Roll To Dodge / Re: Unnatural Selection: Three corpses already

I heard there was a list to do some waiting on around here. Seems like a good spot to sit down and watch the chaos. I want in. Or is it on? Whichever way works.

1 pm. Really sorry about the wait.

(not dead)
leave the sat at home and search for more anomalies

7: You keep looking for anomalies. The detector starts to ping as you approach an old run down blockbuster. What could be inside?

"Isn't there going to be a festival soon or something? Movie night? Maybe we could set up a booth there and spread the word of glorious Lorethazu!"
That. Maybe?

1: Lorethazu leaves the area, and the ritual circle is destroyed violently! Your followers agree to your plan, but there is the matter of materials and such to be dealt with.

Prepare a half hour's worth of panther transformation potion, and ask Zura if he'd like to try it out. If so, feed it to him. Tell him about the curative elixir, in case he wants to stop the form early. Also, work on a miscelaneous canine transformation potion, one that works by being in contact with skin. Research the sprinkler system of the park the movies are being played in, and if I could rig it to dispense elixir within the water and activate on command.

5: You prepare the panther transformation potion. Zura doesn't seem to be interested quite yet.

You also start brewing the other potion. You complete some, but do not have the quantity you desire for your plan yet.

give Harold a proper burial at whatever graveyard was written in his will. If a will and instructions for his preferred method of passing on are not found, just bury him in the nicest graveyard we can find.

10: King Harlaus hauls the fallen warrior out on his back to the truck at full speed!  The driver guns it, and starts heading to your destination.

Find a lair I can stay in.

5: You depart the park for the time being, and search for a lair. You find an old blockbuster that seems suitable. Looks like someone else is here though.

Frank continues reading more verses from the book.
No! You shall not summon any more monsters!
Mathel bashes Frank in the head with his mace.
"IRRITATION HAS LED TO CRITICAL MASS, DEPLOYING DRONES"
Deploy an entire swarm of nano-bots from my mechanical torso chassis! Have them attack anything with carbon-based flesh; Elaine and her team can go call the ghostbusters if they can't go and catch a ghost.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, AAAAAAAAAA! AAAAAAA!"
Spoiler: Translation (click to show/hide)
Run away with a sizable chunk of the dinosaur meat. And by run, I mean really run. Fast. Fast as ghostly possible.
Quote from: Person
I'm outta here!

7: Frank keeps reading from the old tome, and a small swarm of bats is summoned!

8: Mallos books it, leaving the hospital as fast as they can. They arrive in the parking lot just in time to see King Harlaus leave in the truck! Damn, that was the getaway vehicle!

7: The hospital head deploys a swarm of nanobots, which immediately go to work fighting the swarm of bats! The two swarms seem evenly matched for now!

4v7: Elaines team is unable to catch the ghost. Looks like going to call some professionals?

8v4: Mathel smashes through the tentacles! They break through, the swarm of bats being busy elsewhere!

8v8: They make a swing at Frank next, but he deflects the attack with his book! That's no ordinary tome...

Artemis heads back to the police station via their teleporter to make their report.

Pick up some decently weighted objects to use as throwing weapons like large rocks and whatnot. Stuff them in my pockets and enter college, doing my best to track down the trivia duo.

1: Mallos arrives back at the college, and decides to look for some heavy objects he might be able to use. He finds a huge, pointy looking boulder by stubbing his foot on it while going around a corner! OUCH! Mallos can now see the battle going on in the plaza.

Convince the kids to help me trough the power of Hip Hop rap. Then Offer the kids 15000 rupees to whoever sets enemy post in fire, killing him isn't needed but burning his hair is.
(The location is a college you know. I can only assume that means the students are a bit older than you're imagining. Eh, to some people an 18 year old is "still a kid" so whatever.)

2+3=5

ziizo busts out a hip hop rap to explain himself to the kids. They're attentive. This sort of thing doesn't usually happen. He then offers a reward to the first person to light Enemy post on fire! Only one person seems interesting in trying to do so. The guy takes out some matches and asks for a bit more direction. Mallos may need to do a little more convincing, or at least perhaps do some strategy talks?

