they have been put in DF, and are indeed dangerous :P

my cave elephant caravan was driven off after a giraffe attack killed an elephant merchant  :(

yep, the horse family contains very powerful swimmers.

infact, every land animal can swim instinctualy, except the great ape family(though they can learn to swim), and possibly giraffes

nobody has actualy tested to see if giraffes can swim

uh, no you dont...

just hit k while playing, and d over whatever you want dumped. no need to go to the view screen.

there are "undead" evil zones which have skeletal/zombie animals and dead trees, and there are "evil" evil zones which have evil creatures like ogres and grimelings and are essentialy the counterpart to good zones

if gunpowder is included, i'd perfer it to only be used for seige weapons in terms of weapons. early gunpowder weapons were rather difficult to aim, but cannons became widespread since you dont really need to aim well to hit a giant wall. goblins using cannons to blow actual chunks out of the wall would be nice

they occur on flat land fine. if you go in adventure mode and ask around a bit to get them all revealed, you will find they can appear any place you can settle

you dont even need axes. you can swarm-wrestle a few to death and equip their weapons to slaughter the rest.

every place ive settled in expecting it to have lots of magnetite has had lots of magnetite. ive seen no evidence its rarer at all. hematite may be another matter, but magnetite is still as plentiful as ever and thats what i settle for

playing adventure mode and doing quite well for myself, had been going a while. decided to raid a goblin fortress (Terrorsweat) with my swarm of elves. i got a little ways in and:

Your right eye has been poked out!
Your right ear has been badly pierced!
Your left ear has been badly pierced!
Your brain has been broken!
The iron bolt has lodged firmly in the wound!

Headshot

i dont die, and my elf swarm kills the bowman. i cant walk or hold anything so i start sneaking and put my greataxes(one for throwing that i had in one hand) in my pack and start wriggling my way out.

the going is very slow(4-5 pages of action to scroll through for every move) but i finaly get a few squares of the exit, and:

You have suffocated.

so close

you dont even need mud. any soil type can grow plants without irrigation just fine
