HELMAROC:The WARTHOG raises its dirty snout as HELMAROC looses a bolt at its vitals. (Crossbow Vrs.14-2range+4aimed-3vitals= 9!Hit!) the hog squals with surprise and falls down stunned, with a bolt sticking out of it, its lung is peirced,and its spleen is pierced. Its eyes roll back into its head as it lies stunned 5 yards in front of you

Second 2

HELMAROC violently recocks his repeating crossbow, while the WARTHOG (Roll Vrs. HT 12= 17!fail!) continues lying on the ground, twitching its hind leg.

(helmaroc still has an action left to perform this second, such as shooting it again or just wailing on it with your crossbow or something.)

WAGON: at the wagon the journey turn sour, as their progress is hampered by a heavy rain that has turned the offroad area very muddy, and there are pools lying across parts of the road, your progress is slowed, and far in the distance on a hill something aproaches along the road coming towards you, but still quite far away.

THIKUT: You aim down the rabbit hole at a small shadow, when TIWUTHI yells out some expletives. The rabbit bolts deep into the cave and you are forced to take a poor shot (Crossbow13+6aimed-4range-7size=14!Miss!). The bolt buries itself into the ground and the rabbit hides deep in its burrow. THIKUT spins around to find herself alone in the woods with a strange dwarf sized stranger, Bonestreaked circles around him in case of trouble.

HELMAROC: you ballsily sneak dangerously close to the warthog while aiming your crossbow (sneak13 vrs Perception 14-4range = 11&15!, Sucess!) the WARTHOG continues burrowing and does not notice you (perhaps you would like to target vitals(-3)or face(-5) to enshure a kill? you are 5 yards from the pig and your aim bonus is +4)

WAGON: back at the wagon NEK wakes up and peeks his head out, the travel is uneventful as of yet, but the rains clouds are almost upon them.

Thikut applies bandages to Bonestreaked, huntingdog (Firs Aid Vrs. 11=10!Heals one hp) and having done the best she could, pats it on the head and catches up to the wagon.

The expedition descends down the many switchbacks, as some last minute refugees  abandon the capital, with their belongings on their backs, and merge with the group before they even reach leave shouting distance.

Morale is high, and progress is quick on the smoothed dwarven road, but storm clouds gather in the distance, Yet before then, there is still work to be done as they travel. The 2 hunters each attempt to set out earlier than the other to bring in some quality meat. The others travel with their eyes peeled for berries, herbs, and other edibles.

THIKUT: Bonestreaked tracks(Vrs.15=13!Sucess) Bonestreaked leads the way
OLIN: forages(survival Vrs. 5=9!Fail)Notices no food on the way
KED: forages(Vrs. 5=14!Fail)Looks for plump helmets on the surface
NEK: continues sleeping
ODDOM: forages(Vrs. 5=7!Fail)distracted by some potential berries, but they were poisonous
HELMCROC:Bloodhound tracks(Vrs.16=14!Sucess) Bloodhound picks up a scent

THIKUT, Trapper: Bonestreaked leads you through the feild of stumps, sniffing the ground. But it is not untill you enter the temperate woodland, thick with foliage, does bonestreaked stop. There is a small burrow in the ground under an old  twisted  maple tree, it is almost obscured by the orange fallen leaves, but you recognise it as a rabbit burrow and Bonestreaked has detected something in it.

HELMCROC, Hunter: The bloodhound picks up a scent, and begins to sneak when you hear a few snorts among  the stumps. You both sneak up to what you see is a large WARTHOG searching the stumps for hidden food. (Sneak Vrs. 13=8!Sucess) The dog stays back wagging its tail as you approach to within 10 yards (-4 range), it is a large animal, dangerous if you dont strike it down with your repeating crossbow. but it is just as likely to flee as to fight.

There are still some issues to be resolved, such as night watch, and expedition name.

(Fenrir your guy is jsut fine , and yes wealth is ok. input your charachter somehowwhenever you feel like or i will if you havent by next encounter after camping there is an opportunity there.)

(yay im backi was taken to visit family for christmas, there were gunshots and fireworks explosions so that was nice.)

Hey guysi went to a desolate foreign country with no internets (the savages!) ill be back in less than a week and i was lucky to find this computer and luckier to find the _ underscore key on this bizzare keyboard! , wish me luck on not dying over here.  sorry about not giving a heads up i left on short notice but ill be back!    Also you guys dont worry you can take more than 7 folks on the expediation (but beware , fate has a way of keeping more than 7 from arriving safely ... *dum dum DUUUM*)  

Ps. plz use your prayers/juju/pscycick powers to help keep these mosquitos away

*Thikut raims at the KOBOLD and her bolt strikes his left arm, breaking it and making the KOBOLD drop down stunned in pain, straight off the cliff face, he collides with an obstacle and blows apart.*

The kobolds left 2 bronze large knives and 2 bloody tunics.