Snipe Rauthendir with a kicked football! Then start finding high or heavily protected ground (like within the building) that the car wouldn't reach without crashing through the wall.
Extend beard armor to support injuries. Follow OceanSoul.
Get out of the car and Inflict Thrombolysis on Enemy Post

5: Rautherdir steps out of his car, the Zebra Dwarf Boa coiled around one of his arms. With a moment of focus, he stares down Enemy post intent on giving him the disease of Thrombolysis! Enemy post's injuries worsen as the blood clots in his body begin undergo lysis! The beard warrior will probably need special medical help to treat his injuries now.

3+2v4: OceanSoul retaliates with a kick, sending the hexagon covered ball careening towards the racer! The ball barely clips him, bouncing off of his left arm! He feels the skin welt up a little.

8: Enemy post chooses a different tactic, continuing to bolster his defenses via beard hair. Their hair keeps growing, and a makeshift cloak of rough beard hair covers their entire upper body, arms, and face. The armor gets a lot thicker too, so it should absorb more damage.

Guess I've waited long enough. Given that they actually have a kill, I'd rather not just make them stand still as a free kill. I'm just gonna hope they forgot.

GROW GRASS, GROW INTO HIM AND SLAY HIM.

Awesome Spd: 5=5
Merling Spd: 4-3=1

Awesome Aff: 5+3=8
Merling Spd: 6-3=3
Merling End: 4+2=6

Dr Awesome channels as much power into their staff as they can, trying to attack Merling indiscriminately all over his body!

He sees a variety of slashes open up across the elderly wizard! None of them are especially deadly individually, but he's bleeding quite a bit! That has gotta hurt!

Merling End: 4+2=6
Merling Aff: 6+3=9
Awesome End: 1-1=0

But Merling fights through the pain, and tells the grass embedded in his foe to kill him for good! There's no dodging this attack. He channels all of his power and fury into the orb! A stronger attack he couldn't make! The grass grows and spikes through every inch of Toaster's body! Every ounce of flesh and blood is sapped of moisture by the voracious plants, leaving only bone!

Doctor Awesome is dead!

Merling Luk: 5+1+1=7

The doctor's skeleton turns to dust, and collects into a point, forming a portal to the loot dimension it. Out of it pops a bronze aspis. Immediately upon equipping it, he feels hardier than ever. It is covered in strange runes. Merling feels a chilling power within that he can call on his foes.

Drop the halberd and run. Hopefully that wounded leg will stop him from coming after me. Oh, and duck. The shotgun pellets.
Dive into the ground and take a shot at Depf's legs.

Sparky Spd: 5+5-2(Leg damage)=8
Depf Spd: 6+1=7

Sparky Dex: 5+1=6
Depf Spd: 2+1=3
Depf End: 2+2=4

Despite his wounded leg, Sparky keeps up! Depf has yet to abandon his earthen armor, but he fires away anyway! This time his shotgun strikes true, tearing through the armor and gouging open Depf's left leg! Depf drops his weapon, losing the remainder of his earthen armor and begins to flee at a great pace! Unfortunately, Sparky is blocking off the only way out of here that isn't the hydra filled cave! He manages to slip past the hobbling invisible man nonetheless, and feels his strength start to return. Sparky's cape continues to patch up his leg. His shotgun also generates an orb, giving him some much needed defensive ability back.

Sophie only watches and observes the conflict from afar.

If I can do so while keeping us afloat, pull stone or earth from the swamp to expand the platform. If not, float back towards the obelisk a bit past the edge of the swamp, then land and use stone or earth to expand the platform.
Test out our new furniture, try and figure out what it does. More fortifications if I get the chance.
Use the couch with ruby?

Greeny Aff: 1+6=7

Greeny feels his control begin to slip, and the massive structure slowly begins to fall! He expends most of his effort just keeping it afloat, not moving it or reinforcing it. If he rolls poorly again, this thing won't stay afloat!

Grahm Aff: 2+3=5

The comfy looking chair beckons to Grahm, and he takes a seat, if only to reduce his urge to dance. Immediately upon being seating, he feels himself fall asleep. A strange sensation begins to pervade his very existence, and his spirit separates from his body.

