DF Bug Reports / Re: Train adv. mode bowmen for free

Cool. Other than that you can constantly throw stuff from ground(use macro), become maser and kill cyclops with spinning piece of sand.

Well. Since i play recent version I think bug is still here. Or at least part of it.

@Proteus.
1)When you abandon your fortress during siege - all your dwarves gets killed.
2)When you abandon your fortress, while having caged goblin - all your dwarves gets killed.
Try yourself.
I think it's some kind of siege. Maybe not. Only Toady knows.

*leveling up my necromancy*

[38c]
In my recent fortress, when i've cosen to abandon it, 3 caged goblins killed 61 dwarves(20 of them military and guards) with some message about conquering me.
Later(in Adv. mode) i found all the corpses of my dwarves and 3 empty goblin cages in my barracks(metal btw.). All animal cages contain corpses.

I played more and found some giant rats who attacks my compaions and yet attacking them has to be confirmed, even if they are fully healthy. It starts to be really annoying. =(

Thanks for comments. First of all i didn't try to attack peasant or somebody friendly. I played elven archer with wrestling. When I put bow in backpack i dont need to press `A` wrestling used automatically. So while choking that prone "naked mole dog" charachter stops at some turn and instead of strangling just walks on the tile with it releasing all grips. And from now on I have to press 'A' to attack this creature, as it were friendly and game asks me if i really want to.
Same happened before to my axeman but I didn`t really pay attention because it took 1-2 turns to finish enemy.

It seems to be weapon independant. But wrestling seems to have better chances for this to happen. I believe it`s some kind of near-death state which makes creatures unhostile.

edit/ I use the 27_169_33a version.

While fighting some monster it may get uncouncious and something like less "hostile" so i got to force 'A'ttack then chose from the list of one item and finally confirm with enter. [Repeat 10 times.] If i don`t do that most times it recoveres in couple of turns and attacks me again.

Even if there are some option to remove this warning(i didnt find) it should not affect obviosly hostile creatures or something.

DF Bug Reports / [38b] dropped artifact teleports
« on: March 21, 2008, 10:58:00 am »
I player Fortress Mode and created an artifact(copper mace). Then abandoned fortress and found it with adventurer(human).
Found my artifact mace in the bin.

Whenever I drop the artefact, it always teleports back to that bin.

I also found my other artifacts(GCSS skirt and platinum crown) - same stuff, but I can see it in the bin inventory after picking up. If i take it again I still have one and one in the bin.

EDIT: Also all artifacts can be sold to some shop multiple times(it does not appear at shop inventory).

Other than that I found gauntlets for a human. It used to be *large* in Dwarf mode, but i cannot wear it since none of them is left or right. Just -steel gauntlet-.

Simple quality small gauntlets is left or right. And higher quality ones(with -x- =x= and such) is just gauntlets.

I'm strongly against non-sexual females in media. I got plenty of them IRL. :/

Since non-sexual romantic creatures don't breed and become extinct.

Romantic relationships is basically a sexual behaviour. With or without sex itself.

<STRONG>let alone ones with enough character and personality to genuinely want to invest in a virtual relationship with them</STRONG>
There is a plenty of jap dating sims. And i think dwarven relationships are romantic enough - they never giving a birth to kids without pumping their social skills.

that's right - people like gta's

I haven't completed Witcher but it contains some kind of sex, so maybe it has brothel in main city, i'm not sure.

can't think of anything else recent, but
Gothic 2 had brothel with hookers, and some rendered scene in bed, nothing you can't show to kids, though.

and if i remember correctly Vampire Bloodlines and Fallout both had brothels or something like.

I think commercial game dev's avoid brothels and sex in games because they want to sell it to everyone(or "greed").

Not sure about dwarven brothels but I kinda like toilet suggestion.

I think brothels don't fit in all that dwarven law. But I'd like to see brothels in AM.

code:
You begin sneaking.
You bash The goblin elite Whore in the upper body with your Sokanbabin Anir Ineth!
It is mangled!
The goblin elite Whore is knocked over and tumbles backward!
The goblin elite Whore passes out.
You grab The goblin elite Whore by the giant cave spider silk thong.
You gain possession of the giant cave spider silk thong!
You have nothing left to remove. x2
You stab The goblin elite Whore in the lover body with your ®-penis-Ї!
The shot glances away.
You stab The goblin elite Whore in the lover body with your ®-penis-Ї!
It is pierced through completely!
The goblin elite Whore's liver has been broken!
The goblin elite Whore has been struck down.
It is noon.

DF Suggestions / Workshop Log / Fixed job list / Colored jobs
« on: March 06, 2008, 05:13:00 am »
Simple idea. Add production log to workshop 'P'rofile menu.
code:
Iron plate mail x3
Copper gauntlets x6
Silver coins

like that. I think 10 entries per WS is enough. And log for all WS of same type. Sometimes i can't figure out what my dwarves did or not.

Second suggestion is unstoppable job list for WS with option to 'repeat all'. So we can repeat whole list. Like make 3 mugs 2 toys and again. But if worker has no material he don't remove everything from list but suspends it. Then game checks every 1000(?) frames if jobs can be resumed and(if ok) does so. Number of frames can be optional and set in init.txt.

And third. Make job names colored in [dwarf -> 'v' -> 'p' -> 'l' menu] and embark screen. colors match dwarf color of same profession but dark. active ones is bright. grey white and uncolored are grey, ranger and jeweler jobs are dark green etc.

I'm sure there is nothing wrong with the game here. Reasons why you feel that bad about unability to find items you want is somewhere inside you. Items really not that important. I played unarmored wrestler, who managed to strangle more than 100 goblins, and that's was fun.