*The group quickly gathers up the stolen gear, and pulls the wedge from the wheel to start the expedition rolling. A collective sigh of relief is shared as the wagon embarks on their journey, down the many switchbacks and towrds the distant horizon.*


(Crossbow13(+3 aim +1 Determined, -6 range)=8! Hit!) 4 damage to left arm
KOBOLD (Dodge 8 +2 defensive stance = 12 Fail) It is Broken! Kobold falls down stunned.

Combat second 4 and 5 and 6

Oddom crawls from below the wagon, lines up a shot and hurls the stone high...   The KOBOLD keeps running, but turns back to see his worst fear  behind him, a savage dog carreling down at him. He dumps the goods and sprints to the nearest switchback cliff, surely to climb to safety, but as he dashes for the cliff his left leg is battered by a large rock and he can only limp too slowly to escape the wardog.

KOBOLD turns to face the dog, and pulls its large knife desperatly in a reverse grip to fend off the dog. Bonestreaked reaches him and leaps straight for his throat, but the KOBOLD dodges sideways and back, while slashing with its knife along Bonestreaked's flank, drawing blood that splatters on the smoothed out road. Bonestreaked turns to face off the KOBOLD, While it cautiously backs up towards the cliff edge.

By this time Thikut can once again fire the crossbow

Oddom does not hesitate, and crawls out from under the wagon to hurl his stone at the remaining fleeing KOBOLD, (roll vrs DX10(-6 20yard range,+1 determined,+3 aimed)= 8! lucky hit!) (hit location = 13 left leg) (damage (thr+1 = 3 damage) In the left leg for 3 damage. It is Battered!

KOBOLD takes a wait maneuvre and the dog All out attacks: determined The Kobold retreating dodges and uses up fatuige reserve (Dodge8 (+3 retreating +2fatuige)= 12! Dodged!) his wait goes off and he slashes (Knife12 = 10! Hit!) for (thr-2=2 x1.5 = 3 slashing!) Bonestreaked is cut!. then KOBOLD all out defences and Bonestreaked evaluates the KOBOLD

Thikut stands,cocks and draws a bolt and loads the cocked crossbow by now.

Thikut fires the bolt (roll vrs crossbow 13(+1 braced, +3 aimed)= 4! Critical hit! Thikut deals (thr+4) 8 damage, 8 damage is dealth to (hit location = 11! Groin!) bolts are impaling(piercing) damage so it is doubled!.KOBOLD2 is run through! KOBOLD2 (roll vrs HT 10(-5 magor wound) =13! Knockdown and stunned! KOBOLD2 is at negative hp (roll vrs HT 10) = 11! Passes out.

*Thikut fires her bolt directly into the kneeling kobold's groin, the kobold lets out a short high pitched squeek before falling backward clutching its groin and passing out in a rapidly growing pool of blood* Thikut begins reloading as Bonestreaked quickly gains on the fleeing other kobold.*

*The KOBOLD2 under the WAGON slashes violently at bonestreaked (Roll vrs Knife 12 at -2 (kneeling!)=13! Failure).

Bonestreaked growls and snaps at KOBOLD2 but obeys its master's order and turns to chase KOBOLD.

KOBOLD makes it another 4 yards down the switchback and is nearly to the turn, he is 16 yards from the wagon.

Always ready for anything, Thikut, drops prone to get a clear shot at KOBOLD2 and aims the crossbow straight at it. (if you fire next turn you get +5 for aiming and bracing, and -1 for range (3yards))

Oddom picks at the road, freeing a cracked cobblestone and readying it it one hand, it is about the size of a skull.

The rest of the dwarves jump back from the wagon, to protect their feet from any slashes from KOBOLD2*


(Hey helmaroc, just pick a character noone has taken yet or make your own. If you give me permission to use your guy ill have him do stuff if you dont post right away. so its not problem if you cant post often i only get like 1 in anyways a day if im not busy.)

