Knowing that artifacts ignore material constraints, would it be possible to make a slade-containing artifact, despite slade being absolutely unuseable even if it is somehow mined?

Question: If your mooding weaponsmith is demanding, of all things, SLADE, do you exploit-channel some slade to see if he will make some sort of slade inclusive artifact? His preferences: "Slade, raw adamantine, raw adamantine, adamantine". Dunno why it says raw adamantine twice, but whatever. this is v 31.12.
Oh and all my other embark dwarves have either a preference for adamantine, slade, or both.

Edit the ethics to make everything acceptable. Get the least social embark dwarf to kill the other dwarves and trade their clothes for elephant cages. May not be very manly, but is hilarious to watch.

Oh I'm sorry, I should have stated this earlier, I use Phoebus Graphics, from the Lazy Newb Pack. I'm pretty sure mono does as well, and that's why my save and his save are completely different from everyone else.
Uhhh, I'm using phobeus. Something in the lazy newb pack/init files doesn't agree with my computer and causes the weird display.

Alright, I'm thoroughly confused.  Trooper, what tileset were you using?  Vanilla and Mayday both produce something I can't play in.
You need to copy the raws and save data to your own version of 20.12. I got this error from the original game:

So, some news - there are no cities whatsoever, almost no population (just a few widely-spaced huts far away from each other), goblins' and dwarves' farms are just empty land (no forts) and the first river I came upon was lifted 1 z-level above the land with walls jutting up around it. Hooray bugs.
or worldgen did something weird. I mean, remember the adamantine space elevator?

Add SPEED:9001 to their creature entry in creature_standard.txt and they should shut up fast. Well... very slowly. Note that they'll be completely and utterly useless like this, and I haven't tested the side-effects of making things ridiculously slow.

Alternatively, just remove their legs from the body line.
If you make them move too slowly, they will not move, not move, not move, not move... then suddenly teleport off at a ridiculous speed. this is at [SPEED:100000].

If that happens, maybe you could get them to wield multiple crossbows. ONE THOUSAND BOLT FURY.
No good. You can only use one weapon at once.
It would be like in those shows where the character pulls out a gun with only one bullet in it, fires a shot, drops the gun and PULLS ANOTHER GUN WITH ONLY ONE BULLET IN IT OUT.
mod it to make the crossbow drop once fired

Actually back in the day where reloading took you two hours and lots of patience, that was something people did. They didn't carry one gun with lots of ammo, they just carried LOTS OF GUNS.

We had dwarf migrants.  There were... 21 or so when I started it...
That's because you are guaranteed the first two migrant waves, regardless of how few dwarfs you have left
