literally any exposed smooth tops. the goal is to eventually have all the floors at bedrock level.

Also, using dirt as scaffolding is a good idea because we have a crap-load of it in the chest in the floor of the first landing.

Ok, I'll probably do some mining in the next few days then :)

123
Ok, but can we literally dig any exposed smooth stone tops? I know that's what you said but when I went in, there were quite a few places where it looked like I probably shouldn't dig down. (I know we can only dig from the tops, also it was a while ago so don't ask for examples of what I mean :D)

124
I say no because if it's just outside the southgate then that's where I'm farming red woods to make a nice forest walk out of the city

125
I'd like to do some of the middle-lower class area, preferably the area near the slums gate, so as to be more lower-class oriented than middle-class oriented.

Or more specifically, I'd like these areas:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Starting with the purple, and moving on to develop the hillside (orange) up to the wall when OJ finishes his work on the top of the hill.

Is that south or east? If it's south then no

I closed Minecraft without disconnecting and now the server keeps saying bad login :(

Edit: fixed now

Aww my bad, I killed it. Sorry. Turns out /stopfire doesn't have a space in it

Don't do that again.

Restarted the server.

I don't think Guestprev works. I can't access it from the console either.

I won't, it was an accident

We're on the public server now

In Moria, the main thing is that you can only dig out smoothstone from the top side. Everything else is fair game. They're trying to make very large, tall caverns.

Anyway, hmmmm....

and maybe
http://www.electricmonk.nl/Programmings/MCPlayerEdit

I don't know if McMyAdmin likes linux. Worst case scenario, maybe I can talk Tahin into letting me put my windows server 2008 on there.

As far as I know it should be fine, but I could find out for definite if you really want to know

Edit: Actually I'm not so sure, it's a C# back end if I remember rightly so you'd have to use Mono :/

Edit Edit: It wouldn't be too difficult to make a web interface to wrap MCPlayerEdit (so OPs could use it for example)

Anyone know what happened to all that metal in the depot a few days ago?

27 bars worth in that anvil alone! Please leave materials for the next player! If you want to use a large amount of a resource for some project, please gather as much as you can.

+1

hmm just some questions:
 - what server soft are you using?
 - any plugins or whatnot? (permissions?)
 - any java coders available?

I have my own server, it's a Bukkit server with lotsa useful plugins, and supports up to 5 people at a time :P

Don't know Java but I know C/C++, C#, JS, PHP, HTML & CSS and some others to a lesser degree. I'm also fairly proficient with linux.

On an unrelated note, more powers for us OPs would be great

I don't think so at the moment, turning them off should be safe... (I hope)

Yeah, it could probably do with a bit of maintenance. I haven't really had the time or energy to touch it in quite a while (apart from the occasional offset update).
