It is fixed for the upcoming .13, but a workaround is to press 'c' to center the view on the currently selected linkable thingy.

I wish I was awesome enough to make the Game of Life in DF with water and pressure plates. Honestly I consider myself lucky when I don't flood my entire fort when irrigating a field, even if it is just from a self-contained murky pool. :P :)

Sorry to all those who thought it would be about that and were disappointed.

We could use one of the gas giants as a space colonizer. Stuff a reactor into one end and push it around the galaxy. Put people on the moons, leaving the 'forward' side empty of course. WEB COMICS have suggested this FTW.

Search for recent threads titled "humans", it's a town some adventurer found with 1000+ humans in it. The save is in that thread for folks to have fun with. :)

How about colonization of the Moon and Mars. I said MEGA project, not piddly little tiny project like a tunnel between NA and EU or making a new continent.

DF would get the highest rating due to the "killing children" aspect. And it wouldn't be sold in Wal-Mart or GameStop because of that.  And, unfortunately, some politician would probably attempt to use it as a stepping-stone for their careers, and it would be "made an example of" to all the other game developers and hobbyists.

Modding support is great. Easier modding support would be even better. :)

The less files that need to be modified, the easier modding is.

Right now, even for simple mods, a bunch of files need to be changed. A custom workshop or reaction needs changes to the custom workshop file and the race files. If it was a plug-and-play file that could be dropped in, instead of a modification to an existing file, and it included a command like ADD_TO_RACES:ALL or ADD_TO_RACES:DWARF or something like that, custom workshops and reactions could be made "drag and drop to add."

There are a bunch of examples I bet others could find as well. :)

As noted, higher quality components produce a better siege engine. You may need to build someone up to legendary in that skill.
