DF Gameplay Questions / Equip Miners

I've searched around on the wiki, and on google. and I cant seem to find out how to solve my issue.
Im quite new to the game, followed tinypirates guide a while ago, and now I've started my own fortress for the second time.
So it's been a year since I embarked. And i made a couple of picks to my miners. they had copper picks when I embarked.
So now I've made Iron picks, and I have no clue how to equip my best miners with the new ones.
