DF Suggestions / Medecine

Now that we got hospital and alchemy I think medecine won't be out of place in Dwarf Fortress.
At least the basic stuff. Extract from a plant, send to alchemy workshop, get Painkillers.

Desired effects:
-Pain Killer: Remove pains when ingested.
-Coagulant: Diminish Bleeding.
-Antivenom: Help against syndroms

"We got lucky. It was only a small ambush, and they were pretty much untrained. Its no wonder I've slaughtered them."

"Whats the worst case scenario?"
"Being unprepared. They will come back, with more goblins. Stronger goblins. Better goblins. And marksmans. We need a stronger military."
"If I put you in charge of the military..."
"Am I not already?"
"Let me finish."
"I want you to select and train fellow dwarves in the way of arms. Then appoint captains from the best of them, so they get their own squads. I want to see squads of axedwarves, hammerdwarves and crossbowdwarves at the very least. Can you handle it?"
"I was born for this! Well, beside slaughtering gobbos!"
"And don't let those charge headfirst into battle like Axebane did!"

All in favor of a milkable tarrasque? (Y/N)
NOTRAPS, PET_EXOTIC, MILKABLE, Milk Value x150 - Cheese x300.
Normally un-catchable, but if you menage to stun it.. oooh boy.

Okay seriously now, I'm thinking about removing spheres from the Tarrasque.
Since I made it steal food and drinks, it will often attack civilization sites. Thats cool.
Sometimes it will kill and eat people in its path. Usually guards disturbing it. Thats cool too.
Since it is so fearsome, it gets new workshippers each trip. Thats where it gets complicated.

The victims of the Tarrasque workship it - for them it represent death and chaos.
I really meant it to represent death, and destruction. It has no malice. It is not evil.
But it turns its followers evil. Death and Chaos is demonkind's field. See the problem yet? It turns entire civilizations on each other.
By the time world gen is done, all elves and humans are either co-habiting with goblins, or in ruins.
And that... is not what I wanted.

Allright then. Version 1.0.7 going up.

-Fixed typos on Inorganic_Underdark. Old version still works because both lines had the typo.
-Moved Mithril to its own raw. Fixed Mithril, added Raw Mithril, should propelly spawn now. Doubled spawn rate. (2%).

If anyone wanna create something new for 1.1.0, now is the time. I'm gonna start working on the myconids now that we have more shrooms in the pack.

Its up now. This time you need to generate a new world for these changes to apply.
I'm just gonna copy my current game so I can keep testing new stuff.

Hmm, I see 3 of Sarvesh's tarrasques up near the top.  All are associated with Death, two are also associated with Chaos, but one is associated with Cheese.
Cheese? Seriously? ... Now I gotta add Tarrasque Milk and Cheese. @_@
I guess we can't limit them to one per world. =/

Hey guys, I've played two full years and saw no interaction with the underground race. I think its due to LAYER_LINKED, wich makes them behave like the animalmens. Yea, they're around, but they're not exactly building anything, nor will they send caravans.
We need someone to test it without layer_linked. If that doesn't help, then its hard-coded.

They did scream, when the lasher was killed, taken down in a swift blow.
They saw their death, and knew nothing they could do would save them.

Listast crawled back to Sarvesh, her lover (In-game they are!), her second toe broken, dust covering her face...
"Honey! What happened?! I heard a loud noise!"

Listast raised her hand, took a deep breath, then answered... "A cave-in. I was lucky. Others not so. Solon was crushed instantly. Dead in an instant. And oh god Sarvesh, if you seen DiesHorribly.."

"Dies Horribly?"
"Olon DiesHorribly. The Soap Maker. You made fun of his name last year when he moved in. His skull smashed up. He still lives, only barely, his guts, ribs, head, and right hand heavily wounded. He bled all the way to the hospital. We're not sure he's gonna make it.
"Thats a horrible way to go. Allright. Here's what we gonna do. We'll bury Solon, engrave the crypt, have a funeral. Dumat should take care of Dieshorribly, he's in good hand. I'll replace Solon as a miner until we get new migrants. Continue digging up the ramp, but be careful, I don't want a repeat."

"Tonight mark our second winter living in these caverns, surviving against all adversity. Tonight, we celebrate, for justice is about to be delivered. A fel beast, under the name of Inethaser, has murdered two of our kind the first summer. His pack was taken down, but the beast still lives."
Mumurs fills the room and the two childrens hid behind their parents.
"No more, says I. It swims under the west spamp, hiding under the waves, out of reach of our military's wrath. For years it hid, and done such despite not being an aquatic creature. But we have prepared a righteous hammer, from wich the dwarven gods will struck it down, for the glory of Deephome!"

"Now turn your gazes to the west, as Inethaser gets struck down once and for all."
"Tikot, pull the lever please!"
