So what I want to do is to be able to butcher dwarves bodies, as it were, using a special building that you would dump corpses in and out would come skeletons and food. Is this possible? Has it been done before? Will it cause the 'unhappy at witnessing a friend's body decay'? Is it possible for it to assign a different type of food to each race used?

WW2 era game. Squad based FPS. Before 2002 (I think). Had vehicle combat (I don't believe you could drive vehicles though). No multiplayer options.

If I mod my RAWs s the dwarves are okay with slavery, will that mean that I will get immigrants of other races? Will I have to add other tags to make it work or will it never work?

Peg legs.

No, seriously, stay with me.

You've all experienced the adventurer or special Dorf who loses a limb. If it's just an arm, that's no problem...but what about a leg? He's stuck with a crutch. Why not, instead, allow severed limbs to be replaced by peg legs and hooks?


They would use crutch walking for peg legs, but would free up an arm for a weapon OR if that arm was severed.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Motor nerves

So as it happens, one of my Dorfs had decided that the best way to deal with a goblin ambush was to rush out there wearing only a cap(in fact I think he stole it from one of the goblins...) and fight.

He won, with a single injury - he had his left foot's motor nerve cut.

Fearing the worst, that he would be unable to work as a fighter again, I put him into the training squad.


Lo and behold, merely two years later.

The health screen says he still has a severed motor nerve, while the Dorf himself, having finally gotten legendary crutch walking, tells me he's got nothing wrong with himself, so he ditched the crutch. Is this normal behaviour? Why is he still able to walk around?

Hi.
I'm making a 40k mod for DF, and I have a few questions.

Firstly, is it possible to have caste based profession names?
Is it possible to have a caste have a gender but be unable to breed?
Is it possible to change ranges on weapons?
Is it possible to lock a weapon into a specific size for use? Not just a minimum, but a maximum size to use.
Is it possible to use mounts for forts at the moment? If so, how healthy does the rider have to be and is it possible to have attacks hit the mount exclusively?
Lastly, is it possible to set a group of possible names for a civilisation?

I have created a new race. Trouble is, it is extremely caste based. And I want some specific versions of the breeder castes to create only a specific caste. Is this possible and if so, how would I do it?
