How is Partha doing?

They have a mini-army (5 units?) bunkered up in their only city. The city is crap, and Scythia will never attack them. They have no income to ever build a sufficient army to attack Scythia.
The city is far away, and with capital in Antioch, we're talking about 60-80% unrest from distance only, so i doubt i'll bother with them.

However, this is a many-victory-conditions let's play. The first victory condition is wiping out Seleucid Empire (short campaign) and 15 provinces, the second is capturing Rome and  50 provinces. The third is the entire world. Although i'm not sure if i want to bother with the third one. Once (if?) we wipe out Rome, there will be nothing even remotely capable of slowing our troops down.
Barbarians vs Arrows = 0 Armenian loses.

I planned on stopping the LP at first victory, should there be no interest in it, but i'll be continuing till Rome.

I think you should spare Seleucids so they can build army made of cataphracts, elephants and chariots :P

They would need a few good cities to have a chance for that. At the moment, they only have two.
- Hatra that is sieged by Hound, and only has skeleton crew (with all troops going for Seleucia)
- And Damascus, which has another full phalanx stack (which inside a walled city.. sigh)
I believe they also have half-a-stack heading for Bostra.

Egyptians cockblock Jerusalem, and have another full stack heading for Petra PLUS half-a-stack or more left Alexandria a turn ago, and heads for Petra too.
What i think i'm going to do
Spoiler: Das Plan! (click to show/hide)

But we'll see.

As for romans : If they didn't get Marian Reform yet.. I'll use cheats and give it to them.
Edit : They are actually pretty far away from reforms (I have spies in Italy?! Yes) so Armenia is doing TOO well.
I'll help Romans by adding 12k people to each of their cities, so that reforms will pop in 5 turns.

Other Games / Re: Games With Realistic (Non-Propane) Flamethrowers?
« on: June 29, 2011, 07:58:21 pm »
The most realistic flamethrower i've seen (bear in mind that i didn't see too many) was in Enemy Territory : Wolfenstein. It wasn't a gun, it threw flames.

18th Century? I assume Poland is hell in that case, so this is where my vote goes! Ahoy!
(i also assume they have amazing cavalry)

1220
Some crappy, hopeless country that you have to unlock to play, obviously!

No chance of losing = no fun.

1221
Those Greek Phalanxes will be hell for the cataphracts if you attack 'em. Fortunately, the ENEMY GENERAL IS A FOOL

The Phalanx stack at Rhodes did a nice job actually. They didn't break formation, chasing my taunts (which has caused Seleucid to get roflstomped).
I actually had to charge them with the cheap-ass pirate mercenaries and eastern-mercs to make their formation open up, and only THEN i could kill them with arrows and cavalry charges.

Here, you can see that they died in large stacks, VERY close to my positions. This is when i charged with the useless mercs. You can also notice on the right flank, that they were surrounding me! (and stayed in formation ALL the time! Pretty good job for an AI)
I had to break them quickly, so as soon as my mercs charged, there were cavalry charges, and archer + slinger + skirmisher focus fire on every place possible. If Greeks got a few feet further, my men would suffer losses.

..and as Sheb pointed out = We only have gold because we pillage, plunder, and sell fake maps. (Exterminating Sidon's pop gave us 20 000 gold though! Egyptian cities at Nile will give that much too! EACH!)

Now.. Romans are an excellent foe to counter my tactics, because i rely on chain morale break, and 99% of roman units have "Excellent Morale" tag.

However, i've meant the humor, kind viewers. Santa being the bloodthirsty Armenian leader, family-friendly game of stoning, hamster being dead... The cheap Poem :D .. You know.. My cheap attempts at making good.. average.. poor jokes.
It's quite obvious that not everyone laughs at every joke, thus i am always looking for feedback regarding this particular element of the LP.

Also : Thank you for reading!

Now i have to play some more, because i've no material for next updates just yet!  :o

Rainbow is our old pal Stinky Wizzleteets? He'll teach us to be happy!

Actually it referred to Alora in BG1, both however referred to Burl Ives.. so a good catch nonetheless.

Still i'd wish to hear more feedback about the update, as it was.. different.
Don't be afraid, viewers, all my rage is gone (i watched some sports, and the team i think i was supposed to cheer for has lost. Although i'm not entirely sure which sport event i've watched. THey all look the same)

1223

(it refers to the first image in the entire LP, quotation of Mencius
This Update aims at breaking the fourth wall. A lot of combat is happening, but we focus on other things. The true identity of Armenia's leader may be a surprise to some, but really.. Nobody has specified what exactly is he doing in the 364 OTHER days of the year. Leading a bloodthirsty empire of stone-worshiping madmen is as good bet as any.. Especially before the year 0 (A.D?).
Everything about him is a lie, even the date of when he scours the earth is wrong.
Did you know that Armenians celebrate it 6th of January? Me neither.
Without further ado :
)

Spoiler: Road to Rhodes (click to show/hide)

Will "Ho, ho, ho" ever sound the same?

I forgot we were playing Rome: Gently Nuzzle the Greeks into Submission, oh wait we aren't.

Wait, what? Am i advancing too slowly, kind viewer? You want more conquering, fighting with the entire world and call me a coward?!?!?!

THAT'S THE SPIRIT!  ;D

1225
Hmm.. the images are quite "heavy" despite being JPG and 800x600 (0,4-0,6 mb). This may be the cause of them not loading for you, Mr.Person.

1226
You want to attack Rome? Did you finish Seuleucid, Egypt AND Greece?

Does it matter?! ARMENIA CONQ--- (wait for the next update  :o, will be posted today. It will clear a thing or two. Also note the "Once.." in poll question.)
It will also reveal who leads Armenian armies from behind the scenes. Legends say, he still lives till this day. You wouldn't suspect him to be the bringer of destruction.

Oi!

1227
Played for a few turns, and made quite a bit screenshots for the next update. Now i'll edit them.. Soon (perhaps tomorrow) the next update will be ready! World's Population gets cut down in just a few turns. Thousands upon thousands die.

Seleucid, Greeks and Egypt are all more powerful than us. Time to change it.  :o

New poll has been added.

Hmm.. from 204 screenshots i'll be using only 34.

1228
Who else has got cav archers? Scythia, Partha?

Yeah.
Also : Some nations have chariot archers
And then there are war elephants and armored elephants. (which we have no way of dealing with, other than using 102519169 arrows on each one)

A problem we'll face.. i hope AFTER we conquer the entire east.. is the fact that for the last X turns romans have gained at least one city per turn.
I believe this means a certain douchebag by the name of Gaius Marius did his reforms 150 years sooner than historically.
Although it's possible that they just brought a crushing number advantage, not reforms just yet.

1229
Added 2 screenshots under "DAMN YOU BORGE" that i somehow forgot to add before.
Problem with Egypt and Seleu is that we'll have to crush them on a roundly basis for quite a while to win.

1230

The weather is terrible, and i had trouble jacking o--- focusing on the humor in the LP, thus it is of lower quality (fairly warned be thee, sez i). Hopefully it will rain soon...
