Hm. That sucks. What about with a cheating program? Could I use something to change the humans to my civilization or something like that?

Yes, we don't want to release the HFS too early, now do we? We want at least a standing army prior to that.

Is it possible to create a Dwarven/Human civilization? What are the steps one would take to do so?

Totally adding that prefstring now. I hope to see it on a dwarf soon....

In the context of how the profile uses the prefstrings, SAAAAAATAAAAAN-like flavor is grammatically correct.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Question about Tree Farms....

Yes, once you discover an underground river or lake, and you will get an announcement when you do find it, you can then grow tower caps anywhere underground, using water from any source.

Also you'll even get tower caps growing in soil. If you dig through soil, and it is subterranean but not muddy, tower caps will grow on their own. Slowly. You get far, far more density of plants if you let them grow on muddy rock.

Alright, thank you.

I know that you have to find an underground body of water, and that reveal doesn't work for finding it. However, do you have to use the water from said underground body, or can you just use water from an above ground brook?

Basically, Player Dwarf Forts are where Dwarf civs send all their insane sadists to get rid of them. That's how I see it. Damn renegade dwarves, almost as bad as those cannibalistic elf baby-eaters if you ask me!

Then why do the mountainhomes send caravans? Seems silly, especially if trying to get rid of them. Why not just toss them into a magma pit, or something? Seems such a round about way of doing things....

I'll try my hand in this. Some clarification first: Absolutely no stone used? What about sand, as in for glass, or underground farms? If necessary, can we dig to get iron ores and such, or adamantine?

Count me in. I vote for Vanilla, as I do not have Dig Deeper.

Make my dwarf a hunter, if we embark on an area without a lot of dangerous wildlife, or a miner if there are fire imps or anything similar.

Throwing an idea out here.... What if Toady outsourced some parts of the programming to the community, specifically those who are skilled in programming? It would allow faster completion of the game, allowing for possible eventual retail sale and development, plus it would allow for some additional variation, seeing as a number of people will undoubtedly add their own quirks.

I would not be able to help much with this, as I am not a great programmer at this point.

Downsides: Donations would no longer be able to fairly go solely to Toady, some of the "helpers" would undoubtedly fall behind and otherwise abandon the project, also could cause some problems with the balance of the game.

Also, perhaps this is not the best place for this. Feel free to alert me if this should be repositioned.
