The USD seems to be doing pretty good. But hey, I only warned at ~40 rub/usd that it was going to continue to new lows.

You can just admit you didn't look it up before saying Rosneft is privately owned.

Quote
Rosneft is the leader of Russia's petroleum industry and the world's largest publicly traded petroleum company.

Also I'll give you a hint; you only sell of stakes in enterprises that you think aren't going to be worth more in the future. Rosneft is one of those. That, and the Kremlin is desperate for actual cash.

Seems to be some leading indicators of things to come

Lol. Okay then. Rosneft is privately owned because the Russian government is privately owned. Lol. Just say 'I didn't look it up before saying something totally incorrect, I apologize for trying to double down on a number that I didn't look up beforehand'

Rosneft was privately owned
=/=
Rosneft is 70% owned by Russia

But that's okay. I'm just saying you're wrong. It's more terrible news for the Putin cartel.

Rosneft was privately owned by oligarchs anyway.

Owners
Russian government (69,5%), BP (19,75%)

Yeah, we know.

Ukraine is obviously the weaker one, changing presidents and forcing Russia to invade them to preserve their waning sphere of influence and attempt to show the other satellite nations they'll invade for not toeing the line. Truly a strong nation, kept in line with fear and guns.

Click your heels together and say 'the ruble devaluing at a record rate is a good thing' and it'll come true

I believe the entire thing was written and setup months before the rights were acquired by Disney. That's true, though, it could be after the fact Disney/Abrams meddling. Not that he isn't known to bastardize other notable works cultural icons of scifi.

Or they just won't talk about it at all.

Oh no, knowing GL, if he made it up and/or there was a retcon, he will make a character painstakingly explain the ridiculous retcon in character.

After the Galactic Republic was transformed into the Galactic Empire, Imperials began brokering negotiations with the clan chieftains of Mandalore in order to establish a garrison base on the planet and acquire the rights to mine for Mandalorian iron. An offer of eight hundred million credits was issued for exclusive beskar mining rights in the verdant Tokursh region of Mandalore, and the MandalMotors company was solicited to refurbish old prison ships and construct new ones with Mandalorian iron enhancements. In addition, requests were made to acquire specialist beskar equipment including manacles, holding cages, and security doors.[4] However, as time passed, relations between the Empire and Mandalore changed from cordial to hostile: Mandalore was taken over by the Imperials and its people enslaved.[22] The Empire strip-mined Mandalore's shallow veins of beskar ore, shipping a significant amount offworld[1] before Fenn Shysa and the Mandalorian Protectors were able to liberate Mandalore from the Empire.[22] Around this same time, the Sith Lady Lumiya used Mandalorian iron to construct portions of her lightwhip.[23]
Lots of time passes; is forgotten about and only old pieces are recycled into armor and such by people such as Boba Fett

Rediscovery, during the aftermath of the Yuuzhan Vong War:
Quote
After the end of the galactic invasion by the Yuuzhan Vong and their devastating attack on Mandalore, a new source of Mandalorian iron was discovered in 40 ABY. Heeding the orders of reigning Mand'alor Boba Fett, two Mandalorians—one a geologist, and the other a minerals engineer—were returning to Mandalore when they decided to take an orbital scan of the surface damage that had been incurred by the Yuuzhan Vong.

In other words, I have no idea what the lightsaber is actually made of. It's got to be Mandalorian Iron. Phrik, and Cortosis/similar materials are literally unobtainable. It's a silly retcon, as the new Star wars isn't even going to be in the same universe as the Yuuzhan Vong conflict because reasons. Probably going to be a spiel about 'finding plenty enough of it to make into lightsabers'. But either way, you can cut through it. You need to alloy Mandalore Iron with something else to make it impervious to lightsabers. /seriouslynerd

Or it'll even be a brand new material George Lucas makes up on the spot, he likes doing that.

Well, considering the only time anyone 're-discovers' Mandalorian iron in the post-Empire era is during the Yuuzhan Vong War, and this new movie isn't set in the actual extended universe I find it highly questionable that alternative universe lightsabers have the material for the same reason. What, they magically make some freakin Phrik? Discover a random lode of it for some arbitrary reason to allow ridiculously impractical lightsaber designs to be slightly less impractical? :/

Well, except with this

If you blocked another saber and it deflected onto the hilt, it'd just cut your saber in half. The crossguard would only make sense if the cross section itself was also lightsaber beam material. The handles aren't magically immune to lightsabers. That's only certain materials that are assumed lost. Unless they're already doing retcons for stupid reasons like this. /nerd