His body in spirit form appears to be his original one, devoid of the modifications the couch made to him. Grahm looks down from above at Greeny's Flying Earthen Fortress. He feels a firm tether of sorts attaching him to his physical body, which is now surrounded by a translucent barrier. He know if he follows the tether he will return to it safely. The barrier should keep him protected until then. He notes that he is now holding a rather curious bow in his right hand, and tries to pull the "string" back. When he does, a long silvery arrow appears. It looks deadly, even to himself. He releases the string, firing the projectile away. Not bad. He also sees a pair of sharp looking spiritual knifes holstered at his side. Those could be handy.

The couch isn't ready yet. Hagrow takes some time to remember that there was a pretty thick forest to the southwest of the starting area. Maybe that's where the mantis is. There does seem to be another forest past the ravine as well though. Who knows, as this battlefield has yet to be fully explored. (This is essentially a 5x5 tile space. You've all only seen 6 tiles, so feel free to explore a bit more.)

Not Actually Flimsiest Wizard has spawned!

Not Luk: 5+3=8

Not Actually Flimsiest Wizard raises their waiver, hoping for something good. It turns into a rather curious pair of non prescription glasses. Each lens is shaped like a four leaf clover, and the frame is a stunning green. The Wizard takes in their surroundings, noting that they can see Sophie flying above them nearby. (These glasses are actually absurd. +4 Luk, what is going on with this generator today.)

Sawed-off it is. Get back to college after concealing my weapon beneath my clothes.

"Good choice. If you happen to find any more cash, you know where to come."

7: Mallos conceals the weapon as best as they can. It shouldn't be visible to anyone else, but they can still draw it quickly if needed. They start running back to the college after seeing Rautherdir speed past them. They'll arrive at the start of next turn.

steal NRDL money then ask the students for the location of a shed or a music room or an art classroom.

ziizo digs through NRDL's pockets, doubling his cash.

2: You try to ask for the locations of those rooms, but the blood on your clothes is quite offputting. Everyone is too scared to give you directions.

Drive through Enemy Post and OceanSoul
Make some nailbats for the both of us.
OceanSoul did not post an action, so I'm going to assume they help with the carpentry plan.

OceanSoul and Enemy post decide to postpone their game to team up. They don't have any building materials for their plan, so they start looking for some.

2+2:The two storm off and grab a wooden bench that was nearby. It even has nails in it already!

8+2+2: They have to pry it apart first, and do so with great speed and efficiency!

7+2+2: The two of them work together, and build a good looking pair of nail bats. Should be painful.

Finally, Rautherdir storms into the college with their engine roaring! They immediately drive towards the Trivia Duo!

7+2vs 9&7: OceanSoul barely gets out of the way, only taking a grazing hit that sends them rolling on the ground. They get a bunch of bruises for their trouble.

Enemy post doesn't get out of the way in time, and Rautherdir's vehicle smashes into him! His chest lights up with pain, and he feels quite a few things break. Those were probably his ribs. He is sent flying away, and lands on the ground mostly unharmed. He'll probably have trouble getting up.

Frank weeps. Then he promptly forgets about the dinosaur, and instead begins flipping through his "Eldritch Rituals for Dummies" manual, and tries an incantation.
While surrounded by a small army. Should work well.
Mathel snatches the creepy looking book from the crazy old man and reads the books title.
If the old man tries to resist, Mathel hits him with his shield.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Butcher dinosAAAAAAAAAAAAAur.
"MANY POTENTIAL CONFLICTS ARE ENGAGING, RESULTING IN MULTI-ANALYSIS ENGAGEMENT"
Command Elaine and her medical team to defend the dinosaur corpse from being butchered, it needs to be medically examined!. 420 will forcefully grab Frank's incantation book, eject it up in the air, than switch my arm into a mini gun and shoot a lot of holes into it.
Quote from: Person
Keep reporting the situation. Pull a weapon from briefcase to deal with this situation.

Frank: 10

PSYCHE-BOT 420: 9

AAAAAAAAAAA: 7

Mathel: 5

Dino Hunters: 5

Artemis: 4

Elaine&Team: 2

5: Left with no other options, Frank speed reads from an strange, old, tattered tome! They feel a strange presence, and a variety of ethereal tentacles rise out of the ground. They seem to be movingdefending him from assailants.

