While this report is now almost two years old, it still impacts the base game. Is there some simple way to solve the issue besides slaying all building destroyers in DF hack or nerfing races in the raws? The problem I have with using DF hack is that in trying to slay visitors with building destroyer the exterminate command in DF hack kills all units on the map of that race. I don't want to nerf invaders over something this silly either, but having """"""""not hostile""""""" frost giants that wear railroad engines for armor meander into my two seasons old fort and drive my craftsdwarves into a murderous rage is not a navigable gameplay scenario.

I am using the Meph tileset included with the pack. Is there a specific way to initiate TWBT besides using the settings I provided in the last post? I really appreciate your help.

I read graphics card as graphics set  ::)
My graphics card is very new as is my CPU. Is it a new Nvidia setting that could be causing this or my AMD CPU?

Hello, I downloaded the ready to use package from this thread using this link. When I launch the program using these settings it displays certain fonts as creature sprites (totally illegible). Can someone help me fix it, please? I'm also getting an issue where after loading an embark it crashes, but it seems like as long as there are illegible characters like these then it doesn't happen. that last one is before the main menu btw. Thanks for the help.

Rainwater should refill it although weather is a bit unreliable, I find that it either rains almost constantly or almost never at all in DF.

Use the maximum embark size and create 4 different settlements on the cornors of the embark then link those settlements by subterranian roads (3x3 minimum), only have 30 dwarves per settlement. All 4 settlements must be atleast begun by the fifth year of the fortress.
While doing all of this maintain a militia of atleast 45 Dwarves at all times beyond the fifth year, you're only allowed Marksdwarves, axedwarves, and hammerdwarves. Before you finish the third settlement you must begin to wage a war on the underground caverns and conquer them with your miltia. Any and all living captured troblemaker dwarves must be made into gladiators and sent into the caverns to fight the horrors within, should they survive one year with a minimum of ten kills they may return to society as a hero. You must maintain atleast one handful of surface structures used to accomadate Human and Elven caravans, the surface structures can be made of any substance and must be completed by the 3rd year. A subterranian depot must be made for dwarven caravans. All efforts should be made to keep Dwarvan caravans seperate from the surface filth. Make sure all nobles have bedrooms where the entire floor of said bedrooms is composed of trapdoors that may be able to open and expose latter noble to a pool of indiscriminant justice. (magma) To top it all off should you succesfully conquer the caverns and keep them secure for a year without walls you may then wall them off and locate and do the same to the HFS.

If you fail to conquer the caverns before the 12th year you must recruit all avalible dwarves and prepare for an all out suicidal assualt against the caverns. Any dwarves that cannot be recruited (medical or age reasons) must be sacrificed to a lava shrine.

Required biome traits : Evil or Terrifying, with aquifer.

Actually I have the same problem with GCS, I even edited the raws to make them spawn with populations of 50 in any non-frozen surface biome and yet I haven't seen one in legends, adventurer,
or fortress mode. Removed the ambush predator tag and they still never popped up anywhere, I also
extended their natural life span incase they just weren't breeding and that didn't seem to be the case
either. I know they work just fine since I use them in object testing with no problems. Could it be a world
generation bug? I've personally never seen a GCS go around and make webs with no enemies to shoot them at so maybe the webs people encounter in caverns are just made by the world generator?

Your farm plot isn't set to grow anything in spring.

EDIT: and there's a ghost slowing everything down.
It was set to fertilize in the spring when I reclaimed it, I had some actual potash dwarves
working before the reclamation. Also the craftdwarf ghost is an ass, if you can I'd suggest destroying
his grave, he went insane and with zero skill killed four recruits.

World.sav by itself is completely useless - we need the entire regionX folder.

I bet you've got some "creature_foo.txt.[orig/bak/$$$/etc]" files in your raw folder, which are widely known to cause this exact behavior.

I'll check that, although I'm not sure exactly what it is...

No, like I said all I was using was therapist. However is it possible that this thing could of came onto the surface via a cave and actually joined a civ like a demon would?

I've just looked through it and everything is looking as it should. I should mention that this is a pocket world and there were no dwarven civs with the exception of this fortress up until 1051.

I loaded up the save game file:

I noticed that you also have human migrants, and that this is a reclaim fort. I think there may be a bug with reclaiming a fort. Someone else should try to abandon and reclaim a different fort.

Vulkanis, why were dwarves killing dwarves in the legends mode records for your fort? Tantrum, berserk, justice, or loyalty cascade?

An insane (and zero wrestling skill mind you) craftsdwarf went insane because we didn't have any bones for his work, so he killed 4 dwarves singlehandedly while the militia commander cowered in the mining shafts. He was overwhelmed when the mob of 40 or so dwarves came at him and tore him in half.

No, thats probably just a relationship modifier not a status ailment.
