The pseudolegendary of this gen seems to be a Dark/Dragon hydra of sorts. Also, is it my imagination, or does this gen have more Bug types than normal?

So, is there going to be an update soon?

Next update on Saturday, I guess. I'm still busy with schoolwork.

To fill up this space, some questions:
1. Do you want me to format my updates differently? Eg. Words above pictures or spoiler tags on the whole thing, etc.
2. Playstyle. So far, I've been trying to play missions as safely as possible, keeping causalities to a minimum. Do you want me to play it more recklessly? Will probably result in more causalities/fatalities, though.

edit: Am currently clearing a Sectoid terror ship, hopefully with leader.

Devil's advocate point: The internet has lead to a series of blatant lies masquerading as the truth, as the internet does not control its sources. This, combined with the tendency for students to first search the internet for information, will and has lead to violent misunderstandings being propagated as truth, far more than previous communication technologies. This, combined with relative anonymity, creates a feedback loop of half-truths among the internet culture.

Off topic: Every time I wrote the internet above, it was a struggle not to write it as THE INTAH-NET!!!

Just to back up this point a little:

The Internet has changed the very way in which we store information. In the past, reliable information was predominantly stored in the form of books, which were near-impossible to change short of recalling all copies. Now, however, information is stored in a digital medium. While this does not cause problems in and of itself, it means that the information is lost among the sea of misinformation. Information in this format can be revised at a moment's notice, such as news companies retroactively editing their articles. This means that the people who post this information up on the Internet are much more relaxed about it, as they can edit their figures to make themselves right in the end. The people who just cut-and-paste information into their reports have a much higher chance, statistically speaking, of being wrong. Even though the Internet has facilitated international research and helped to keep scientists in touch, the sheer volume of misinformation published outweighs this fact.

Now for another point: intellectual diversity

The Internet has helped connect people into this global "web of consciousness", in effect making the whole world in your backyard. This is much like a single enormous community, where ideas spread quickly. While again, this is not inherently bad, it does has some downsides. Ideas on the Internet - also known as memes - are a form of peer pressure, to fit in with the current definition of "in". And in such a large community, peer pressure is a force to be reckoned with. In effect, everyone is striving to be the same, to have the same likes and dislikes, the same interests and views, etc. (this is much more apparent on social networking sites like Facebook). What we need, however, isn't similarity - it's difference. Its people who dare to challenge the predominant ideas of their time - such as Galileo challenging the geocentric view of the universe which was held in high opinion - who make scientific progress. In part, this is because ideas which have been held for a long time tend to become like religions, whose supporters will sometimes overlook evidence to the contrary. And in a homogeneous society, will we have such people who overturn the ideas of their time?

Man, if our Characters survive to the end, someone has to start a X-Com Terror From The Deep Let's Play with them as the Generals.

I've never played Terror From The Deep, though.

BTW, the base is completely indefensible! Move the hangars up north for Pete's sake!

I'll have you know that I've successfully defended the starting base layout quite a number of times. The trick is to rush the hangars/access lift as fast as possible, before they have a chance to spread out and hide in all the little rooms. Of course, there's always the danger of blaster bombs...

Cool. If I get to become Captain (By shooting Frank in the back for example. :p) Can I get the Rear Commander stuff where I sit in the transport toying with Blaster Launcher and Psi-amps?

Yeah, but I can't guarantee your guy won't get a 5 or something for Psi Strength. Also, if you want an idea of troop arrangement in the Skyranger, check the X-COM roster. Ol' Stinky and Foley are usually first out, while Mal Devious and Akam are all the way in the back.

The armor isn't even researched yet! But yeah, officers get their armor first. This is because the typical X-COM initiation is to see if you can survive a plasma shot unarmored.

400-something-years.

The "something" character appears in "small round object," and "week," though I'll admit that I have no idea what it means.

Yeah, 400 周年 means 400 years. Also, 专题 is topic, if I remember correctly. The whole thing's just a caption over an old painting.

Because most voters think ad hominem is a valid argument, even if they won't admit to it.
Because ad hominem is sometimes a valid argument when someone's past performance, character, or motives are pertinent to the issue at hand. Attacking a politician for his past corruption and for skimming money into his offshore bank account might be a valid argument against re-electing him, assuming you can make such a claim safely and the vote is not rigged.

edit to add: I must admit I have distaste for most critical ad campaigns. I'm certainly not defending them with the paragraph above.

Yes, it's an argument against re-electing him. It's not an argument for electing the person making the ad.
That's the thing. Most elections tend toward a binary solution set, with only two realistic answers. Thus, if you can convince the public that they REALLY don't want candidate B in office, they will vote for candidate A to ensure that B doesn't get the spot. Candidates C,D,E,F rarely are even considered.

Such is life in the US - other smaller parties, like the Greens, are often just there to fill up the ballot and to give people the impression that they have a choice. This is because it requires untold sums of money just to win a state through advertising, which other smaller parties don't have. People are unlikely to donate to a newly-formed and uncertain party which matches their views, because they view it as a "waste of money'", given that the party does not have a chance of winning. This creates a vicious circle which keeps the two major parties in power, because they have literally no opposition except for each other.

The system also has the side effect of creating a vast majority of "moderate" voters, who will vote for one side or another depending on which side happens to support their viewpoint for now. This in turn means that it is more effective for one of the major parties to convince the voters that the other side wouldn't help them, rather than expound on how their own side will help. In effect, people vote for candidates because the other guy told them that that candidate wouldn't help, rather than how he himself would help.

tl;dr : it's easier to say "That guy can't help because..." over "I will help by..."

You might want to change your security "what-if-I-forgot-my-password" question, because there's a possibility that your account might have been compromised through that avenue.

Hey look Azzuro's online time for update.

I still need to sort out all those applications from before! Also, those who requested Autocannon may not get it, since we already have enough heavy weapons as it is.

On another note, is Mal at least a Squaddie now? The first page still shows him as a rookie, but it seemed like he blew something up last mission...

Yeah, he's a Squaddie now. Everyone's a Squaddie and above except Akam, who's still a rookie because he hasn't been on any missions yet.

Edit: About research, I've already researched Laser Weapons up to the Laser Rifle, so do you want me to continue with the Heavy Laser/Cannon/Defense?
