I added both aquatic and removed nobreath and they drown!  :D

Is it possible to apply this to my forgotten beasts? I have one made of vomit and one made of coke that are both unkillable   :'(

New Coke or Coke Classic?

ANYWAY... yeah I think it is [HOMEOTHERM] that controls inherent body temp... (its the one used in the thermonuclear catsplosion anyway....)

DF Gameplay Questions / Unable to close from the Embark Screen

So I was about to start up a new fortress... when I noticed I didn't have much time. So I tried to close the game while in the embark screen (where you pick out skills and items) but escape didn't open up the main menu thing. Is this a bug or has it always been this way?

I would have posted this in the bug forum.. but I don't think I can post there  :-X

O! And I'm playing v0.31.03 if that is of any significance.

Aw thanks.. wasn't sure it would turn of the megabeast or not. That might make it a lil dull.. but could be decent practice and I'd still get to ... play with a few animals it sounds like.

It seems like it would be killing half the Fun... but it might be a good way to learn some of the basic mechanics. What I really wanna know is does it also turn of megabeasts... and will a few stray animals wonder into my fort?

It seems to me that sneaking has gone from total stealth... to move silently without hide. Stuff doesn't seem to know where I am... unless it has a line of sight to me or is about... greater then 10 tiles away. That number is kinda pulled out of thin air.. saying that enemies that are a decent ways off will not "see" you.

Has anyone looked at what affect Travelling has on other party members, if they are wounded/bleeding?

I've not found anyone who'll join me yet  ::)

Yeah one of my party members was injured pretty badly in a fight against a dragon... Pierce lung... thankfully we killed the dragon almost immediately afterward and I was able to travel... I moved a tile on the world map and went back into "exploration mode" (don't know what its really called) to check her health.. and she was fine. o.o

I love the Axe! It hacks off limbs quite easily. Wrestling is handy for crippling certain enemies... (see breaking a sword masters sword hand). As for hammers.. I am severely disappointed. I had a human hammer man with super humanly strength and master hammer skill (smashed alot of wolfs). NOT ONCE did I send anything flying fifty tiles. Did this get removed in the new version?

Mine was to a armless bronze colossus. Charged me knocking me down. Then he kicked my shield arm breaking it. Then he kicked me around for a bit. I tried to fight back with my bronze halbred... but.. he broke my hand... then I passed out to the pain. Then he was free to kick my guts and brains out >.>

SO yeah... I was playing around in adventure mood... and I had done a lot of fighting.. actually got up to legendary thrower (but I always do that). Killed a few dozen evil humans.. and countless animals. I lasted a Loooong time. But.. they way I died kinda bugs me...

I saw an island out in the ocean.. and I wanted to see if I could swim to it. Sure enough I got there no problem... so I wondered around it a lil bit... and decided to go back to the main land.

About half way there... I got a really weird message...

I was melting o.o

I ended up bleeding/melting to death. I don't Know how I melted in the ocean... any body have any idea how this could have happened?

Ok... I have a couple interesting problems. The area I started out in was pretty nice. Had a river (no Carp though.. YAY!) a magma pipe.. that goes allll the way to the surface. And I noticed in the first winter that the water didn't freeze over. Has a lot of trees too. No real cliff face for me to dig into though.. but I was about to just dig down and build some walls around myself. But.. there were other problems (apart from darn dirty apes). I'm starting to notice.. I cant seem to find any Iron ore ANYWHERE... I've dug quite a way down.. and maybe I just need to dig outwards more, so not gonna give up on that yet (and I was able to do a lil modding to make more types of obsidian weapons... no ammo though). All I've found down in the ground was a 1 layer of soil.. the rest obsidian and marble.
This leads to my main problem.

I guess since marble and obsidian have higher values.. its upping my fort value through the roof.. and with out iron its getting kinda hard to find positions for all the migrants to work in.. and also with out the iron I cant really tap into the magma pipe I have. My question is this.. what is the best way to rid my self of excess immigrants that I don't want? I'm leaning towards a flooding chamber and a pump to pump out the water... I tried a dwarven atom smasher.. but I forgot they stand on the switch to turn it on.. not to the side of it >.> Any suggestions?

OOoooo it was tame LARGE animal... didn't think monkeys would be large >.> Thanks for the help guys! Now... to find some way to rid myself of some... unwanted migrants. Thinking military + station near river.

hrm... How do I tame them? (dont really see an option to tame in the kennels menu...)
