Roll To Dodge / Re: Deviation-22 (Sci-Fi RTD) Ch. 1, Don't psy angry.
« on: March 15, 2011, 11:29:59 pm »
"Damn it!" Dom growled, putting away the carbine. It wasn't doing any good here, and she was sure her pistol wasn't going to do any better. That left two options: jump on the mech, pry open the cockpit, and yank the bastard out with her bare hands, or try psionics. She wasn't nearly as skilled as the Praetor, but she might have the advantage of surprise. What should I do...? She wasn't sure she could get through the shield if she tried the first option. All right, something else then.

She thought back to orientation. Telekinesis was just one of the few things she had been shown; there was the possibility of trying to cut the walker down or just hit it as hard as she could with everything she had. Its leg was already injured, so knocking it over seemed to be the better choice, and she gathered her mental energy. "All right you big bastard, you're going down!" she growled as she unleashed it.

Going for a Slam with 20Kn, 5' radius, centered on the bio-walker's torso. And who's asking for nubile NPCs anyway?

Dom turned her attention away from the ceiling and back to the walker itself, now charging. Hell, maybe I should just trying jumping on it and seeing if I can't haul the bastard out. Probably not a good idea, actually. Instead she tried the acid again while falling back, to prevent getting trampled.

Damn, lol. First time I got killed in an RTD.

31234
Quickly say a prayer to Nex for the fallen ally - might as well take what I can get - then drop the bow and dash over to fight the swamp troll, yelling "for the glory of Nex!" That kill is MINE!

Sorry, didn't realize all of you had posted. I was waiting on somebody, although now I'm not sure who I thought it was. -.-;

Spoiler: INITIATIVE (click to show/hide)

PIERRE Dé GRASSE

(5 vs 1; Minor Success, 1d6; 5 damage) FRENCH RAEG. You take your hat back from Wymar and rush Merman 8, impaling it in the stomach with your rapier, then kicking it back into the stone rails next to the fortune teller. It screeches in pain as its spine slams into the rock.

MALLEUS RAULAT

You're not finished with these monsters yet. (RT: Merman 8. 4 vs 3; Minor Success, 1d4; 3 and kill) Pushing past Pierre, you bring your ace down in a heavy overhead blow, striking the merman in the forehead. It takes you a few moments to pull your axe free. It's safe to say that the merman's not going to be getting back up from that. Ever.

WYMAR SANE

You huddle down and raise your bastard sword in a defensive position. You're not going to be hit at all if you can help it. (Minor Success; +1 to defense this turn)

MARCUS RAUST

You move to strike down Merman 2. (4 vs 4-2; Major Success, 2d4; 5 and kill) Really, it's a mercy kill. Monsters need to be destroyed, anyway, and you're just putting this one out of its misery by decapitating it.

GENERAL

This battle has ended, although not without injury. The party is halfway across the bridge, although it's hard to see much of the road beyond it as it goes through a small forest.

Spoiler: HP/MP (click to show/hide)

"Shit. Fuckin' thing..." Dom mumbled, shaking the carbine. It felt like there was more acid in the tank, it just wasn't getting through. Damn thing's shaking it off, too. There's gotta be something I can do here. She looked up towards the ceiling. Maybe there would be a loose i-beam or something that would require just the slightest nudge to fall...

31237
No one, just thought I'd offer an observation. And I'm trying to move Dom into the psionic role myself anyway, so... you can completely disregard me. ^^

31238
Hmm, a bit OT but if you don't mind a bit of advice (@Powder Miner), Trol and I already kinda got the frontline fighter/really strong thing locked down. Given your profession, I'd recommend pumping Willpower and Intelligence instead and being a powerful Psionic-type since we don't really have one in the party. I don't mean it as a criticism or anything, just throwing in my two cents. :D

31239
"Come on!" Dom yelled, continuing to spray the bio-walker down with acid. It seemed to be effective enough and she didn't have any other plans.

31240
Uh... yeah, OK. Let's put it this way, it's a little awkward but if that's how it happens that's how it happens, although it isn't likely. Dom's probably more creeped out by Taric than anything. Guy doesn't even panic when falling three stories and uses porn mags as a weapon. o.O

"Heads up motherfucker!" Dom yelled, firing the carbine at the bio-walker to get its attention. Here's hoping I can evade its weapons...

31244
That would get all kinds of awkward, I think.