7v9: PSYCHE-BOT rushes at Frank, trying to  remove the book from his possession, but is pushed back by the tentacles!

10: Mallos raises their spears high, and charges at the dinosaur corpse, intent to butcher and cook it. They didn't imagine all those recipes while on the truck for nothing!

It is a slow task given the size of the creature and their lack of truly suitable tools, but they tear apart a vast amount of flesh! They used a bit too much force though, making some of the flesh useless.

4v4 Mathel tries to grab the book as well, but is deadlocked by the defensive tentacles.

9v3: The dino hunters are still celebrating, but charge the tentacles with their assorted weapons anyway! They damaging the writhing swarm considerably!

10: Artemis keeps reporting to the police. A squad car is on the way. Then, they dig through their briefcase, searching for a weapon. They pull out the perfect tool! It is a pistol much like those held by the gangsters.

2v5: Elaine and her medical team move to defend the valuable research specimen, but subduing a ghost made entirely of AAAAAAAAAAA is evidently outside their expertise, and they are left chasing the butcher in circles around the body of Sastrei.

"oh god, Harold! NOOOOOOO!"
mourn the death of Count Harold. Send his family some money too. Might not buy happiness, but it will at least ease the pain of their loss some.

7: You run over to the posthumously promoted count Harold's body, and mourn his death. Given your status as a King, you have a few options to address this situation. You prepare some monetary compensation. You may be able to make his family into nobility of some sort due to his valiant actions. If nothing else you could name him as a knight of yours.

They can choose, though The Shaggy Dog (either the 1959 or 2006 version, their choice) would play at one point or another. Figure out if the park has a sprinkler system, and return home. Ask Zura if they'd rather be some other animal; a lion, a panther, a bird, whichever. Then work on an transformation-immunization elixir that prevents the drinker from being transformed for about an hour after consumption.

7: Zura seems a bit confused by the prospect of changing form. He's still rather young. He says he thinks he might want to be a little bigger.

9: You brew the elixir you have in mind. It actually lasts a bit longer than an hour, by your estimates. You have 3 doses of it.

"Squeak! Squeak squeak! Squeak squeak squeak squeak!"
Spoiler: Translation (click to show/hide)
That.

9: Your wish is granted to the fullest extent. The group all return to their human forms, and feel the animal form they once held waiting patiently in the back of their mind. They should be able to transform into their human form or animal form with ease. The air in the room begins to dull. You have perhaps enough time for one more request.

"That was some pretty trippy stuff man. So like, what now?"

Name:Tylo
What are you?:A Pachycephalosaurus.
Gender:Male
Age:Adult
Appearance:A herbivorous dinosaur.
Personality:Not aggressive, but ready to headbutt threats.

Eat some grass in the vicinity of movie night.

Hopefully nobody objects to a new dinosaur. This one shouldn't cause so much trouble.

8: You wander to the park, and start eating grass. This is some good grass.

Roll To Dodge / Re: Wiki Wars Redux: Round 1, Turn 5: Oh Dear
« on: May 04, 2017, 04:35:40 pm »
Starting Area: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/President%27s_College,_Minuwangoda

Turn Order:  Ziizo, NRDL

Break my copy of young black brotha in two and stab NRDL with the pieces.
Tackle this breakdancing bastard to the ground and start head butting him.

7v1 ziizo metaphorically breaks open the cd case, then literally breaks the cd itself over their knee. The breakdancer then violently shoves the shards towards their foe's eyes. The book battler is still of balance from the last attack, and is apparently powerless to stop this one. The shards strike true. This is extremely painful for their target, and gets a lot of blood on their hands and clothes.

7-?(Blind, Extreme Pain)v5 NRDL flails wildly, trying and failing to tackle or grab their assailant. But they only grab the air, and fall to the floor.

6-3: NRDL dies from their mortal wound. Well, that was fast.

Their first new article and the first new article overall is... well.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breast_physics

(I couldn't make this sort of thing up if I tried. I probably should have asked what sex people wanted their characters to be beforehand, or just assigned at random. I based it on profile info where possible, but that was 2 out of 6 players. Ah well, mistakes were made.)

