as disappointed as you are.

castle crasher is nice.
fable is average. make it below average.

army of two is quite dumb but enjoyable.
halo is nice too.

if you have the right frient, the call of duty operations are quite intense and fun

I guess there are other I've played, but now I can't list them all.

still, way few than on the consoles of the old.

I love pc. all of my favorite games are on my pc. rts, simulators, and of course !!dwarf fortress!!

and then, the only place where I can have some serious multiplayer fun is on my console with those games having split screen.

you know, the kind of fun you could have in the nineties when cheating was unthinkable and you knew every other player you were facing.

waaaaaay better than online games of today.

coincidentally, I love the few games that have hotseat or local multipleyer on the pc (little fighter, to name one) but it's way more convenient to just have four controllers than fight with the keyboard limits.

money have been related to the corruption of the userbase of minecraft, not as a bad thing all by itself

I love Patrician III

It only gets redundant if you decide to let it.  There are so many opportunities to spice the game up after you've founded a city and have power in the Hanse.  Build a pirate hunting fleet of justice ... or build a dreaded pirate fleet ... or both!

Micro-management can also be automated once you've established a couple bases of operation.

City building in the home city is fun too.

Big fan.

reinstalled it out of nostalgia and this thread.

I love this game. just remember to set the difficulty up to at least to normal because easier one have a flawed economic model that saturates production in no time

I found parallel programming very easy.  I wrote a multi-processor 2D fractional Brownian motion algorithm using OpenMP + C++.

Then again I like to do template meta-programming in my sleep so my definition of easy might be unhelpful.  Also I bought Visual Studio Professional in order to do that, which costs over $1,000.

But I assume Dwarf Fortress would benefit the most from distributing fluid dynamics and path-finding in parallel.  Actually distributing boozing-up in parallel too as those lazy hairballs never seem to do anything else anyway.

if ( ! this->findPathTo (_worksite) )
    this->boozeUp();

well, duh. nobody says it's hard when you build a program ground up to be multithreaded. it's the conversion the problem.

what's the plan from mountainhome requests? will there be only prices hints as they're now about mountainhome needs, or will the caravan arc means that the mountainhome will now also make 'mandates' for us to comply?

the traders never really bring that much of what you ask for

in that regards, I hope a finer control over requests quantity will be added in (influencing prices, of course).

Nor there in Italy, and I guess in France neither, as they actually invented the SI.

USA have not adopted it, but I guess they use it anyway. Or at least they pay attention after the mars climate orbiter incident.

btw, I've seen brackets used for units, but when in dimensional analysis to disambiguate letters, not during printouts.

I know that LOL can be interpreted as "Laughing Out Loud" or "Lots Of Laughs," but can someone explain to me what "OLOLOLOL" means?

it's 70707070 backward, duh.
Which is actually 14913080 in the octal base.
Now, if we split it into double digits we get 14 91 30 80.
If we use base 26 modulus we get the following: 14 13 4 1. Now we transform (0-25->1-26): 15 14 5 2 and what we get is ONEC. As 70707070 is the rotated OLOLOLOL, we have to rotate it back and we receive CENO. It is a known fact that "cēnō" is "I dine" in Latin. Which only leaves one choice: glopso is a rapist cannibal bent on world domination.

MYSTERY SOLVED

... I have to know. How long did that take to work out?

t=87.971928[sec]±7E-6[sec]
erm... math nerd conspiracy theorist-ish person?

Please, the ± sign should indicate I'm just a physics student who recently finished reading Cryptonomicon. It's pretty clear from where I stand!

I was leaning toward math myself due the use of a non SI approved time unit. There are not the good physics students of the olds, I guess.

I'll admit I have a scar of the cgs way, but since when are seconds not SI approved?

s is SI approved. sec it is not.

Yea, I think the progress is the same, but it feels faster because its being focused. Inside of being nebulous in nature, we're seeing the short term goals being completed and it feels like its faster development.

this.

user interface/visible feature development always feel 'faster' because of the immediate feedback it gives.

users have a very nasty habit of misjudging the effort it takes to create any software. put together a loosely working set of fake web pages with non working fields and the users will think that the 90% of the work is done, while it's quite the opposite almost always.
