I'm one of people that found Hotline Miami a bit on the easy side as well. Enemies were extremely predictable and as long as you avoid guns like they're the Xbox One you can usually breeze through levels chaining score getting A+.

I still love Hotline Miami to death and can't wait for the sequel. Hopefully they'll heavily expand the game length. I hope the soundtrack stays equally or more awesome.

You have to siege the province fully so it surrenders. You just can't raid all the gold and move on. It had a pretty high chance when TOG was released, it might have been lowered in the latest patches.

You can. I regularly sacrifice both the Pope and the Basileus at the same blot.

A lot of games have auto-detect for graphical settings now. They generally work well enough but I've never found changing the resolution too much of a hassle though. I do hate when a game has to restart every single time you change the smallest graphical setting.

I love how the guy raves about "family sharing" and then reveals it's a 10-15 minute time limited demo. Microsoft are just so thoughtful and polite!

... It's called a fucking demo you moronic fuck. They've been around since pre-fucking-history.

That was a fantastic read. You got to give Microsoft credit for finding and employing the most delusional people in the world. Clearly an equal opportunity company.

I'm leaning towards a Celtic DLC the same scope as Legacy of Rome. The area is currently the most boring in the game. It would be nice to see Ireland expanded more so it's just not tutorial island. It makes sense to release it at roughly the same time they want to release the Celtic face pack.

Certainly hoping it's not more ahistorical bollocks.

Couldn't you just assassinate the rival claimant?

Well as I said it can be brutally effective especially with the right cultural retinue. I was blasting apart armies 5-10 times bigger than my own using an Italian pikemen retinue with Scottish leaders. Made uniting Italy and taking Byzantium way too easy.
CKII still favours having a bigger army than someone else though which is a shame. It can be quite fun to use in a MP match especially against someone used to throwing piles of units at each other. A good tactic is to use retinues against armies and use cheap levies to throw at sieges to quickly end a war. I really wish EUIV would have CKII's style of unit types, it would have made the combat infinitely better.

Lolcat, can you explain your retinue tactics?

Cthulhu, mercenaries maybe?
There was a wonderful guide written up on the forums with a whole bunch of information. I'll try to find it. I'm terrible at trying to explain the combat mechanics of CKII, they're a little bit all over the place.

EDIT: Couldn't find the guide but I found some good information here.

Unit Types
Combat tactic

As you can see from the combat tactics it's generally best to stack a sole unit type or unit types that complement each other so you get the good tactics. Since you should always stick to cultural retinues (unless it's light infantry or light horses) you generally want to stack those unit types together. Vassal forces will come with a vast mix of units which will influence tactics to be much more random. On top of that they generally have a bunch of light horses which you must always avoid. LH have pretty useless stats and they will employ tactics that will gimp your other units.
Note that non-cultural retinues will not have any bonuses while cultural retinues will have bonuses equal to the highest cultural building you can construct.

It's always best to find a leader with leadership traits that will benefit your stacked army. If there are cultures with a cultural tactic that will heavily benefit your army, such as Schiltron, you'll want to either employ some from over seas to lead or make a ghetto for renewable leaders.
If you have light horse or light infantry you'll want to employ a non-cultural retinue and mix in vassal forces. Light infantry cultures can survive off self and vassal levies alone since the cultural building will give a massive increase to the brunt of your army.

Do note that to effectively "game" warfare you'll need to be a fairly big size to have decent stacks of retinues. King level and higher is generally required. It also helps to invest all military tech into retinue size as well.

The problem with microtransaction in single-player games is the ol' slippery slope.

There is a very high risk of developers/publishers manufacturing games with predatory mechanics. This is already rampant in the IOS/facebook gaming marketplace where customers embraced microtransactions.
So many games there are basically pay2win or pay2advance. The argument that microtransactions make a game easier doesn't seem to hold water as games with microtransactions tend to gravitate to harder, limiting or more annoying gameplay to force players into paying money.

There is also the argument that is breaks immersion which I tend to agree with. Dragon Age and the new Dead Space were just awful with that. Dragon Age had to hilarious dialogue breaking "buy the expansion to continue" with the NPC standing around camp and not being able to be removed. Dead Space was a "survival" game that allowed you to buy more weapons and ammo ...

I don't think customer really wants to bring back the exploitative arcade generation of games.

When I get big enough I tend to treat my vassals just like enemies and do everything in my path to weaken them. I tend to avoid using levies since if you build your retinues correctly you can take out stacks five times bigger, the addition of levies tend to screw up tactics.
I love constructing great big stable empires which nothing could ever crush. My crowning achievement in the game is when I go into observe mod and the AI empire doesn't collapse and even expands. Feels good to make something that even the brain dead can control.
I've always strangely prefered stable, sustainable and renewable systems to sheer "power gaming". One of the reasons I have trouble with survival and city building games.  :-\

You can always just destroy the title.
I personally never have king vassals as an emperor. They can cause all kinds of trouble for you. I usually just destroy as many duchies as I can and try to have counts everywhere. The 2 county duchies will almost always become a dukedom but you can't avoid that.

Game over. A feudal dynasty cannot become a republican dynasty, but a republican dynasty can become a feudal dynasty.

Can't swear fealty as an emperor, ever.
I can't actually think of a way that you can reliably switch from catholic to orthodox. On the switch side you can always embrace the challenge and bring the glory of Roma to the east. There is a mod which allows you to mend the great schism as a catholic which could be a lot of fun.

If you want to cheat just open the console and type in:
religion orthodox
culture greek
