You realize that a platinum hammer would send a creature flying.

why you dont firbid his hammer because I think that we cant make weapons from aluminium
I guess I'll have to add a smelter reaction to make aluminum and platinum hammers.
Shame.

DF Gameplay Questions / How do I make weapons with aluminum/platinum?
« on: July 07, 2010, 04:12:38 pm »
I know aluminum is the lightest material, and I need it for a hammerer. When I attempt to make it out of aluminum, however, I can only make it out of certain materials.
Help?

It was NOT stone.
It was snow.
Imagine a flat plain.
Few trees.
Nothing else.
All covered in snow.

I was 100% certain that I embarked in the right place.
Warm temperature.
Mountains(All was flat), plains, and a stream.
Not even ice.

So I had plans to embark on a mountain/plains/stream combo. It ends up I arrive in some nondescript white field with trees.

DF Suggestions / Purchase Furniture on embark screen
« on: July 07, 2010, 08:22:56 am »
Sure, it may seem odd that you're bringing furniture along, but at least you could purchase beds or something. Bring along dressers for instant storage. I'd love to embark on a tree-less mountain with beds for the original 7, maybe more.

To answer your question, Chesire cat, they cannot.
They lack the [Intelligent] tag, so they are unable to rule.

Mining picks are both weapons and mining equipment.
Plus, the mining skill doubles as a fighting skill.
So, just max mining and fighter, and you'll have deadly dwarves.
I've managed to kill quite a few beasties with them.

I like mining picks.
Make 'em out of steel, and they will chew through anything.

I had my engraver engrave.
He engraved:
3 pictures of the local government(AKA me)
A high boot
A large roach
Blazing suns
A dwarf
Some random dwarf who is holding up a buckler(I don't even own one!)

Exit ramp optional? :P
Why, of course! after all, as soon as they go on a thrill ride, they won't stop!

Are your dwarves angry? Are they demanding ridiculous items? Are your dwarves depressed? Fear no longer! Simply dig a channel in a brook, place a grate on top, connect said grate to a lever, add a dwarf to a 1x1 burrow(No more than 1, or else it'll crash) on top of said grate. Have another dwarf nearby to pull the lever. Next thing you know, the dwarf is having the thrill of his life.
