My main worry here is the air freezing out in the Banks Orbitals. But, if push comes to shove, They could always be converted into giant spacecraft using Bussard Ramjets.

-in the pocket 'verse vorthon got sucked into in the averted vacuum collapse (hence forth referred to as the PVVgSiitAVC).-

*Vorthon is in the Obsidian, fidgeting with various bits of the ship.*

"There... that should do it."
*He presses a button. There is a flash of light, and the Obsidian appears back in the 'real' 'verse.*

*A radio message crackles in from the Obsidian.*

"Hey guys! I'm baaaack!"
-Back amongst the 'Nid swarm.-

*Nysa smirks.*

"Heh. I actually kinda missed your insults."

Yeah, but a Banks Orbital keeps in air with centripetal force from the rotation of the habitat. There's no roof. Think about what's gonna happen in interstellar space. Also, why don't we just use the CSE wormhole?

Umm, is there gonna be interstellar travel? 'Cause that could cause problems for the Banks orbitals. The interstellar dark tends to be cold, and, well, dark. I don't want CSE citizens freezing to death.

Granted. Now you've totally forgotten to make a wish, and now I'm gonna flame you fotr not making a wish.

I wish I had a nuclear powered gun that shoots laserchainswordchucks. And that won't backfire, explode, or otherwise harm me or my possessions.

Granted. You get one. However, it's one of those ikea-style DIY-type things. The instruction manual is four billion pages long, and you can't make heads or tails of it.

I wish I was the best DF-modder ever.

Dear Urist McWoodcutter,
Next time you abandon a fort, don't stick around to kill a heavily wounded adventurer when he can't burninate you.

Sincerely,
Gonna destroy your whole world or at least give you a very unpleasant death if I ever find you

You do realize there's an 'edit' button, right? There are only a few scenarios that warrant a doublepost.

DF Community Games & Stories / Re: MurderedCopper Succession Fort.

I've never done a succession, I'm a relative n00b, I like being verbose and I've got the free time. Tack me onto the end of that list and remind me what I'll need to download mod-wise.

Modwise, nothing. The raws are stored with the save. It's been that way since the first release of DF2010.

((Feh. Call me crazy. And see y'all tommorow. And I want Nysa to live, so if I come back and she's dead, there's going be hell to pay. {I never really got that saying, but, meh.} In other words, I'm out 'til tomorrow.))

*A hatch on the surface of the pod opens to reveal Nysa, who looks rather confused. She sits up and looks around.*

"Why the Kraahk did I ever think this was a good idea?"

*The Dalor that ran into that dwarf is busy planning the party.*

-Outside-

*A sunflower seed-shaped object plummets through the atmosphere, its metallic exterior glowing from the heat. As it plummets towards the ground, the Tyrant senses a familiar mind.*

((I thought I'd be nice.))

Okay, Tau proved a bit of a fizz... Gonna try 82 G. Eridani. I like to call 'er 82 Eri. (That was a bit random...)

High-five! (Please don't hurt me. I may be a masochist, but it's more the psychological stuff for me... *Cowers in fear*)