Take the deal. Put the first aid kit into the car and drive back towards the college.

4: Rautherdir takes the deal, exchanging their money for the kit.

9+2: They stuff the kit into the front seat, securing themself as well as their snake. Then they make a rather uneventful but speedy drive back towards the college. They'll pull into the north entrance at the start of next turn.

Proceed to purchase illegal firearms. Something small-arms and concealable, preferably.

6: "You're one of those Wiki Warriors eh? Well, I guess I could sell to ya. Don't tell anyone about this place though."

The man in a mask and hood holds out an arm, pulling open his coat to reveal a selection of firearms. You look for something easily concealable...

8: "You want concealment? How about this sawn-off shotgun? But if you want something more conventional, I've got this pistol as well. Whatever you pick, I'll throw in some spare ammo."

He shows you the goods.

Sawn-off Shotgun 2/2: 7500 rubies.
32 Revolver 5/5: 6000 rubies.

As is, you can only afford one of these items. You note that he is obviously armed, so robbing him may not be the best plan. Unless you can wheel one heck of a deal, you're only leaving with one firearm. That'd still be one more than everyone else has of course.

"Before you even ask, I only take cash."

Continue playing. Yell out loud, ""If you have any objections to our game whatsoever, speak now or forever hold your peace!"
Continue to play, using my hair tentacles to move my piece.
"Hey, Arts and Literature. I could use that piece. Thank you for suggesting this less destructive outlet for our duel. Those others seem to be nearing the same end as us, but much more painfully."
*Looking over to the airport battle*
"Who do you think will die first, the one with the books or the dancer?"
(Airport? Those two are inside the college. You can't see them from your location.)

OceanSoul lands on Entertainment. With their bonus to cartoons, they easily get it right.

Enemy Post lands on history again.

OceanSoul gets another chance to answer a science and nature question! It was a 50 50 decision in the end, and they just barely botch it.

Enemy post lands on entertainment again. The dice were not kind to them this turn. OceanSoul is gaining on them, and both have more than half the pieces needed to win. Enemy post's tentacle shenanigans are a bit unnerving though.

Scores:
P1: OceanSoul: Entertainment, Arts&Literature, Sports&Leisure
P2: Enemy Post: Entertainment, History, Science&Nature, Arts&Literature

Awesome Spd: 1=1
Merling Spd: 2-3=-1

Awesome Aff: 5+3=8

Dr awesome powers up the shield mode on their staff and tries to push Merling away from the grass with it. The shield simply phases through the other wizard, and Merling is able to run past them. Huh, guess it doesn't work that way.

Merling Aff: 6+3=9
Awesome End: 4-1

Merling channels power through the orb afterwards, firing a massive array of spiky arrows at the younger looking wizard. Before the attack, the Doctor's shield shrinks in size to only cover his body. The shield does block most of the attack, but a few strikes break through. All of them aim for the man's left and right legs, stabbing deeply and pinning one leg to the ground. There's quite a bit of blood.

PM my action. Speed hovel closer to Depf and shoot him point blank with my shotgun.
Quote from: wipeout1024
Auto: Get to safety.
He can't be far away, not with that leg injury. Strike low, sweeping the Halberd above the ground.

Sophie Spd: 6+1=7
Depf Spd: 4+1=5

Sparky Dex: 3+1=4
Depf Spd: 2+1=3
Depf End: 6+2=8

Sparky fires another shot at their foe from close range! This time they don't miss, and arcane pellets smash into the halberd holder's upper body. Although the impact sends a bunch of rock flying off, the attack doesn't seem to deal the fleshy bit inside any serious damage. At least his cape heals him a little bit.

Sophie safely flies off to the south again, not especially eager to fight someone she can't see.

Depf Str: 4+2+1-1=6
Depf Dex: 6+1=7
Sparky Spd: 5+5-2(Leg)=8

Depf retaliates with a sweeping attack, noting that their opponent was fool enough to shoot them at point blank! They feel a burst of air from near the area they strike as their opponent presumable leaps over their halberd. Well damn. They feel their strength continue to sap, and can no longer effectively wield the stone halberd. When they release it for a brief moment, they feel their strength returning. Perhaps the increase in strength temporarily overworks the muscles somehow? Whatever the case, they keep hold of it for now, if only to keep their barrier of earth active.

