Okay, I'll hazard a reading of Black Lagoon

(my audio systems are fucked, D:)
Spoiler: The one in the maid outfit is a Terminator......acurate, but an an understatement really.

I doubt anything would get through that...

As Knigel said, you're gonna' have to really rely on various things from throwing stuff to breaking bones to effectively take out opponents because even with max stats it won't always be easy. Especially regarding larger opponents that can't be grappled easy...misc objects themselves aren't the most efficient, either thrown or smacked with, unless they're fairly large.

Actually from your thread title...I was expecting you to want to be able to do this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

But alas...that's near impossible too with vanilla races right now.

wait this means we can fill up a old fort with companions?
Hmmm...sorry, can't test that. This save have collected a lot of "bugs & anomalies" like:
- underground items all over town
- certain towns turning to FPS sinksholes or actually makes the game crash (One of them the only goblin tower)
- being able to psychically Shift+A & take down "Clowns" from above ground
- being unable to embark anywhere cuz' it leads to crashing the game as well, etc.

Guess I'll need to test this theory on a new world and the new update...

So, just finished with the plot-relevant part of Clannad: After Story (there are some other episodes that don't seem to be part of the main plot that I'll probably get around to, but whatever).

That might just be the best thing I've ever watched.

I didn't really care for the way they resolved things, but the stuff preceding that resolution was absolutely incredible. I skipped the first four episodes or so because of the stupid sit-com antics they were pulling, but once you get past that, it is amazing. I thought the first season had some great storytelling, but this was amazing. I am unashamed to admit I cried, a lot. You should go watch it, even though it's really sad.
You skipped some >:(? Watch all of it! Each & every one of 'em, enjoy every inch of the special bread-jammu combo! Do try to enjoy & appreciate the full picture in the centerfold rather than focusing solely on her assets and.....uh, wait....bad example...

thanks kobold but this is only in adventure mode in .13 and not able to be performed in say .10?
I think I'm using .11 version (kept forgetting If I updated mine w/ the .12 files or not). Yes we do treat meatshield's deaths rather apathetically but this method is for those that have served you well & fought with valor & deserves some R&R...

...or, like me, to get rid of those who had some lower spine or leg injury resulting in a crawling injured mess saying "hey, wait up!" every few squares (Although by accident, I actually populated the ruined town with old companions & even changed the ruin icon to normal occupied town icon. Though now they have some wolf & cougar neighbours & room-mates in their ruined little houses).

...Come to think of it...you could probably make a small community filled with different races.

444
Ok...here's the steps:

1. Got to be in sneaking mode
2. Encounter hostile/scared animal target
3. You have to be Spotted and/or attacked
4. Take out target (with or w/o help from companion....not sure, let 'em get a hit at least)
5. Companion will somehow "Lose sight of you" and just stand there. To check talk to them and you will see:

It's as if they're in town again...

Want to check? Sure...just 'T'ravel:

For science's sake I continued to obsherve the creahtures in thay're natural habitat. Crickey! The buggah's seem to be heading to a local Elven town ruin!

And I lost sight of 'em in Travel mode. I circled around to be sure and I then entered the Old Ruins, destroyed in a Elven-Human War that is still goin' on so that's probably why they didn't go there even when it's nearer, and suprise suprise:

The drunk guy crawling in the ground is my first companion that I lost the old fashioned way: when he got distracted chasing wolves & monkeys. But alas, they will automatically join you again if you "find" them so I just redid the ol' trick to lose the buggers.

Extra Notes:
-This is an old save, it's my 1st Kobold adventurer from earlier versions that I kept on transferring to updated ones (currently using .11 or .12) & one side effect of it is that even though I am covered w/ scars, I can no longer see that descriptions (Although the body parts with old wounds still have colored text.

So this may actually just be an anomaly or weird glitch. Do try it yourselves and share your results.

How do i do that?  I can only find the .13 version.

Thank you for choosing Bay12's Dorf Help Center. For further questions, please head to the Magma Chamber to your left and talk to our supervisor Armok D. Bloodlust - The Devourer of Dawn.

Personally, I don't play a new DF  version if it doesn't have  a new update/feature/fix for Adventure Mode :P

so does this mean there isn't anything to do in adventure mode right now?  Cause this is my first time playing the game and it would suck if i had to wait for an update for what feels to me like the most interesting part.  :'(

Been encountering Harpies a lot lately...tried something while sneaking behind one distracted by my partner:

Yup...my adventurer jumped after it & in 3 moves defeated it.

Tried it on different creatures as well & found it quite effective as simple as it is. Guess I've found a rather efficient way to take out multiple foes 99% of the time in only a few turns as long as I'm are fast enough (CQC baby!)...my adventurer was a Kobold with legendary stats sure, but he was a tiny twerp compared to most.

Get a white & black cat... preferably one with an odd speech. Or if you can a coyote...

During a goblin ambush, a mother of two(legendary axedwarf/wrestler, squad captain) died, leaving two orphan children behind. I started to feel bad, so I booted up Runesmith. Turns out that messing with those tags is a very bad idea. I guess i'd messed with the undead tags, so even though i could still assign labors and such, she was treated as a skeletal dwarf. Her first task was to seek her infant. She picked it up. Then, she squeezed. There was a shower of blood. This woman proceeded to murder both of her children before being put down by her former squadmates.
Of all the various media that you've seen...the message is is pretty clear that 99% of the time:

Necromancy Bad
