Someone who has plagued the main forum I visit on and off for... Oh wow, almost four years, I think. He's been a pest in completely inappropriate (and illegal) ways in the past, but he didn't actually do anything damaging this time. Directly. .-.

It's a fairly lengthy story that ties into other shenanigans, but I'm not sure this is really the place to put it.

There are people who do not learn. They get themselves banned, completely overreact, sully everything for a time as they overreact, and then when the mess is over, they are finally gone and people can move on.

Then they come back. And people are willing to give them just a hint of a second chance, just enough room to let themselves show they're even just slightly better, when their behavior seems completely unchanged.

Then they promptly get themselves banned again almost within an hour.

And they probably didn't learn a thing this time either. .-.

They've actually lasted almost an entire year, though they've been acting up a bit for a month or two before now. Still, I think this is the first time that the left one pretty much just stopped working for a while. Gifts are nice, but I don't like having my head at almost 90 degrees just to get sound out of a temperamental earbud. I could use a pair of headphones, but those are less portable.

Yeah, they really do need to make them with a longer lifespan.

My left earbud is being increasingly unreliable, frequently failing to actually play music when I change the angle. These were a Christmas present. ._.

Well, failing earbuds are failing earbuds. I'll have to replace them soon.

Glancing at the Forum Games and Roleplay section, it seems rather lacking what I normally think of when I see mention of roleplaying. What makes me happy is that one of the more common formats may actually work rather well for one idea I had in mind.

And it would be a change of pace! That might be interesting if I do anything with it.

Karkat's knowledge comes from more than just IM chats, though. As does Kanaya's.

Also, impressive fire.

I find that a somewhat amusing title to give to that particular troll. I wonder what it entails.

Doc Scratch is not truly omniscient, mind you, even with the code boost. It is worth keeping in mind that he is only nearly omniscient, and that he himself has commented on the gaps in his admittedly vast wealth of knowledge. I know several of us know that but omniscient and omnipotent have been thrown around enough recently (and not quite so recently) that I feel compelled to point it out again.

I don't know where Homestuck was when I first stumbled through it, but it was during the WEEK OF THE GREAT ROBOSMOOCH OF 2010 that I returned, I believe. This thread and a few people elsewhere got me back into it.

I just managed to very slowly, after over an hour of combat, kill the hidden super boss of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn on my first try. A monstrously powerful and dangerous boss beaten the normal way, on the first try.

...I'm actually kind of disappointed now, really. But still, it was enjoyable, which is the main thing.

There's a thread in DF General about how the Stonesense thread got linked on Reddit, so there might be some vague connection there.

There is indeed a new Golden Sun game, announced at E3 a year or two ago and released November 29th in the US. Releases for both Europe and Australia are soon to come, last I checked.

I have a couple problems with Dark Dawn, really, but most of them are overshadowed by the fact it's Golden Sun and it actually got released and beyond a couple things there are no huge gaping flaws from where I'm standing and it's just wonderful if you're not too upset by a couple things~♥

Is it as good as the first two? Or even close? I loved the original games to death, but I've been worried a "thirty years later" sequel wouldn't hold up.
I find it is about as good as the other two, but I am not at all willing to say it actually is, because I can immediately think of something that would have been a major irritant had I not been forewarned. Anything resembling objectivity is pretty much overshadowed by the whole GOLDEN SUN GAME YESSSSSSSS factor.

I can say that the game feels a bit different than the other two, though some of that is to be expected. Thirty years after the end of The Lost Age, which did kind of end with the gates open to major world changes. As for one of my biggest issues, and one I was fortunate enough to avoid thanks to being warned about it... well, it's more of a gameplay spoiler than anything, but in the event anyone is a bit touchy about that sort of thing,
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Even with that, I still love the game. I think it's great, and I'm hoping that feeling doesn't die down after the initial excitement. And even if it does, the part of the fandom I actually associate with is only going to take this and do incredibly interesting things with it.

I could probably say a bit more on it, but that might be more suitable for PMs, and I'm not sure how you feel about spoilers either. So yeah, if you want to knowing more before trying the game (if you do!), just let me know how you feel about spoilers and what you're interested in and I'll see what I can tell you.

Learning more people are actually interested in the series made me happy~

On Wednesday, I picked up a copy of Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. I have currently beaten the actual story and almost completely finished my first run through the game, and currently just need to level grind a bit more, get a little better equipment, and then go die horribly a few times discovering how Camelot made a monster out of the hidden super boss. The wait has been worth it~♥

As a result of Dark Dawn's release, I haven't dropped by here in the better part of a week. I come back to discover that this thread had grown quite a bit. That was a nice thing to find. Especially since it keeps growing more than the Sad thread.

And now we get more jumping around the timeline as John stops being asleep. Hurray!

Unless this update actually came earlier and I just completely failed to notice that being mentioned.

exactly like Jack Noir
Except not having the motivation explained is not the same as doing it just because one can! Which applies to both Jack and Vriska, strictly speaking.

On another note, I am now rather concerned about what might happen to Mom and Dad. Bro's death felt inevitable to me, and we know Grandpa has to die, but it doesn't feel like Mom and Dad necessarily will. But it also feels like things are pointing in that direction, which has me worried about them. D:
