England is still interested in a base in the Mediterranean.  Sicily or Malta would be greatly rewarded.

If you gave England +1 base tax in Kent I'd be fine with it

A Spanish Portuguese alliance seems downright unbeatable in this game due to the way the trade is made.

As a Portugal player Seville is worth over 65 ducats halfway through the game. If the AI Spain built a few buildings in the Caribbean and tried to get some actual money out of it I could see it easily having reached 80 ducats by now.

England and France just can't compete with the massive amount of money that the two trading empires can establish before the hundred years war is even up.

For the amount of hours I'm planning on playing I think it's fairly cheap.

$50 is around what i'd spend on a new game, so $40 on a game I really like sounds pretty darn fine to me.

I don't think 36 year olds have kids who are 34...

Tarran sumed it up well. Its not about dynasties or characters its about the formation of a nation. Its about dealing with other nations where the only course of action might be conflict.

It's a logistics game. Generally the bigger army wins as long as you have comparable technology.  Getting and paying for those armies is what you will be worried about.

It also covers the surrounding ports as well. I usually have a ship every three ports. If I'm in the Mediterranean I don't bother because the computer is a huge fan of removing pirates. Also works in the Caribbean if enough computers are there.

Just sit a galley in each port.

As for removing them out of the game I don't think it can be done easily.

I don't carry with him, I usually stock up on mostly support items. It's just that he makes an amazing chaser and can get himself out of tough situations.

Has anyone tried abaddon with eye of skadi yet? His curse of avernus plus the slowing effects of skadi would mean that no one is able to flee from him. Throw a sange and yasha and no hero will be able to escape from him.

Also which hero is BB?

Or you and spain could be working together. And you only need a merchant in difficult nodes. With a majority of the trade power of a region you can divert more then any people coming in.

Also with Spain in the same node they will be willing to help you out. Maybe you can do a deal at the start in wbich you focus on getting the Chinese trade and they get all the Caribbean trade. Sure you have to share the pie, it's just going to be a heck of a lot bigger.

I'm really liking the trade system. I was playing as Portugal and feeding trade back. It went through a few nodes before making it back to my home node. By that time it had ballooned to over 5.7 worth of goods. The awesome part about that is every time you push money to another node it inflates the value of the goods. All in less then 30 years. I really like the synergy of how both Portugal and Spain can work together to bring trade home. Of course they have to split it, but I got that home node up to 13.1 which is far better then the 7.2 I think it started with. I can imagine if you own enough trading posts you could bring back massive amounts of money. Imagine pulling all the trade from India, then take it around the horn of Africa. You could be making serious money by the time it gets back to you.

I played it. I like the ability to focus on what you want to get instead of having to wait for magistrates to spawn. The trade system is fun as well

I duo laned with my friend really well the other day. I was trent protector and he was spirit breaker. We wrapped up the kills really really fast. I didn't spend any money on tango's or health potions as I could heal us without them.

The enemy never destroyed a single one of our towers, and I became a semi-carry/tank in that match.

I fought a fort defence in Shogun 2. This is on hard difficulty. It was a force of 11,131 versus my fort of 3,200. All of my units save 1 were ashigarus. Wave after wave they came at me, until my fortress finally fell.

I had killed 8621 of them.

I know it's not me winning, but it was one of the most fun games I have ever lost. It wasn't my troops getting routed, or that they got tired, just the relentless pounded of samurai units marching up the castle walls. If I had a proper contingent of troops, such as bow warrior monks or some matchlock samurai I probably could have held it, but that was not to be.

Oh and I retook the fort two turns later, slaughtering all those who had taken it.

So I played my first game as meepo yesterday. And boy does he snowball fast. I was level 14 farming mostly on my own whilst the rest of my team was dying in droves. A team fight started with my 4 allies versus all 5 of them. My allies got taken out pretty quick, but did a fair bit of damage to them. I came waltzing up behind all 5 and ganked them all by myself. At which point I gained a lot of levels. A little bit later I was ganking their entire team by myself, just munching on them all. Our team went from a 5:18 kills to a 27:22 kills in a matter of minutes. I then just single handedly pushed into the base and proceeded to hammer any hero who came close.  I finished the game at level 25 with the closet member on our team level 15 and their highest was level 16.

Of course neither of us were very experienced with dealing with meepo, but I was able to get the damaged one away, and once I surrounded the enemy team they just hit wildly at all of them but overall it was a pretty funny game with me just marching through them all.

I assume at the higher levels that doesn't really happen does it?
