Quarto! is my 2 player thinking game I go to. Largely because it's easy to teach/learn, and takes a lot less time than chess.
Also ya, if you look in to a lot of the Euro style games, most of them don't have any random elements. Terra Mystica is a pretty thick game I played recently with no cards, no dice. It's all about shuffling your cubes/discs/people etc. properly, and blocking your opponent where neccesary.

I feel like life is finally coming together. Got my anxiety medication, my budget is on track, working on a chore schedule and catching up on the zillion projects around the house I've been putting off. Life is still busy and stressful, but as I put more and more pieces in, I'm starting to finally see the full picture, and it's nice.

So my roommate found out he might have a solitary kidney while at the doctor for run of the mill food poisoning. He doesn't really have to change anything even if it's true, but he's a little put out by it.
Seeing as I was just recently weirded out by giving blood for a blood test, I can understand this completely. It was part of me, then it wasn't, and they took it, and I had less blood than I did going in. I probably made more. Its weird. Don't judge me.

Dark Weizen (Bavarian beer) apparently is a great ingredient in lentil soup. Hooray for drunk cooking!
My favourite part of making cheddar ale soup. Guinness for the soup, Guinness for the cook!

[LIBERAL INTENSIFIES]

Also, I dunno how long I've been here. Long enough. :D
You just passed your 2 years in January, if you actually just don't know how to check it's in your profile, if you just don't care to check too bad, I'm telling you anyways...

Homeworld and War Thunder. So Battlestation: Midway?

Coming on my five year-a-versary on the forums, also two (well, one) post off of 3000.

Also, I think this belongs here? I got anti-anxiety meds from my doctor today. It's been getting so that I have trouble going out with the kids places, so it's needed I think, and I have nothing against meds, I just have this thing where I'm always afraid I didn't give the doctor the right information and I've been misdiagnosed and stuff... Anyways, hopefully in a few weeks I'll be posting a happy of about how well I'm doing on them.

I have to say, this game has aged well. Played a bit of the campaign of Homeworld 1, and I think I do like it a bit more than the remastered version. Someone mentioned remembering fighters being more affective and they do seem so.

Mormons came by unexpectedly in ~30 degree weather to spread the word of mormon stuff. Me being me, caught in an unexpected situation requiring me to talk to people, it was an awkward couple minutes before I shooed them off. Ugh. Probably could've handled that better.
It get's better in time with practice. In fact yesterday, I shooed away someone asking if I'd "locked in my hydro rates blah blah wakka wakka" in about 10 seconds flat. "nope, sorry, don't wanna discuss, bai" *door shut*.
Reminds me of the time my poor brother got stuck talking to the Jehova's witnesses for approx. 30 minutes.

Actually, this sort of answers an age old question I had. Is it possible that what I see as blue the same as what you see as blue? And the answer is, it's very possible, because brains be wack, yo!

My internal monologues are also a bit strange.

It's really dumb and not at all hard to understand.
If you look at what the colours are they're light blue and brown. If your brain compensation for the filter it's a darker blue and black.

Problem solved. We can all go home.
The thing is, when the brain DOES compensate the other way, it's a bit strange. First time I saw it my brain said "yup, that dress is pure white with a harvest-gold trim, carry on". Now that I've taken time to actually look at it, my brain has figured out what colours they actually are. It's a neat illusion, but just that.

Edit: Oh god damn it, there I go talking about it now...

For what it's all worth; at least he lived long and prospered.
I was just saying this to a friend, he really did.

I've seen cigarette packages more shocking than that troll. Inept shock trolling makes me laugh. What's the point if you're not going to do it well?
