Build Crossbow, make bolts, assign weapon. Archery Target. I think a quiver too.
What happened to the strenght/agility/etc stats from 40d? Is it still there, but hidden?

197
Lets start the bets. How many will die to the following Trantrum Spiral before the next migrant wave?

Yea the new military is hella confusing. I understand the squad - kill order, alerts, training in barracks. The problem comes with my two military dwarves being way too slow to catch potential threat.

Okay this is...

They use it to desinfect, not drink.

15th Opal, Mid-Winter

"Thats it! I'm tired of those naked moles stealing all our food! I chased the last one all over the site for a week! I never even got close to the bastard!" Sarvesh screamed out.
"Well our armor is heavy, and the wildlife will run at the first hint of trouble." replied Ragnar Thunderbeard, the assigned Captain of the Guard.
"Our stockpile being outside the camp isn't helping the problem either. I'll have the food moved in ASAP. And we should recruit hunters - they might have a better chance at catching those things."
"Nevertless, we still have more combat training to do, the both of us. The ocean provides us with all the food we could ask for."
"Tell me that when they're stealing my *Dwarven Cheese Biscuits*!!"
"Oh Sarvesh, I forgot to tell you. Bard beat you to the status of Legendary Miner."
"Darnit! When?"
"Last week, in the Gypsum mine."
"I'll have a chest build for him. Anything else?"
"Not at the moment."

Urist McCoy, Chief Medical Dwarf, has been struck down by a Giant Bat. The Giant Bat was named, then fled the scene at the sight of Mossbeard and Thunderbeard. Apparently Sarvesh is so afraid of Bats, he dropped his pick at the sight of the Giant Bat. Both the Upper and Lower body has been found and proprelly buried.

Our first wave of migrants have arrived.

1 Blacksmith.
1 Tanner, Turning Butcher.
1 Dyer, turning clothier.

1rst Malachite.
My thoughts to poor Derek, who's hand been torn open by an elk bird. While the wound isn't fatal, we have no reliable water source. We have to build a de-salination reservoir before Derek dies of thirst.

13th Malachite.
Desalination Powerplant operational. We have a water source - Derek is saved! Now to install the well.

18th Malachite.
Derek has died from thirst... there goes our only woodcutter. We all worked so hard toward the water source.

24th Malachite.
Now Bardie got wounded fighting a trologdyte. better wall of that cavern. We got water now, so he should be fine.

18th Limestone.
Urist the Blue has grown attached to a spider silk coat. Okay.

12th Sandstone
New wave of Migrants. A miner, a woodcutter, a jeweler and a peasant. I've taught the peasant the basic of crafting mechanicms. Oh, and a competent hammerdwarf. I think we found our first military dwarf.

"-Derek...
-What?!
-Where's the sand? All I'm seeing is shale.
-Sand? What sand?
-Darnit Derek. We need sand to make glass. There's no beach here."
-Oh. Yea. Derp. By the hills, soil layer. Can't miss it, all over the place."

"Great. Dig up a large room in the soil, build some beds, move the supplies over, setup the workshops. And prepare a campfire for tonight. We start building the foundations tommorow at dawn."

Sorry Derek. You started with a copper axe. Couldn't get anything better.

A new version. A new fortress. Time for something different. A fortress made entirely of clear/green glass. The majority of it will be hidden under the ocean. Its like an aquarium, except its fortress-sized. Once its finished, its beauty will make any elves jealous. I've got plans for such a place, and it'll become a major trade center if I get it my way.

But first we need to lay down the foundation. I need to find me 6 good dwarves ready to work day and night to dam the ocean and smelt green glass. I need good dwarves to build walls, doors, beds, chairs, and tables from clear glass. I need a mechanic to help us build magma pumps. I need a cook so we don't have to eat plump helmets all year long.

I'll handle the rest. Here's the plans.

I've seen good dwarves die horrible ways. I saw Timmeh, our woodcutter, getting mauled by dead trolls. I saw poor Kogan, molested by a forbidden beast, draw his last breath on tentacles. I saw my wife Nist taken into the sky by a giant eagle. But nothing, nothing as horrible as that deadly rain, melting poor Urist before my eyes.
