MOTHER OF CHRIST THE SAVE BROKE WHILE I WAS GETTING READY FOR MEGA UPDATE.

Have you checked the autosaves at all? Might be able to backup from those. Also you honestly weren't very far in, you could just start a new one.

So, I'm wondering when we'll see the next update. We got 1 update early, but like nothing since.

Just got a sweet new workshop upgrade here. So I can provide some really nice new jewelry to help those new or old players alike. Just need to drop me a message in game letting me know what trade skill or terrain skill you want a ring/pendant for.

If you need a new ring, contact Dlynn in game. Otherwise you can check this link.

It still does need certain people to enter in their skill data, but there is enough there to get the name of someone who can likely provide the item(s) you need.

Yes, using the inheritance system is a good way to start over when moving from possibly incompatible versions. I've tested it moving forward and even backward with a E+ 1.21 save and inherited stuff to a new vanilla elona character. Just make sure what you are inheriting exists in the version you are moving too, especially if you are backtracking or moving from a mod to vanilla. I've got a nice list of exceptional artifacts that I've been moving with me through my chars. Some found on my earliest chars in vanilla, some a good deal more recent with my e+ adventures.

If you are new or even not so new, send me a message in-game or in the steam chat. I may be able to set you up with a nice ring/pendant that can give a fairly significant skill or terrain boost.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: change item colour

It has been awhile since I played around with stone colour, but try 0:8:1. I think that should give you a uniform dark grey.

Yeah, just remove the basic colour tag. Make sure you do the edit in the raws of your save folder.

If I recall, dacite is one of the stones that has a "basic colour" tag or some such. It changes the colour of the stone and items made from dacite in some ways. The wiki does have more information on it.

70% and yes, df probably upped my score on this considerably from what it would have been had I taken this before.

In my experience, you really need at least mid 30s before you start finishing them reliably. Otherwise look for the big groups of beggars and if there isn't any, just kill some npcs for artifacts.

Though if you are serious about perfomance quests, get yourself a set +performance gear.

A few questions:

1. How much AP should I save before moving to South Tyris? I have arond 1700 now but I feel like I should go to the Void or something to farm more after Shiramizu's posts.

2. What should I spend all that AP on? Speed boosts, I presume?

3. Do Magic Storm, Crystal Spear, Dark Eye, or any other magic attack ever start outdoing Magic Dart? I feel like Nerve and Dark Eye are catching up in terms of dice, and the elemental bolts are starting to surpass it, but those are all reliant on hexes to lower resistances. Both elemental and hex resistance are super high on bosses, so I feel like if I just spammed Magic Dart instead of trying to get Nightmare or Element Scar off, I'd be able to take things out faster. Meanwhile, the two other magic-type attacks are just weak right now, and more expensive in gold and MP. If I level them up, they may get more powerful but they'll also get even costlier. On the other hand, higher level enemies' resistances also all scale up, including magic...

4. What should I save small medals for? I'm thinking either the tonfa or Sage's Helm, but I'm not really sure I'd use either. I've heard good things about the Diablo but how does it compare to, say, the Mournblade? How about a sweet artifact sword?

5. How do you go about getting these sweet artifacts anyway? I mean, I find plenty of great and miracle quality items off quests and salaries and the like, but I only spot good things on black markets and adventurers very rarely.

6. What should I choose as a reward from the little sisters quest? I've read that hero cheeses and the mana-boosting food (I forgot, sorry) are the only good choices unless you've lost a precious item or something, but I've also heard hoping for miracle stuff can net you some nice gear too.

1. As has been said you can travel back and forth freely. No need to worry about saving ap before reaching south tyris. Though if you want ap purely for boosting your speed I do suggest you save as much as possible before you spend it. As your speed increases it gets progressively harder to gain more ap. You can get around the 3000 ap cap and store a little over 7000 ap if you take advantage of buying the barrier skill and the other 2000 ap skill that lets you get a full refund on them when you don't want them anymore. My lil girl is at 500 base speed now, and I have to take her fairly deep into the void to get any ap.

2. Speed boosts are probably one of the better picks, but there are a handful of situational skills that might be handy to have depending on your pet.

3. I haven't really tried using much offensive magic in E+, fraid I can't help you much. Though I was doing pretty well with the nightmare+nerve arrow combo back in vanilla. Could solo spiral kings and such with it, though it took a long long long time to kill.

4. I prefer hermes bloods for my small medal usage. The unique artfacts can be nice and may be worth the one time purchase cost. Though a hammer is handy if you have a worthy enough non-artifact item to use it on, bit of a gamble though unless you don't mind scumming it. Waters are a waste of medals though if you have a pot of fusion already. The recipe to make the bottles of water is easy enough to get.

5. No real way I've noticed. Just keep doing everything you do to get random artifacts. And one of these days you'll luck out and the rng will roll something exceptionally worthwhile. I find tons of junk artifacts before I find a nice one capable of truly wowing someone.

6. Hero cheese, mana food, happy apples are good picks. But you can keep rerolling the rewards and occasionally get a really nice random artifact. Godly equipment can come up in the reward list, just depends on your patience. It can take a lot of rerolls.

Nice, it is starting early? Anyways looks like an ok start position, and there is a tasty mineral bonus nearby for early production.

Probe teams are not invisable. Probe teams can indeed mind control enemy units. The problem comes when the enemy stacks 2 or more units together on the tile. Then the probe team can't do a thing about them. Deathstacks will kill a probe based defense strategy. And any faction can make stacks of units, and even the ai knows enough to stack units. Hence why having a real standing military is neccesary.

It has already been mentioned, but if the civ has the hunter seeker algorithm secret project, they are effectively immune to probe teams until late game. There are also the believers who by virtue of having a high probe rating can also be immune to probe teams. You can potentially have 2 factions that will completely laugh at your probe team based defense. The believers are also a very aggressive geared faction in both the ai and human hands. The probe team weaknesses are one of the main reasons the angels are generally seen as fairly weak faction overall.

Rush buying your army when the enemy first appears will get you some troops to fight back with, but it still takes a turn for the troops to be built and then a turn or 2 to move them to the front. In the meantime you have a dedicated warmonger running rampant over a bunch of your underdefended  bases and using your own road network to drive deep into your territory.

Morgan is a master of the economy. Why should he waste that mastery on unit upkeep instead of using the saved money to purchase a conveniently-located, SotA army whenever he needs to go to war?

Because Morgan and other builders are using the "clean reactor" ability on their units. This ability makes the unit cost zero support. They are essentially free of maintenance, and you can have hundreds of them. It is probably one of the most gamebreaking abilities. Especially since it means a builder can put the entirety of their sterling industy capacity to work making even more. There is no reason for Morgan not to have tons of these units to support his probe teams.
