What we really need though is a No True Scotsman Sandbox Game.

How in deep do you want to go?

Do you want to just make a simple game thats single player and uses some of your ideas in order to be an intro to your gameworld? RPGMaker

Do you want to do something with more interaction (but also complexity) and with potential for some multiplayer? Gamemaker, maybe Construct 2

Do you want 3d stuff without getting too nuts into having to do everyting yourself? Unity

Do you want full control? Insert Programming language with select libraries

Do you want full control AND want to make it super efficient with crazy graphics / custom shaders / lots of nutty stuff? C/C++ with hookups for OpenGL / DirectX and lots of time in the rabbit hole

Looks like its going on the final stretches of its kickstarter now.  Funded with two stretch goals, decently far from the third (so probably not going to hit unless it gets a surge of interest for some reason, whatever exactly the "improved combat depth" entails anyway I'm unsure of).

Week 41 holiday progress updated: Not much except some more messing around with AI action truncation and now I gotta find a dumb bug that makes my AI freak out when theres a wall in front of it instead of just choosing the next action properly.

Desert Bus - the game.  http://desertbus-game.org/

And in general, games are now also classified as art as well... at least in certain circumstances, to this thing: http://heartland.org/policy-documents/nea-fund-video-games-taxpayers%E2%80%99-money

I see the whole "resign without severance" thing, when combined along with the grand-jury get-off-without-trial thing more or less Ferguson trying to have their cake and eat it too.

Didn't want to try a police officer... but trying not to piss off the community (any more).  Sigh.  If someone isn't guilty... or in this case not even put thru to trial, they get all the benefits of society: work, or if they are forced to resign, whatever severance, etc.  If not (and I think he probably was in the wrong, to at least voluntary manslaughter), they go to trial, no blue wall bullshit.  Option A was picked, give him his damn severance (and anything he got from other sources doesn't count) and accept the shitstorm.

I woulnd't say straw men. It's less about misunderstanding the other's point, and more arguing which point in and out itself is more important or prevalent.
If there were a word for it I would have said something about anti strawmen, for portraying the people you do agree with in an overly positive light.

Wait... wouldn't an anti-strawman portray the people you disagree with in an overly positive light?

Hrmm, Civ Beyond Earth for 30% off.... I had skipped Civ V because the original release of it was meh and supposedly was 'fixed' by its expansions.  Question is... get Civ V full package, or skip it and get Beyond Earth?

They're calling for a Black Friday boycott, in which I will be taking part.
+1

Black Friday is nuts, I already boycott it.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buy_Nothing_Day

Week 40 updated: finally got the AI moving around proper except for the fact that its pretty dumb and cant even truncate actions properly so it wastes cycles bumping into walls.  Will get action truncation and condition testing next, and then aim to add a PURSUE behavior and an ATTACK behavior.
