I disagree, since the Elves died as well.

My church told me this would occur.
THE ENGRAVINGS WERE CORRECT!
The Wolf Man came down from the sky, and took all the dwarves up to the sky city, were they built a house and contracted miasma.
ITS ALL COMING TRUE
The others must be warned...

EDIT: Conveniently, shortly after typing this, one of my miners went randomly psychotic and killed 42 of my citizens with his pick.
This must surely be the will of deities...

So, 31.13 has an uplink with the forums, and if the guy who currently plays it writes something psychotic, it transfers to a random dwarf. In your case, a miner.

It isnt too easy - Its more realistic. Remember this is meant to be a fantasy sim, not a grinder. Having Ogres roaming the land makes no sense, but finding them in caves does. If anything, some of the enemies arent as aggressive as they should be (Wolves should jump for your upper body, not your legs, and other such things)

You can still die within seconds of starting, that does still occur. If anything, its more a matter of how you the player play the game.

I got a free silver sword - I picked up the sword, killed the shopkeeper, and now its mine.  ::)

In all seriousness though, i got a full Cardinal Leather outfit in exchange for a gold whip.

that's one way or you could just get runesmith turn traps work in adventure mode on, build a cage trap near a bronze colossus leave walk back as an adventurer get caught in one take the caged off your said adventurer and walk some miles away from the cage hopefully two Embark tiles away from the site has the bronze in near by or you might have to dump unwanted bodies in a town or woods until you get your self the bronze.

but making them playable also works.
I think ill just stick to the fast way...  :)

There's some tags you have to add to the raw entry that makes a race playable. [CIV_CONTROLLABLE] and [INDIV_CONTROLLABLE], I think.
I know that that applies to races within the Entities_Default RAW, but creatures such as these arent present in there, they seem to be in Creature_Standard...

It may work, im trying it this way to start with, for better or worse.
EDIT: It didnt seem to work.

Im interested to know - Ive heard of people playing as these creatures in adventure mode, and ive always wanted to be a Bronze Colossus for a bit, so, is it possible, and if so, how?

I was kicked in the head by a male human, shattering my skull. I had sensory nerve damage, i was blind, i had lost almost all motor function, i couldnt feel pain and i was bleeding, and somehow, one of my followers killed my assailant, and i lived. Then fell into a lake i couldnt see and drowned.
