; looking at the stuff in research and trying to see all the "new toys". The weapon technology of the aliens is amazing to behold, such interesting devices. The connectors for the firing mechenizms is completely different form our more conventional weapons. I'm sure once we get around to cracking the technology we will archive some interesting results on replicating it."

"Now as for the proposed list of projects for the commander to look into; I will need to put in a report for the body armour project. I'm sure we can develop it so that it will prevent such fatal damage to our people."

"Some of our more gung-ho research techs want to get there hands on the aliens we have in containment. They understandably want to figure out how it ticks. Others want to wait untill we get that psych doctor here so we can run our line of research off him; to get feel for our findings from the soldiers."

"We will need to talk with Manny about diffrent ways to store and place research equipment in an area where we can get better access to it; so as to not to disrupt his work. I wonder if he might let us make use of the new storage room, as a repository for the stuff we need to work with. This would lessen his worry of us entering his space when he needs to have access to equipment. Hummmm, this might work for him. I think he would like that the new place becoming a sort of storage place for the stuff that is not in use by the ground team. It would free up space around his office at the base supply depot. I'm sure he will go for it."

"I wonder how the ground team would react if I were to propose that new equipment take on a deep purple coloring design." Zilvara grins. "Probably not, but it would be nice. Deep purple is an excellent low light camoflauge and will give the night fighting soldiers a better chance to avoid visual detection."

"Next order of business will be to speak with the commander at some point about these complaints. Our research is going as fast as we can. We're dealing with technology that is new to this world and they expect us to find out how it works within days. They complain that where not doing it the right way. Some days I don’t get these people. I mean come-on! we're working as fast as we can with technology that is from another world of thought, literally. I hope they will come around and see that results are more important than their military standards allow for."

"Ah well. Computer, let’s end this log for now."

Computer log ended at request of user, log saved.

Zilvara heads out of the room towards the common room for some down-time. As she leaves an explosion can be heard, off in the distance, in the research complex. She sighs. “Not again...“

Head research log.

Today’s laser testing went well..... well as good as can be expected for a 6 inch hole thru several internal walls, will need to get the engineers to repair them holes later but I think we can use the error that caused the hundred or so holes in the last room, once I find out which idiot brought in that disco ball we can then maybe use a lower setting for some possible off work time activities that commander wanted but we definitely need to turn down that laser to a reasonable level so it a light show and not a shooting gallery...

Sigh progress they say progress ... they always want it with no damage and no booom effect.....

Hay what do you think your doing over there I told you not to push that big red..... BOOOOOMMMM......

Computer log terminated, due to mic malfunction.....................

{think i might of found a way to keep my spelling and grammer to a minium error level now if i can just remeber to use it all the time giggles}
