The method my opengl wrapper uses to find the real opengl library is not very portable, and not applicable to wine since wine does not have an actual opengl32.dll for me to open. They did add emulation to opengl, not sure if it was recent or not.
They may have added emulation code for that since I wrote the wrapper, though.
..that shouldn't work. Er....It made a huge increase for me in wine on my mac as well. Why shouldn't it work?
Good for you?
Through trial and error (and the assistance of my much nerdier father) I have figured out how to get df working just right on a mac. It's a complicated and annoying process, so I'm posting this in the hope of helping other people. First off, install macports. It's a program that makes installing wine (the windows program runner) much easier. Second off, get your installation CD and grab off of it all of the XCode and X11 files from the optional installs folder. There are files on the disc you need that you can't get from the website. Installing wine itself is a long process that I don't understand fully, but the method I used is here. Once you've done that, start up X11. Here's the annoying part- DF will run, but it won't accept your graphics settings from init.txt. So, open up Terminal, and enter "wine winecfg". Under the Graphics tab, select "emulate virtual desktop", and enter your preferred screen size in pixels. Then, go to init.txt and type in your graphics settings. THE SIZE SETTINGS MUST BE IN THE FULLSCREEN SIZE PREFERENCES. WINDOWED SIZE SETTINGS WILL NOT WORK. Make sure that if you're using your windowed settings from before to change the font back to curses_640x300.bmp.
Finally, open up Terminal again after saving everything. Either use "wine /PATH TO FILE/dwarfort.exe" or cd to the df_31_01 folder and enter "wine dwarfort.exe".
Enjoy your new, good-sized graphics!
So, Oh wise and mighty Toady One (armok be with him) when's the mac one out for? I'm super pleased that I get to wait for the mac version to come out, long after everyone else has been going on about the new version. Just thrilled.I'm getting about 35 FPS using wine on my mac. I dont see your problem. reveal left some blank spots but besides that its working fine. I just wish partial print would work. Debating putting my dwarfes on speed 2 or higher to make up for the low fps.
I got the languages figured out, the dwarf race is apparently 0xc8 now (200) instead of 166, and the creature vector is all set.Do you mean descriptions or do you just want a list of all the new labors?
The labors of course are completely different now, so that will take some time to map out. Has anyone enumerated all the new labors yet? On the wiki somewhere I mean?
