DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Tamed forgotten beast citizen? Bug?
« on: February 27, 2011, 09:16:17 pm »
It seems pretty lethargic since it has barely moved from the screenshot I first posted. I don't know if theres a spot in the raws for this specific beast.

I tried giving it a room, didn't show up in the list sadly. Maybe it needs a pasture? I wonder if its asexual, would it be possible to breed and train up an army of them?

Yes he can wear armor, infact he brought his own clothing. Just average migrant clothing like cavespider silk and and pigtail
no metal armor in the bunch.

He won't follow my orders at all but he is friendly, I would assume he can't wear armor since he is described as "towering".

No, sadly he doesn't even follow simple commands  :(. This is probably because the game considers him an animal as well as a citizen. Hence why
he is "tame". I'll see if I can get him to goto burrows.

I'll see if I can get some larger armor though.

Well I can't tell, I've seen a few of my farmers walk by him no problem. I assume he uses the secretions like a breath weapon or its a liquid coating on its body that attackers get stuck on them.

I am reclaiming this spot so possibly he was underground all along and now he was teleported to the surface because of the reclamation. In that case he might actually go berserk in a few minutes, stay tuned.

Then honestly, I have no fucking idea. What's its syndrome?
Syndrome? I'm not sure what you mean.

I didn't modify any sort of files to give it a job either, it came as a migrant. Also who wouldn't want a sentient theropod commander to lead your dwarfs into battle?

I'm not using any mods, this is a completely vanilla installation of DF with the exception of the amazing phoebus tileset.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Tamed forgotten beast citizen? Bug?
« on: February 27, 2011, 08:37:29 pm »
On my first migrant wave I had gotten 3 dwarves and a tamed forgotten beast, I'm fairly sure this is a bug since it came as a citizen and not even a pet. I made it into my militia commander although he it seems reluctant to follow orders. I am playing with a vanilla set of DF raws, I am however using dwarf therapist but I'm sure no positive that couldn't cause this. It is specifically a "towering eyeless theropod with blush lavender feathers that has noxious secretions"

DF Suggestions / Re: Clay stuffs: bricks, pottery.
« on: May 28, 2010, 02:02:40 pm »
I'd enjoy the ability to engrave and smooth clay as well. But bricks don't exist in the DF universe at the moment, it seems people just carve small oddly shapped and un-uniform rocks into far larger uniform blocks. If we had bricks we could use it to make walls rather then just plain uncut rocks from the mines.

Other Games / Re: Space Station 13 *READ RULES ON FIRST POST*
« on: May 26, 2010, 02:51:22 pm »
Probably has been said before but honestly I DONT WANT TO READ 856 PAGES OF THIS. Running is ridiculos people practically teleport around, running should probably be as fast as drifting through space so many griefers just avoid speaking with anyone by running all over the place. Also the amount of huge bombs you can get is ridiculos there should probably only be enough supplys on the station for one large bomb not including the PDA bombs those are fine they can stay as they currently are, The large ones are griefer magnets so many times I see assistants named things like 1337d00d or Toiletbrush just making bombs and killing people with them. Their should be a local OOC so you can speak out of charecter to people around you and not everyone in the station.

Back to those massive bombs I spoke of, I'll admit its entertaining to see the station and people's body parts go flying every which way but I can't deal with the average 5 or 6 that often take place in each round, this is in the dev server as well.

Farts and poo needs a anti-spam.

--EDIT--

Sorry 99.9% of these issues are goon only. Forgive me for any confusions.

DF Suggestions / Re: Adamantine colossus?
« on: May 19, 2010, 10:46:53 pm »
All of these can be modded in as castes of the bronze colossus, and the [POP_RATIO:] tag to set rarity.

I mentioned this earlier, also I asked somone to compare iron man to bronze colossus in arena but noone did.

DF Suggestions / Re: Metorites during worldgen.
« on: May 14, 2010, 06:35:59 pm »
I, honestly, don't think this sort of consideration to fluff is necessary.  If the player comes in contact with a rare metal then there should be a price for their greedy digging, that's a given.  Now, whether that price is hoards of dangerous creatures or something different(original), is the question.  Or nothing, I suppose is an option, if it's such a rare event.  Of course, if it WERE to be something, I could see it being an expensive statue that you can't sell.  and when there are the most dwarves or beings near the edge of the map (to coincide with goblin ambushes) it will awake and cause terror from inside your fort. or maybe when it has a blood covering or something.  just a thought.

It could turn into a Colossi? That would explain where the things come from, thats brilliant!

DF Suggestions / Re: Secondary weapons.
« on: May 14, 2010, 06:34:30 pm »
I could understand if your trying to say in the midst of a battle a speardwarf that pulls out his
secondary won't get his spear back

Exactly. They hit the enemy once with the spear, it gets stuck and they'd immediately switch weapons even if pulling the spear out would be trivial.

Dwarves can throw things in fortress mode. Only in tantrums though. Making them throw things actually designated to be thrown shouldn't be that difficult.

Well secondary would be useful for Javelins and weapons that are similar. Also Pilsu when you have a specific situation then please say so, missunderstandings are a bad bad thing.
