Y'know, I find the online memorializing for the EVE player who died genuinely moving.

He was a big time EVE mover and shaker for Goonfleet, and he was also pretty well known on SA.  We'd talked a couple of times over the years, and I'm still feeling pretty hollowed out by this situation.

Vilerat was a longtime acquaintance of mine on the Something Awful forums and it is absolutely terrible that he died amidst such a senseless action.

As he mentioned above, since a lot of unpaid interns are basically used to do gruntwork and not taught anything, you probably won't be competitive with someone who has training.

Reading up on it, it sounds more like "journalism as usual" than outrageous fabrication.

No, he outright lied about many many things.  Journalists shouldn't do that even at their worst, and usually only bend the truth in stupid ways as par. 

Ah yes, Examiner.com, a site that lets almost anyone write for them (and asks you to do so at the end of every article!), and pays them per hit. 

You should really not just blind-link articles from them, especially when the site's own administration points out you'd have to be an idiot to take any of it seriously.

I have a copy of it, if you check the main page Toady himself has been having email problems though.

I still think that this would be a good idea, albeit handled by moderation rather than backend processes.  Either way, I've basically abandoned the suggestion forum because for the last 6 years it's been the same fifteen or so threads repeating endlessly.  No one wants to take the time to discuss where the development of the game should go, they just want to jump up and say "I want this!".