Float us within bombardment range of the forest. Fire into it with my crown if I can do that without crashing us.
Keep reinforcing, I guess. Maybe grow a vine ladder or something, in case we need to get down?
Fire the cannon into the swamp if we get close enough!

Greeny Spd: 1+4=5
Grahm Spd: 6+3=9
Hagrow Spd: 6+2=8

Greeny Aff: 6+6=12

Greeny hovers the fortress of earth into position with contemptuous ease. Seems they've gotten the hang of it. Feeling confident that he can keep it hovering, he decides to fire his crown into the forest after Hagrow does his thing.

Grahm Aff: 2+3=5

Grahm continues to reinforce the plant armor, growing makeshift wooden panels about the area. They don't complete many of them, as they decided to make a ladder for the ship. That goes much better in comparison.

Hagrow Dex: 5+1=6
Snake Spd: 4+3=7
Snake End: 6+2=8

Hagrow grins with anticipation, and readying the cannon. They aim at where they think the snake is, and the view from the air above the swamp lets them pinpoint that reasonably well. Part of them questions creating another negative loot item from such an opportunity, but then they immediately fire the cannon. If it kills them, it'll probably be in an awesome way. With a bang, the condensed bomb of lava flies toward the suspected location. The snake tries to avoid the attack, but the blast radius is far too large to do so. After the massive lava bomb goes off above the iron creature, they look on as the swamp continues to burn... and look on. And look on. Whether it be a matter of sheer luck or simply it being near the edge of the lava, the iron snake survives the experience. Though much of the body is melted and sloughed off, it readies the eye laser in defiance!

Snake Aff: 4-1=3
Snake Dex: 5+2=7
Hagrow Spd: 5+2=7

The laser is weaker than usual, and merely grazes his flesh. That it hit at all at this range is kind of impressive.

Greeny Aff: 1+6=7
Snake Spd: 1+3=4(I'm glad random.org can roll for me en mass. I may have 27 d6 in my possession but ahahah no way am I rolling them myself.)

For emphasis:

Snake End: 6+2=8
Snake End: 2+2=4
Snake End: 6+2=8
Snake End: 4+2=6
Snake End: 5+2=7

The first set of 9 bolts strike! Greeny notes that they seem to pierce the creature's armor somehow... That'll come in handy. They detonate, tearing the creature apart! However, it is still barely twitching and moving around. Let's see how the next set does.

The next set decidedly kills the snake. This is rather obvious. The next batch is still coming though.

There is nothing left of this once "majestic" creature. The sheer force of Greeny's attack has even sent the lava spreading further outward than it would otherwise. The team suspect that the resulting crater is permanent.

The mercurial iron snake has been defeated!

With the snake's death, Greeny sees a great light rise in the west near the spawn. They look closer, and see that the southeast pillar is now lit a bright red, and a pillar of light is rising into the sky near to it. Eventually, it impacts the barrier far above and doesn't go any further. Interesting... For the time being though, Greeny is far more interested in the immediate reward is he about to receive.

Greeny Luk: 2+6(Snake bonus)+5(Luk)+6(Kills)=19

As the green man returns his focus to keeping his earthen craft afloat, a small portal appears. Out of it, an equisite chair of hardened green glass armchair gently falls and lands on the platform. It looks surprisingly comfortable. There appears to be a manual of some sort... The text says the person that sits in it will fall asleep, but they can wake up and stand up whenever they choose to. Hm, probably not a good idea to sit in it and try to float this giant hunk of rock at the same time then. (Serious note: Yeah, I'll tell people if a positive luk item will kill them, even indirectly. Negative luk doesn't have that courtesy, but I re-roll lethal items if they're someone's first piece of loot. That's not fun for anyone when it happens.)

Spoiler: Players (click to show/hide)
Feel free to change the name of your transport craft if you like. I'm mostly adding this to help keep track of the upgrades and such easier. Greeny narrowly avoids getting a loot item worth 20 or above again. I shudder to imagine the results 20+ Loot will bring. Also that snake counts as a player kill for certain purposes.
