I'm having trouble updating to the latest version of your graphics set when using the LNP. Do you have a folder that would go into the LNP graphics folder so I could update it like that?
Download the DwarfFortressConfig 0.31.25v23 for LNP.zip patch, and unpack it directly in the root of your LNP install "LazyNewbPack[0.31.25][V9.2]".
Then go in the "Dwarf Fortress 0.32.25" subdirectory and run DwarfFortressConfig.exe to get access to the new stuff.
Also, run the "df_phoebus_init_updater.bat" to update the inits to the latest Phoebus version.

So i just dl'ed the pack, and its pretty awsome. however, I'm not getting any sound. I changed sound:no to yes, and restarted but im still not getting anything. Any ideas of what i could do?
The game has no sounds, only music.
You need to use an external utility called SoundSense to add sound to DwarfFortress.

Added 3 options 'Text Clear Space', 'Text Space Bright Natural' and 'Text Space Bright Smooth'.

Excuse me, to which configuration file shall I put this, and what is the exact syntax? I want my Clear Space back...
You need to run the DwarfFortressConfig.exe utility, and go in the Tileset Assembler tab.
There you will be able to find those options (and many more.)

is it possible to use the newest version of phoebus with this mode ? because i've downloaded the one on the front page, and when i try to stall the newest versions of phoebus i that one dwarf civ disapear and i can only play as elfs.
No, the two mods are not compatible.
The way the modding system works, the definition of what something looks like is located in the same file as it's gameplay properties.
So when you install a graphic mod over a gameplay mod, a large number of gameplay modifications end up being overwritten in the process; it breaks the game.

The graphic modification need to be merged with the gameplay modifications.
In itself that isn't such a big problem, but Genesis and it's variants add a lot of new content, and that new content also needs to modded graphically.
TomiTapio and Deon are playing using the Ironhand tileset (I presume), so they're modding their new creations for the Ironhand tileset as they go.

The last version of Phoebus' Steel Mod seems to be 0.31.25v13 (April 20, 2011). And it warns in bright red letters:

This mod should only be used with Phoebus' Graphic Set of the same version.

So... is it about time to update your Steel Mod? Or is there a way for us to manually update it to work with 0.31.25v23 ?

I'm guessing that the only problem with not using Phoebus' graphics with this is that this mod adds Anthracite coal as a mineral and tells the game to look for the tile for Anthracite (which is missing in other graphics sets).
The Steel Mod only changes one core file: "entity_default.txt", which is untouched by the graphic pack.
So you can use the mod with any mod/pack that doesn't change "entity_default.txt", including vanilla Df and the latest Phoebus.

I can't say as much about the cooking mod.

Hey Phoebus,

What would need to be adjusted to use phoebus for tomitapio's version of genesis? I mean, I couldn't install it like normal I assume.

For now I just used ascii and copied over tomi's init changes, replacing ironhand with phoebus. But I'd like to make sure everything shows right and is updated (for instance w/ the bamboo!).
Quite a lot.
Every creature, plant & mineral needs to have their tile changed, and a few other miscellaneous objects too.

I did minerals a few days ago... and it took me 1.5 hours. :/ I'm not too eager to do the rest.

By the way - I discovered in my download of v23 that the version file in the RAW folder says v20.

Minor issue, but I thought you're appreciate the reporting all the same.
The raws were not updated since v20.
Now that the graphic pack is split in different parts (units, raws & tileset), I'm only upping the version of a part when it's seeing an update.

I've made some changes to the tileset assembler to display more elements on the preview.
The preview/tileset window now has a tooltip indicating the ability to change the display with left & right clicks.

The updated Tileset Assembler executable is available as a separate download until the next graphic set update:
DwarfFortessConfig.exe @ MediaFire

293
Right click the display to see the tileset.

The new darker space look:

*Updated* 0.31.25v23
Improved the Bars/Zone/Excellent Quality/Bamboo tile.
Darkened the background texture in the space tile.
Added 3 options 'Text Clear Space', 'Text Space Bright Natural' and 'Text Space Bright Smooth'.
Brighter LowSky is now enabled by default.
Added a Darker LowSky option for old low sky brightness.
Meld Stone Walls are now selected by default.

Phoebus, is there any plans to redo the current bar sprites? The wood currently looks like bars and the bars look very low quality compared to the rest of the sprites.
I've made some improvements to the bamboo tile, here's two versions:

What do you think about these new versions of the bamboo tile?

The bag is the male symbol, the necklace is the female symbol.
There's a small male symbol tied to the bag, and the necklace has a female symbol/ankh shaped pendant.

I have done this though, I have the file (called Phoebus) in my Dwarf Fortress folder. (which has all the dwarf fortress folders and exe file in it)

If you have a single file named Phoebus in your DF folder, then I'm assuming it's the archive file and not the graphics pack itself.  You  have to unzip that file with WinRar or 7Zip or Winzip or whatever you have that will open it into that Dwarf Fortress folder and overwrite ("copy and replace") anything it prompts you to.  Simply downloading it and putting it there won't do any good.

On the other hand, I'm surprised that you even have the updater files to run them if you haven't unzipped it properly.  Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, Dizzard.

No, the file named "Phoebus" has already been unzipped. It's a normal folder that contains everything that comes with the phoebus graphic mod.
If you downloaded the pre-installed package, you must run the DwarfFortress.exe that is inside the Phoebus directory that has been created.
If you downloaded the graphic set package, you must unpack it in the directory of your Dwarf Fortress installation, do not unpack it in a subdirectory; it should overwrite plenty of old files.

299
1. Install the 'Pre-Installed Package', or unpack the Graphic Set Package over your current installation.

2. Run DF_Savegame_Updater.bat (or DF_savegame_updater.sh on Linux) to update your savegames.

3. Run DF_Phoebus_Init_Updater.bat to update your inits.

4. Play the game!

Could somebody expand on step number 1? Install....in what way?

I've run both updaters and it seemed like they were running fine but when I started the game, nothing looked different. I must be installing it wrong...
"Installing" means unziping the file in the folder where you want the game to installed.
I'm going to clarify this.

I'll look into Mayday's font style.

I would appreciate that. The font is overwhelming for anything more than simple lists. The rest of the pack is so clear and easy on the eye I'd hate to drop it.
Mayday uses the Guybrush font, which is available in the tileset assembler.

*Updated* 0.31.25v22

I noticed that the black unrevealed tile was brightened in this version (you can clearly see a gray pattern now where was all black).

Just commenting to let you know that I actually prefer the old version! I find the gray pattern too ugly/distracting.
You can revert to the old version by selecting either "Text Clear" options in the Tileset Assembler.

Thank you very much for your hard work Phoebus. I really, really appreciate what you doing for the community.
I send you those girls so they could please you in any possible way.  ;D
Thanks. I would have prefered if you faxed me a pizza, but won't look a gift horse in the mouth.
