Exactly. i paid extra, why should i be bothered with a DRM? Who cares if other people pirate it and share?!

737
Perhaps. Then again, considering a lot of people who paid for it can't get it to work, possibly because they're handing accounts between castlestory.net and the Humble Store.....perhaps not. Perhaps if they'd managed it themselves, I both wouldn't have to make an account on a service I don't plan to ever use...and people might actually be getting the product they already paid for.

Part of the reason I am scoffing at you is because you don't seem to get that fact that Signing up for humblebundle.com just requires you enter your Email and make a password for the site. And if you had just remembered your damned Username and password for castlestory.net, maybe you wouldn't be having problems.

But.. but... why even have DRM on a prototype?

Well, i am still trying to decide whether their control system is pure genius yet to be grasped, or a god damn clustered mess. i tend to go with the latter.

Levi, honestly we never thought about playing it on T.V. Fonts are pretty smallish and we dont have an ingame option to change it yet.

Well, We have just released Patch v6.

In this patch we have reworked the sieges so they now take other factors than just population size (Town value, Level of heroes, Days since town founded). the sieges are also mixed now, so expect to see sieges with large number of smaller level enemies led by a higher level ones.

We have also added raides of smaller groups that try to steal food or livestock.

Wiggles

Same as cultures but underground (also we're back to commanding dwarves).

Do you perhaps mean Diggles?

It is the same game, yes. It's nigh impossible to obtain it these days.

Wiggles was the German and Polish name for it.
England and USA got the title translated into Diggles.
And the Russian name was Gnomy if my memory is correct.

Well there are several indie games like DF.
Gnomoria and Towns for example are games based off DF but more focused on the interface than extra features.

Must disagree here. have you played towns?

No but i saw several streams and Youtube videos and aside of several differences it plays pretty much like a "hill Dwarf" settlement with zoning, workshops, independant/suicidal citzens ETC.

Mind you it's not a direct copy but closer than any non indie game ever got so i called it up along with gnomoria.

Well, main difference is that there are heroes that visit your town and explore on their own, and there are dungeons below ground. yes, the basic frame is a DF like, but its far different to DF than gnomoria is.

If i may make a suggestion, it would be to limit the number of distributors. in fact, try to encourage direct sells above all. if your game succeeds (and it looks like it have a very good chance to) the difference between the direct sales and the average distributor fee can be thousands of dollars a month and honestly, if one of them isn't valve, the exposure they give is minimal. (except desura, which is nice)

I hope it will turn out good, but i keep my expectations low. guts telling it will be bland.

Well, as hemmingjay said, a lot of people who have tried either Towns or Gnomoria and wish for a deeper exprience are transitioning to DF, whether because they finally took the guts to try it, or that they decided to give it another try when this time the whole concept is clearer for them which leave more time to battle the UI.

748
What does Minecraft has to do with DF, except the sandbox environment?

Well, if you have waited a month or two and had more to show, you could raise more i think. i know kickstarter supposed to be a.. well, kickstarter for projects, but most backers want to see something more solid before putting out money.
