There's a big bird FB skulking around the second cavern layer, it CAN probably destroy a grate I put to block it out .. so I should take care of it but there are ogres and "plump helmet men" down there, whatever those things are.

Plump helmet men are awesome. They're walking plump helmets, the perfect pet for any dwarf. You must rescue them from the giant bird and ogres.

Part 21 of my LP is up

This whole update can basically be summarized as "fuck elves". I gave them a chance, and they brought me crap. They didn't even bring any sun berries or sunshine with them. The only two animals they had were mediocre at best. So fuck paying for them, I just seized those animals. Course it was hard to justify seizing their goods in the narrative, hence the cannibalism part.

Elves are creepy little fuckers. I hope I finally get my HFS built by next spring, so I can watch them suffer a watery death. Provided they don't bring me GDS or GE, in which case all will be forgiven.

Don't build walls, get killed by goblins.

I fail to see how anyone could pull this off with invaders turned on. Because even a squadron of elite wrestlers can't do much against armored goblins riding jabberers and escorted by troll kill squads.

Maybe you can have a Ghost King now. :o

Is he going to visit Urist McHamlet and cause a loyalty cascade?

Does the entirety of Townbrush count?

Well, if I had to chose one thing, I guess it would be intentionally letting all the wounded and cripples starve to death because they weren't helping me at the moment.

Part 20 of my LP is up.

I've never felt pride in my military before. They always kept doing something incredibly stupid and that made me hate them. But the Immortal Rags just continue to impress me, even though they mostly lack weapons and armor. I really don't feel threatened by most of the local wildlife now.

Don't really have that much to say though. I really hope the elves actually brought something worthwhile. In my other game, they've been bringing me crap.

Part 19 of my LP is up.

Also that war hammer is pretty cool just because it's made from the cave kraken that killed Dishmab, but it still sucks as a weapon. I guess I'll find some way to use it for decorating purposes. I do have a display case mod downloaded.

It's gotta be better than punching and kicking though, so it might give the rest of your unarmed military a better go of it. 'sides, it'll raise their maceman skill for when you get a proper weapon.

Actually considering it weighs less than >1, I think it's even less effective than those toy blow-up hammers you get at carnivals.

Maybe if I decide to replace the sheriff with a non-military dwarf I'll give it to him.

EDIT: Wait, I just got a brilliant idea to utilize this weapon and work it into the narrative. It's perfect.

Boy, I just love it when the game doesn't give you migrants for months, then decides to jump over 20 of the fuckers on you at once. Really, it's great, especially when you are writing an LP.

For the most part the migrants have been turned into haulers and masons, with a handful replacing some positions we currently lack. Once I get the workshop area set up more of them will be converted into more useful professions. I'm hoping to hand the metal industry up before the end of the year, as trying to beat goblins with shit equipment is not fun. Hopefully the humans and dwarves will bring me something to work with. Or the elves might have decent war beasts. Here's hoping for giant eagles.

Well, those idiots need to stop saying that >:U

Oh grow up. Why people are suddenly obsessing over what we refer to the HFS in spoilers in ridiculous. It just a name, who gives a crap. I just use clowns because it's something most people know.

I HATE aquifers. I've tried playing with them, and they just kill the fun. See, I like ocean embarks, in which I build a fort above the sea itself. This requires massive quantities of stone. Multiple layer aquifers across the entire map make this fucking impossible to obtain. If there was easier method of getting through them I would play with them, but as it stands now there just not enjoyable in any way. So I mod them out of the game.

Besides, I already have enough bad experiences with fortress flooding.

Nobles are huge assholes and get pissed off if another dwarf even dares to have something of value. For example, my baroness was getting angry about one dwarf having his won tomb. This dwarf was me, and I also happened to be the original expedition leader. The baroness was my wife. Yet she was getting pissy about me having a good tomb despite this.

Part 18 of my DF LP is up.

You know Mosus being attacked by another troglodyte would probably be amusing if it didn't kill her. So that's the 3rd death in Reveredtour, once again due to beasts of the deep. Wasn't even zombies, so maybe the undead are the least of my concerns. After all, you can apparently reduce them to dust with a single punch.

I ordered cage traps to be installed last year, but apparently nobody got around to making them. Wonderful. Still, I'm to happy about finding haven to really complain to much. It's one of the best farming locations I've ever seen. Biggest downside is it being on the second cavern layer. Also while the passage to the Abyss actually does reach the bottom, it leads straight into the water. So it shouldn't be an issue, unless a deep kraken shows up. I have a special project in mind involving this particular area.

I'm going to dig an exploratory shaft and chuck Dashy the gazelle down it at some point. I want to find some magma, and am hoping that 3rd cavern layer has a magma pipe. Doubtful, but one can hope.

I've noticed several instances of babies somehow defeating enemies recently. I think Toady somehow changed something in the latest version that gave babies to much power.

Part 17 of my LP is up.

If you're wondering why I focused so much on that trog attack, it's because it makes no damn sense to me. Somehow a trog managed to get through the deep road, barracks, and civilian workshops without hitting a single animal or dwarf. Considering all the training, engraving, building, etc going on down there you'd think someone would encounter it. But no, it just waltzed right up into the meeting hall.

If this had been something like a cave crocodile, Mosus would be a corpse. And that idea bothers me. Even in Townbrush I never had this problem. Beasts from the underground always ran into something on the way up.

Also I didn't mention it, but there's a giant cheetah patrolling the area around Reveredtour. It just keeps walking around the fort, as if it's waiting for a dwarf to go outside. If it's still there when I make the next update, I'm going to introduce it to the Immortal Rags.
After the elephant, is it possible that you have a variant of the old spawning bug? Also, kobolds are more dangerous than you suggest.

I'm not sure, but it wouldn't surprise me. It's made things more interesting, that's for sure.

On the subject of kobolds, off the top of my head they've only been a problem once. A master thief stabbed someone in the hand and crippled it. Though I assumed that had less to do with him being a kobold and more with him being a master thief. After a mason managed to beat a kobold to death once, I can't take them seriously.

(sorry couldnt resist, plus we gotta ignore the ever-so lame 'Heart')

Serrated disk traps, chopping up the "heart" (Read: Internal Organs) of any creature.
