A Cimarron Tanker goes up in flames after a bit of shelling by the deck gun. Also the first time I noticed that smoke billows out the portholes which is down right cool.

Ukrainians are not good at sports!  They are artists!

(I have no evidence for these claims)

No, No, No.  The character must pursue sports, so he can become a famous athlete that moves to the US and plays for the NHL.

I don't understand the point.  Why not just mod Crysis?

Personally, I played through the game in vanilla, then installed the Complete mod.  I don't know about LURK, but Complete crippled my PC in any large map, so if you're only able to run vanilla at lowest settings, you may be in the same boat.  That said, the first few areas, using Complete, are beautiful.

Yeah, like bluephoenix said, at the apoapsis (the highest point in your orbit) do a prograde (use the autopilot, it will basically face you the way that your velocity vector is taking you--this is marked by the circle with a cross through it) burn and watch your Orbit MFD.  I find it helpful to change your projection mode to 'ship' in the Orbit MFD.  You can do this by pressing the PRJ button in the top right.  This will show the shape of your orbit.  To get a stable orbit, do the prograde burn until the eccentricity (labled Ecc in the MFD list) is 0.00 or less.

I can't offer any help on docking with the ISS.

Robsoie: Thank you again for your wealth of knowledge.  I have been taking a break from Orbiter but will be sure to use your tutorial when I try to make it to the Mars and/or the moon.

Other Games / Re: Post-Apocalyptic games with generated maps?

If you haven't, you should try Caves of Qud.  I am not sure but I think at least some of the maps are procedurally generated.  I could be completely wrong.  Either way, it's a very imaginative and engrossing post-apocalyptic / sci-fi rouguelike.

Creative Projects / Re: Cult - Updated First Post (02/05/11)
« on: March 01, 2011, 08:54:44 pm »
Cult will be mostly in first-person, will not prioritize fortress/city-building over other gameplay elements, and will (hopefully) be experienced as something like a mix between King's Quest and Dragon Age (with elements from any number of other genres thrown in) on massive amounts of steroids. I think a love of reading about things will probably be a common trait of future Cult players.

I am guessing that by 'first person' you mean, from the perspective of the protagonist and not 'first person perspective.'  Is that right?

Very good.  That's what I thought but I wanted to make sure.  Nice diagram, by the way.  Well, I'm going to give it another go.

I went through your tutorial, Robsoie.  It worked really well and I was able to get to the target within several kilometers, however, I wasn't spot on and since it was night I was kinda lost as to how to leave the descent and navigate to Ascension Island.  Before I could get my bearings and hit the engines, I was too low and falling too quickly.  Crashed into the ocean.

One question.  Do you recommend doing the retro burn on the final, and closest, orbit?  When exactly to do the burn wasn't clear to me, though it only really makes sense to do it on the closest orbit.