*Oddom ducks his head under the wagon and cowers next to the wagon wheel, but there is another KOBOLD2 there, 2 yards away under the other end of the WAGON. Oddom calls for help from his cat, but only a distant meow is heard. The KOBOLD2 under the WAGON yelps in surprise and pulls a large knife and menaces Oddom with it. Bonesteaked, the huntingdog notices the commotion and ducks under the WAGON, interposing himself between the kobold and Oddom. The rest of the dwarves stand slackjawed at the sudden appearance of enemies, one second has passed and the KOBOLD with the loot makes it further down the switchback.*


(those sneaky kobolds attacked during finals week! dont worry folks no pressure. Also Thikut i forgot to answer your question about bolts, you start off with 20 metal ones for free, and they are recoverable so i wouldent worry about it, but more are 2$ each or you can get 20 wooden or bone ones for 2$ for 20)

*At Oddom's call, the rest of the dwarves walk over to the back of the wagon and finish loading up their belongings, During this time,a theiving KOBOLD is revealed by Ked's cat's hissing. The KOBOLD runs for it,and the KOBLOD runs out into plain view past the wagon, he begins running down the switchbacks and the cat runs under the wagon to safety.the wardog is sniffing about in the wrong direction. The KOBOLD seems encumbered by the loot he is making away with, and only makes it 8 yards away from the dwarves* Protect your horde form theiving filth!

Options: A:chase after the KOBOLD, his move is 4, and most of your moves are 4 thats 4 yards per second.
         B: if you have a hunting dog you can order the attack!
        C: if you have a cat you can order the attack! but it wont work
         D you can flee! the kobold is making away with what appears to be at least 6 bottles and a tent.
         E:Hide! better be carefull where there's one kobold theres many.

New scene: Switchbacks overlooking the forest of stumps, a short ways away from the trade depot.
Description: The road from the trade depot leads to THE WAGON, the road continues down at least a dozen switchbacks before getting lost amid the forest a great distance away. THE WAGON has 2 oxen at its head, and it rests on a perilous slope, a simple wedge keeps the wagon from embarking. NEK sleeps inside. The rest of the expedition remains by the trade depot at the moment and  even the mad dwarf's babbling has since ceased.

    KED, Miner: *The trade depot may contain many valubles inside its bins, it would be a prime target for an unscrupulous pilferer. (Roll vrs Greed 12= 11! Sucess) The temptation remains but caution wins out this time.*

    Bonestreaked, Huntingdog: (Roll vrs Per.8= 10! Failure) *Bonestreaked freezes for a moment, as if suspicious of some distant noise, then returns to wagging its tail.*

    NEK, Fisher: (Roll vrs Per.10 at -4 (asleep!)= 16! FAIL *Nek continues sleeping, warm against the bitter winter wind outside.*

*THE WAGON is mostly loaded, and awaits only Oddom's command before embarking.It is Winter now, but Spring will arrive soon, The journey should take about a week assuming good weather, Zagithid Sholkiknoksam Neshast awaits!.*

(Thikut, once you get going your dog can roll vrs. tracking to locate an animal and then a crossbow roll at -4 will bag you a small animal worth 2 meat meals (21 meals = one weeks worth of food), others can forage as they walk (Roll vrs. Survival or Per.-5) for one plant meal.)

THE ADMINISTRATOR: "thank you Oddom, I wish you all good luck, i will have some merchants sending carrying supplies arrive before winter sets in. " *THE ADMINISTRATOR turns to adress the rabble loitering about the trade depot "As for the rest of you. break's over!, if your quotas fall behind again i will not hesitate to inform the guard...Except you OLD COOT, you can take your time, i will relish seeing you hammered when those swords fail to arrive in the coffers!"

*The gathered dwarves grumble and shuffle back into the mountainside,THE ADMINISTRATOR among them, OLD COOT waits for everyone else to leave before heading in,leaving his unfishied mug next to his rocking chair. he moves at a snails pace.*

(Thikut, if you want a smart dog *POOF* it is now smart. It knows not only "fetch, attack, sit, find, heel, track (skill 15)" but you can nearly speak to it., also being a dwarf you get +1 HT and -1 Move. )

Take the long route!, past the human town 40 miles from the riverford, ye'd be wise ta heed me in this, that rascal 'ould probably as big as a ox by now!

THE ADMINISTRATOR picks up the next parchments from the crate, and presses it into Ked's arms for him to peruse. It reads "Zagithid Sholkiknoksam Neshast, Many trees, much vegetation, creek, temperate climate."t

OLD COOT: "Devil Rock? You'd send em to be ravaged by the timberwolves and worse that stalk that forest. Ye'r a callous dog Etembur, y'oud send em straight over a cliff if it lessened y'er paperwork. ...I heard story, in fact, of a devious kobold, chased down that way, and rather than be run-through than flee into those sinister woods. (there seems to be some interest in folks creating their own characters so this should help, it's is my translation of the skills . Use 50 points and up to -25 points of disadvantages. The costs are in the PDF, for example being dead broke is a -25pt disadvantage and being comfortable (2000$ - 300$ = 1700$) is a 10 point advantage.
