The Hermes boots seem to give a barely noticeable speed boost as it is... though they may have capped max movement speed as they did attack speed.

Damn. And I was looking forward to 7 swings a second with my Muramasa. (Probably incorrect info, but it was on the wiki...)

    * Mechanics for making traps and devices.

Do. Want.

Along with all the other stuff. But having a redstone equivalent for circuitry or other mechanisms (a la Dwarf Fortress) would make this game 100x more FUN for me. I love going through logic gates/etc. Though because of the 2 dimensional aspect, I suspect it'll be more akin to DF than Minecraft (where you link items specifically, rather than having a path of wires crowding the limited space usage).

Everything else is icing on the cake. Slopes will be nice for ramps/stairs, rather than having to jump all the time. New worlds likely mean new item sets... and it'll be nice to have some tangible surface threat to combat in lieu of the occasional slime/red moon/goblin invasion.

Playing on my sister's DS, I had fallen into a quick obsession with Lost in Blue. Wish there were more detailed survival games with the same amount of fun, but whatever.

I never really got into handhelds after I got a computer. Even my PSP lasted me less than a year due to mediocre games and Sony locking the firmware down after allowing homebrew on initial versions (and custom firmware with such gems as Nethack and OTTD, along with Final Fantasy 7 were the only reason I played with it that long).

My GBA was the prize possession for a while; Advance Wars defined the system for me, along with countless other titles that I probably still have stashed in various places around my house gathering dust. Castlevania (I believe it was Circle of the Moon; it had RPG levelling and other elements to it) also was pretty good.

Depending on who I get it from on Newegg, the two comparable cards for higher end of the price range I have (the GTX 560 and the Radeon HD 6870) both come off at about the same. I've got plenty of time to check for sales/special offers/compare hardware, but this chart is a good start.

For reference, I'm on a 1600x900 monitor, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue there.

I haven't had much luck with MSI products (replacing the faulty motherboard was a bitch, although that could have partially been due to the computer being fairly cheap and somewhat badly put together by the guys at CyberPowerPC).

Any nVidia suggestions? Or even ATI. I'd rather stick with nVidia not due to any degree of fanboyism (I've had both types of cards in the past) but due to being familiar with it and having the updater on my system.

It's SD Gundam Online, specifically using the Jegan. There are tons of awesome attacks you can perform in the game, the move I was talking about was one of the Jegan's attack combinations.

This video, while kinda low quality, has an example of a rather ordinary special (by the games standards) at 1:16 as an example.
How much Chinese/Japanese/Korean do I have to understand in order to adequately play this game? *drool*

Beam sword combo up close, throw it to the side then back away firing my shields grenade launchers. Then I throw THAT aside and fire a few rounds of my rifle, then fly into the air, the hilt of my other beam sword comes flying from my hip into my hand, and holding it in reverse, I fly down, stab them through the chest (WITHOUT LOOKING), and pull it out. Both of us remain still for a second.

Then he explodes gloriously.
What is this game, for the love of God. It sounds epic. Too epic to exist actually...

It's as if they really hated the people that buy games legally instead of pirating them.
Thats the sucky catch-22 when it comes to DRM. If you pirate it, it's likely that someone cracked it and removed the DRM completely... If you buy it, you get crappy performance and what is essentially a rootkit, penalizing you for playing the game legally. Maybe publishers will learn someday...

There aren't obsidian background walls yet, right?
No. And for this I am sad. Although the blue dungeon walls look decent.

Marketing Tricks 101.

Have stuff "leaked", get everybody to talk about it. Advertisement cost.. nil.
It's better than companies spending hundreds of millions on advertising, rather than putting that money into the game itself.

(Yes, I'm looking at you, just about every AAA game to have come out in the last 5 years)

I currently have a GT 220 that's starting to show its age. It runs most things fairly well, but I get tired of having to cut down settings in the interest of running smoothly (League of Legends with everything on High runs at ~40 FPS average; New Vegas has a fair amount of stuttering and that's with medium-low settings; Mass Effect 2 can have some bad slowdowns at times).

My only problem is having to find a new video card within my $100-$200 price range. I'm more of a software guy; all the numbers and letting don't mean a whole lot to me as far as video cards are concerned (GT220? 5450? Blah blah blah, tell me what the damn thing does)

Add on to that the fact that I will likely have to upgrade my power supply, and I'm looking at a small investment, likely in the $300+ range. Granted, I bought this computer fairly cheap with the intention of upgrading it piece by piece as I went along (having given it a nice motherboard and RAM upgrade already; learning as I go).

Any suggestions? As far as the video card is concerned, I was looking at
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127510

And I'm still deciding on a power supply. I would like something in the 750W range, to allow for further expansions, and I had something planned out a couple months back but it doesn't look like Newegg has it anymore.

I'm sad that there's no obsidian brick walls.  :'(
Or, if you have neither of those, a Cloud in a Bottle or the Rocket Boots can keep you from dying if you time it right.
This was broken in 1.0.2, as far as the Cloud goes. They may have fixed it again, not sure though.

Orianna looks kinda boring, but that's more my playstyle. I'm not a fan of Teemo for the fact that he needs to rely on something other than direct skills to do well. Not a fan of "pet" classes. Maybe fun to mess around with but not as a main character.

Top 50? Not really, no. My mod list at the moment includes (this is not everything, just what I remember off the top of the head while not being at my computer):

FOOK NV (.50 adds some more nice things; brings back a bunch of the Fallout 3 crafted weapons to find in various places, which is a big reason why I have it)
More Perks (Along with FOOK's NVSE option for a perk every level; a multitude of ways to create a character differently)
Project Nevada (The revamp to implants, along with useful things like a Grenade key, Sprint and Bullet Time that use your AP bar, etc)
WME (Speaks for itself; gun mods are nice)
Realistic Headshots (because shooting someone in the head with a full clip and them not dying is annoying)

And a couple others that I can't remember at the moment.

BoS rant

If you paid attention, you would have known that the Fallout 3 Brotherhood was that way because of their leadership, who ended up becoming a splinter group (referenced by some New Vegas NPC's) and they definitely weren't the Brotherhood Allstars, if the Outcasts were to be believed. I do agree with you about it though; the major change in giving old IP to a new team didn't have quite the same feel to it.

Unfortunately, there's no good mods for New Vegas, unless you like smooth skinned busty broads in lingerie filling your gritty, filth-covered, post-apocalyptic world.

Blasphemy. I have a fairly extensive mod list that focuses on gameplay, balance, adding new weapons/armor/etc. There are lots of good ones out there.

New Vegas definitely had a different feel to it. The writing was better, the ending actually was worth not being able to continue (even with DLC; preserving the "true" end of the story was a good way to do it, imho), and it just felt more Fallout-ish. Hard to explain if you haven't played the originals.
