Expanded a room, TWO FBs turn up at once, one has deadly dust...

Ten dead plus, a Spearmaster, one of the first to achieve an Epic kill (of a Titan). Even Candy armor cannot pretect your lungs from the FB poison :(

One of the Spire-coves is being fitted with a Silver Coffin and Steel Door for his eternal rest. It will be engraved by legendary engravers only.

Pumps 'filter' water and water wont go stagnant if it never touches natural-stone,, i.e you have to dig out an area 1 bigger than intended and then construct walls and floors to line the cistern - if you then use a pump to get the water into the cistern it should stay clean.
Mud on the floor is unavoidable unfortunatly - a symptom of letting players flood areas to gain farmable plots.
This means that if a cistern water-level drops enough, trees can germinate in the mud and your water-supply can end up getting blocked by trees growing under the wells or infront fo the floodgate etc - which is why a 2 Z-Level deep cistern is preferable. But if its constantly being filled by the river its unlikly to fall low enough for trees to sprout.

Oh gods, my current embark has Buzzards AND Keas, they started stealing all my stuff. Marksdwarves were recruited before axedwarves. In fact im having a problem keeping up with bolt production, the only metal I seem to have is a lot of gold. I guess i'll be buying my iron and steel ( or wait for the goblinite to turn up).

That reminds me of how as humans we create single-crystal metal ingots, i.e a *perfect*, molecularly continuous, large lump of metal.

8-Bit = 2^8 = 256 colours.
16-Bit = 2^16 = 65536 colours.

All tilesets in Dwarf-fortress are at your computers naitive colour-depth (typically 24-bit)

The resolution of the graphics (detial per tile) is determined by the tile-set used, most are 8 or 16 pixels wide and high as it is affords a comprimise between the number of tiles visible on screen and the detail in the tiles, feel free to make a 32 pixel tileset but be warned that not much will be visible on screen at the 1:1 zoom level.

We are now a Barony!
Sieges are still not providing much challenge.
Epic Baroness is one of our best warriors too.
Im starting on a magma-pump-stack from the Magma-Sea all the way up to ground level, thanks to all the goblinite i have plenty of iron for the pumps. Going to include resivoir-levels on the way up.
Drowing trap needs improvement in the mean time.

Well a google shows its a "Solifugid" not a spider, doesnt spin webs and doesn't (in most cases) have venom, good lord i wouldn't want to meet one though.

I wasn't even aware there WERE diplomats. This was from an elven caravan.

Did he have his meeting on a wooden chair on a wooden-tiled floor in a room with wooden walls, wooden statues wooden table, wooden cabinets and wooden door, with a woodcutter expedition-leader?
