If you dont assign the wardog but instead just have each soldier train a wardog or two, then the dogs follow them around without being pets.

I want the entrance to our fort to be a massive suspension bridge (with drawbridge capabilities or retracting bridge capabilities on the walkway)

I want our embark to have two mountain peaks (or slopes) on either side of it with the dimensions being 4x3 or 3x4 (keep the peaks in the middle of the 3 side)   Any infinite water source is a good thing.  As is sand.

I also recommend that we only dig as much as we need to construct our feats of engineering.

Yes. Except wood to elves... no can do. Sorry. They won't accept. Better sell them their countless clothes, dyed and turned into !!socks!! (if only we could).
Supply the elven army with bronze weapons and iron armor to allow them to wipe out the humans *cough*bayofpigs*cough* ;)

Those are unusable.  you need ramps to have a floor on top of the wall that acts as the base of the ramp.

15x15 dining hall outfitted with 80 chairs and table of green glass.
152 smoothed bedrooms with green glass cabinets and coffers in each.
Automatic shower unit directly between them, with no way around.

Haven't had an upset dwarf since that moody child demanded shells of a fortress with no surface water.
Make the furniture out of gold (which i usually have gratuitous amounts of.  My friend has 154k in his fort  :o) and you can get away with less tables and chairs.  if space is an issue.  or you can just get a fancier room ;P
