I asked the same question not long ago but it resolve itself

For me the hammerer did not deliver the hammerstrikes until after the vampires day sentence was up in prison, I believe this is so so the docter doesnt try to free the injured while hes in prison

As after my vampires sentence he got hammerstrikes and didn't die, so I sentenced him again, which began a hilarious tu of war between the guard and the chief of medicine

Sadly my fort met its end when zombified giant mosquitos, about a hundred of them flew over my walls :C

But with the new version apparently the mosquito's where fixed, so ill probably start another above ground fort in next few days

I'll try making a waterfall off of a wall to see if the mists cancel out, and i'll dig a pit and see if the mist will fall into it, and that will also so if its possible to make a wall high enough to stop it, if it works, a really deep channel will be more effective then a wall vs a Mist

I'll post my findings here

Hello, I tried one or two of these in my above ground fort on a terrifying biome

I had a wall that was 4 thick and 4 high and the mist got over that no problem

I know it will flow Down ramps I'm unsure of the limit however

Most does not contaminate water, but it can if say the mist causes the affected to spurt blood and they infected choose to do so in a body of water

From what I can tell, the mists pattern of movement seems really random and is not effected by rain and wind

I had a mist that everyone spew blood out of every possible body part, it only took a year for most of the ground to be covered

Idk if anyone has posted about watching vampire feeding, but i just witnessed it happening

My vampire was locked up for a year in prison and the second he was let free he ran immediately to a random bedroom with a sleeping farmer in it

His symbol color changed to the color of a child/baby(darkish red), and he stood there for a while and the one he was feeding off lived for a little bit aswell, so feeding is not instant.

I noticed the farmer flashed an injured symbol for half a second then he died, and the Vampire went on his merry way

Hilariously he ended up blaming a nearby wardog for the murder

I got the hammerer to hammer the jerk eventually, his day sentence just needed to end, but he lived, and now walks free :C, how do i sentence him to death or say 1000000 hammerstrikes?

Hello everyone, i just recently caught my first vampire, and he was sentenced to 201 days in prison, and 50 hammerstrikes from the hammerer, however, the hammerer isnt doing it, nor did she even pick up the warhammer i made for her

To get her to hold the warhammer i assigned her to a squad and gave it to her, so now shes carrying it, but still not preforming the hammer strikes, how do i get her to execute the vampire?

The Dust Thrall is being attacked by 50 zombies and has been being beaten on for a while now and seems to be completely invincible, i can post the save if anyone wants to take a look at it

I embarked on one of the terrifying biomes and started building an above ground fortress, I had one of the huge swarms of mosquitos everyone was talking about

A deadly mist killed all of them and one or two of my dwarves

Then all the Mosquitos reanimated and flew over my walls and tore up my poor dwarves

I would say much much harder :C

I had a huge swarm too, didnt hurt my FPS much though, a Mist came through and killed them all eventually

Hello everyone, i just got the new release and am very excited to play it, however i've spend considerable time trying to get the ideal set-up for my fortress, that is a terrifying Biome, next to a tower, after many many world gens and test embarks i think i found a good spot

However now i'm paranoid, during my test embarks one of the terrifying biomes i embarked on was writhing with tendrils, and immediately began raining elf blood, so i thought "perfect!" but that spot didn't work out. so now with my "ideal" location, it says its a terrifying biome, i even saw some blood gnats, but i've seen a few dragon flies, and all the grass is green and no zombie creatures nearby and then it rained normal water so now i'm paranoid that this spot wont have the raining blood and "evil mists" i'm looking for

I was just wondering if someone could put my mind at ease, as since i'm starting a above ground fortress, it would suck if i wasted a bunch of time when i actually needed to go to a more specific spot
