In world gen there are options you can change to make the caverns giant holes in the ground, right now i'm building a giant hollow stair case into one in dwarf mode, then gonna adventure around the ruins. Its not that big yet, more of a design attempt really.

Build a giant cast obsidian tower that starts in the first cave and juts up through to poke out of to the surface. Make the center hollow and toss goblins down it.

Training architecture? Why? I set every dwarf to have it, then forget about it after the 4th year of the fort. Eventually i end up with 1 dwarf who has some professional architecture.

Can i get like 12 more hours? DF just crashed on me as i was finishing up. Structures are mostly done, just didnt get a chance to save and all that jazz

Worshipcrystals! An Abbey from the mists of the worlds beginning, coincidentally FILLED with mist! Built through TWO aquifers, this wonderful underground structure has all your adventuring needs. Also not done yet. Maybe tonight, for sure tomorrow morning.

As someone who has had major re-constructive surgery, you really don't have to fear anesthesia. I've even had them mess up a bit. When you undergo a biggish surgery, they give you a paralytic AFTER you are out, and for me, they did it before i was completely passed out. Needless to say, it was a terrifying experience, felt like needles were digging into every part of my lower body (where they administered it). The assholes even had the tenacity to lie to my face about it afterwards (found out what happened from my primary physician after the fact). Point of the story is this; dont go to a podunk hospital in western washington like i did. Get yerself some place a wee bit classy.

What the heck does this mean? When i load my save in the newest version (even a clean install) i get this. Is the save dead or is there something i can do?
EDIT: Ok, now its doing it the whole time, on pretty much anything i try to load.

Just wondering how the building_custom works/is working. I'm on an embark with no anvil and dont seem to be getting traders (island life). Anyone know if i can mod the anvil req out of the forge and magma forge?

I've been wondering about this for a couple of weeks. I know at least in the last version that every once in awhile you would end up with a world sans a dwarf civ, how would one go about doing so in DF2010? I'm talking last dwarf group in the world, trying to get by with nothing but paranoia, lava and copious amounts of pointless engraving. A saved world with such a scenario, or the knowledge to generate it would be cool.

I want to make a fortress where there is a real reason for all the traps and goblin raids, there is no other dwarf fort to hit.
