I haven't paid any attention to the .18 bugs, so I don't know how stable it is.There's a ton of coffins in the mini-pyramid.
It's up to you. If you want to move it over for all the fun stuff and you think it's stable enough I'd go for it. Might be fun if we got some haunting. I don't know if everyone ended up buried or not.
In 31.16 and earlier, you can put multiple creatures in a single cage.I have yet to kill a cat for a catsplosion. I always nip the problem in the bud early, make a cage first off from my carpenter's workshop, and cage all kittens as soon as the game alerts me to them.I wish I had done this sooner. Because only one can be used at a time, to cage one animal at a time, the rate of kittens being born now requires four cages built. After I get the max population, then I'll look at revoking the grandfather clause on the current pets, but I'm a bit concerned about the hot-tempered soldiers who are cat lovers.
Speaking of which, any way to edit the raws so that cat birth = pause game?

No, the problem is that right now DF is outright ignoring my init files. Haven't figured out why its only affecting some and not all of my versions of df (each succession has its own folder)(It's on the 28th of Obsidian, last day of the year)It's of no concern to me, but I'd suggest turning on seasonal (or yearly) autosaves and posting the autosave from the 1st of Granite. If someone has that turned on, they'll be bothered by the autosave right after they load your save.
