*sees impending flamewar*

*grabs can of gasoline*

Well it should be, but you assume we live in countries where we can just go to the doctor without having to pay out the wazoo because we either have junk insurance or don't have it at all.

There isn't any nerve damage, we have some good doctors, and he's quite quick to heal, so I expect a full recovery.

Oh, and he's also the mayor's husband, and has nine kids and seven friends.

I voted Oz simply because it was unconventional but not totally implausible as an industrial power. But I think most people here are looking for something more conventional in the European theater, and you should have some kind of chance at winning, so France: Road to War it is.

Yeah, I'm getting way more possessions than anything else. Almost all possessions, a couple of secretives, maybe one fey.

Unless there is a medical doctorate lurking around the community somewhere...but I don't think a doctor could find enough time for DF.

I don't know, I think that someone whose job it is to put people back together all day might enjoy a game in which they're torn apart.

I wonder if this is really the game being played.

There has to be some artistic liberties involved. It involves dwarves changing clothes, after all.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: What's going on in your fort?

To aid in my FB-slaughtering activities, I've built fortifications one square away from open cavern map edges. FBs usually stand still and take it, although some die faster to this than others. (17 dead FBs as of right now, with lots and lots of forgotten beast lungs, intestines, organs, etc in my food stockpile, with some forgotten beast tallow biscuits as a snack)

Of course, other things get on the wrong side of the fortifications too. Like trogolodytes. And they don't always stand there and take it, but rather run back and forth like a shooting gallery duck, dodging my marksdwarves' bolts. "Ha, missed! Missed! Missed again! Mi-" *THUNK*

Oh my crap I want to see this come to fruition. Almost sounds like a toy... "Hey, kids! Assemble your own organisms today!"

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Pump operation no longer exhausting?

That kind of exhaustion apparently no longer exists. I have no idea what high skill levels in pumping do now, if anything.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Clothing
« on: September 20, 2010, 04:30:48 pm »
It's bugged. Dwarves don't voluntarily wear clothing. The only way is to draft them all into the military and set uniforms.

DF Announcements / Re: Dwarf Fortress 0.31.13 Released
« on: September 20, 2010, 03:57:48 pm »
DF planets are smaller but still have roughly the same gravity as Earth, due to the amount of heavy metals in them.

Anything that reduces the number of places available for embark, whether in the name of realism or anything else, is a Bad Idea. In game terms it serves no purpose but to cheese people off.

Make a backup of your current save, find a gem, and then compare the saves.
