I dunno, maybe it's smaller than it looks. If it were, the axe handle would clearly be an excellent bottle opener.

And holding an axe at the very end of the handle is a good way to lose control of the axe.

I failed to have my 20+ goblin drowning chamber/indoor pond ready before I went to work today.  Didn't remember to link up the cages until the moment before I pulled the lever.

Sounds interesting. What game is this?

Frig this, I'm making another char. Taking Merlin as inspiration, I intend to build a gimmick character.

Flight, Brute Strength, Ultraclotte, and Solar Sponge/Rubberskin. Plus Carrie.

Damn right. I am going to be Post-Apocalyptic Superman.
Beat you too it. Or at least Im working on it.

Yeah, I figured. I'm just gonna go with Post Apocalyptic Tom Turbine, dropping the Flight for mere Leapfrog, and making sure to grind up fists quick so I can acquire Tesla or Edison Gauntlets.

I say we call him Aggravated Grapneloid. So we can be confused.

So movie Narsil did indeed have special magick properties, the kind of which would be necessary to smite Sauron? Suddenly, it becomes clear that movie Narsil isn't merely a well-made weapon, but a weapon with intrinsic qualities against the forces of darkness! Which Sauron is!*

On the other hand, the Witch King at least proves that normal steel can do quite a bit of damage to LoTR's demigods, as long as it goes in the right place.

(I actually read that as the wielder's property, not the blade's. Aragorn was the rightful king, after all, and only he could hold the ghost king to his oath. Which in some way allows him to parry an unparriable weapon.)

Transnational fiber-optic cable sodomy is not my idea of an ideal hacking method.

I'd like to be in the waiting list, I'll add the char soon.

Aright, man. Haspen cooked up an additional two, in case you want to look at them.

Project MARATHON
Winged Feet:
 +1 to movement rolls
Can perform action in the same turn of a movement. (example: running over obstacle and then opening a door with a lever)

You Have a Message:
One-sided telepathy (MARATHON -> others) at short range.

Sneak Thief:
Can steal objects from distance.
------

Project QUEEN

Majestic:
 +1 to social interactions.

Jealous:
+1 to attack and damage rolls against females.

he's never led a guerrilla mission in his incredibly long life.
Incorrect. He led a nighttime raid on a Numenorean village in his younger days, before he became one of Morgoth's most important servants.

EDIT: Hmm, movie Narsil doesn't appear to be intrinsically holy the way the book version was, so that's another point against Sauron. He was harmed by an effectively ordinary, if loving crafted, sword.
If it wasn't at all magic, how did it stop the ghost sword of the ghostly king down in the Paths of the Dead?

The same way the ghostly king meant to kill Aragorn. 'Twas solid. This doesn't account for the ghost king's surprise, however.

At any rate, the movie sword doesn't display the white flame that it did in the books, sadly. Overt magic is mostly reserved for the bad guys (i.e. the Witch King breaking Gandalf's staff)

---

Wait, he led a nighttime raid? Where in the Silmarillion was this? MY HUNGER TO CORRECT MY GRASP OF LORE MUST NOT GO UNSATISTFIED.

Was he mode locked already by this time? I think he wasn't. So he must have been using his less cumbersome, more elflike form.

Action!

Stand up and look around.

Dangerous Terrain: 2 + 1 (Moonlight)

Cecilia struggles to get to her feet. Something about the light of the rising moon allows her to catch herself, preventing a fall.

The buzzing starts up again, louder and more insistently.

Use BLINDVISIONtm to detect what the snuffling is and follow it. If it's not something evil, I state my friendliness and stuff.

Result: 5

Cassandra locates the source of the snuffling easily. It's coming from behind the couch! Oh joy!

"Don't be scared..." murmurs Cassandra. "I'm a friend..."

"Frieeeeeeend?" burbles a hideous voice.

Oh god.

Why didn't she get a sense of danger?

I shall not be Out-quoted ! Guns are impressives, but now, PIERRE LEADS, SWORDS, FOR EVERYONE

Result: Natural 1

Pierre attempts to echo Jaume's mad quotage!

His breath catches in his throat and he begins to sputter. Uh, embarrassing.

To the crash site

No roll necessary

Jane trudges north from the blast site. Several buildings have been damaged here.

Subtle, Jaume, real subtle... ;)
I shall not be Out-quoted ! Guns are impressives, but now, PIERRE LEADS, SWORDS, FOR EVERYONE
Make way, villainy! Abs, COMING THROUGH!

Look for any light switch by the doorway you came in from, and if you find one, press it. Then follow the snuffling sound, silently this time.

Result: 3

Jaume searches for a light switch and presses it.

Click.

Aaaaaand the power's out. Fantastic.

He follows Cassandra to where the snuffling noise is coming from and

Oh god.

Elizabeth looks up North and goes toward the direction from which the fireball flew!

-Come Pierre! We shall fight! FOR FOOD AND TENTACLES~!

(Psst, Josephus, start thinking about relationship bonuses or something ;P)

Result: 4 + 1 (Dazzling) = 5

Elizabeth beckons to Pierre, shouting words of encouragement. Words that involve tentacles.

Her allure gives him a confidence boost. (+1 to next roll)

Current Situation

Jane

Heading towards the crash site. On her left is a garage with parking lot. On her right are some gutted houses. The stream flows on behind them.

Cecilia

Standing in the stream southeast of Jane and east of Pierre and Elizabeth. She notices dead creatures in the water, probably fish, but twisted and blackened. The Inky Beast mopes on the embankment above.

Pierre, Elizabeth

Pierre and Elizabeth are proceeding, south of Jane's position. Igor is no longer trying to eat Pierre.

Jaume, Cassandra

ohmygodohmygod what is that thing

It looks like it used to be human. It snuffles pathetically as it rolls around. Where it touches, it leaves reddish-black smears.

Given the way things fold in on themselves in this verse, Lord English as a creative and destructive force is possible, if unlikely.

I imagine the clearly quite lethal Gungan shock weapons that Jar Jar is allowed will prove effective, even against a deity. And remember, Jar Jar is much more in his element than Sauron is. Sauron leads his armies in open battle, and he's never led a guerrilla mission in his incredibly long life. Jar Jar, however, is an estuary creature at heart. The skills he used to hunt marsh clams and crabs would prove essential in this contest. Sauron's great bulk and heavy armor would allow Jar Jar, whose hearing is quite sensitive, to ascertain his location from a distance, allowing him to get the drop on him.

That said, I still hate Jar Jar.

EDIT: Hmm, movie Narsil doesn't appear to be intrinsically holy the way the book version was, so that's another point against Sauron. He was harmed by an effectively ordinary, if loving crafted, sword.

I think Aqizzar even once suggested that the reader is Lord English.
Hussie finds a way to make part of a page into whatever is being shown on the users webcam.

"No! I must kill Lord English" he shouted
The cosbytop said "No, John. You are Lord English"
And then John was a shale imp.
