Ryan, I seem to be unable to get into your PC to fix my init file.
I started playing just after the release of .31 and I played with the Mayday tileset till .31.18.
I just wanted to see what the default graphics were like and to be honest I rather like them.

I've decided to build an above ground fort and a year in it seems to be going fine.
My only problem is that my Dwarfs don't seem to want to get rid of the above ground remains.

Although I've only been playing for a while, I just realised you can designate a wall to be made out of all the same material, rather than designating it one at a time.
It used to take quite a while for large floors...

Lucky me, another siege! 48 Goblins, 7 Trolls and 48 Jabberers.
Fortunately they can't get in and I have plenty of resources. I think.

I don't think I was attacked until I had around 50 or 60 dwarfs and had about 300,000 wealth.

Since I've only been able to make Iron armour my small military force got heavily damaged taking out two ambushes. Fortunately my Legendary Dining Room seems to have stopped any bad mood.
However, as another Dwarf Caravan came into sight, a siege occured made up of about 15 Goblin Bowmen and a Jabberer, who then killed most of the Caravan, though I luckily didn't need anything.
A Giant then appeared who I hoped would hurt the Goblins, but they just used him as target practice and he died.
On a nice note, I have a new gold bed with a lovely engraving of a crossbowman killing a Goblin.

I first found out about it around a year ago on the xkcd forums. I had a look at it, got mightly confused, and so deleted it after a day or two.

Yay, first Goblin Ambush!
My 3 weapon traps along my exterior moat badly injured all 6 of them which resulted in one dying. In return a dwarf had his leg slightly injured, another suffered the near loss of an ear, but most importantly a stray kitten got hurt.

One of Dwarfs got ripped in two by a crocodile when chasing a Goblin snatcher, because I forgot to equip him with some of the armour I traded for.
I did get my revenge though by killing the 10 crocodiles on the map.

Well I'm building my first ever tower!
And a FB appeared. Luckily, it's in the bottom layer of a cavern I uncovered. I hope it stays there...
