Yep this is DF, learn to Embrace bugs as Features, and just add some weird story-ised reason & all is good.

I call them Quid tbh plural and singular,

Seeing as I have never talked about currency on the Forums, just to my mate who also plays DF, that might be a bit hard :p

Quid's the best anyway, and fyi it's a slang word for Pound, which is the British Currency, not just a random thing.

Everyone knows that, don't they? I suppose I'm probably a bit biased, but I figured even Americans knew about Quid?

Well the guy above me seemed to think it was just weird so I enlightened him :)

Don't see any reason why Americans would know British Slang to be honest.

I solved the problem by limiting the flow to the Waterfall, & occasionally increasing it. Works well, sort of.

I'll drain the pool & put it another Z Level down see if that helps, would I still get mist though?

Discovered another problem, the pump that sprays the water back in can't be turned off, just the water flow from the brook. That said with just the pump running there's no leak :o

Hey All,

In my new Fortress in .16 I created a pair of waterfalls which create mist in my meeting area & hospital to keep everyone clean & happy. They both drain into the same pool, which has a pump stack, which then brings the water back to the top with some going back into the waterfall (the water flow from the brook wasn't very good) and some back into the brook.

The problem is, that in my dining hall, but not hospital, there's is a covering of 1/7 water over all the tiles:


I don't think it's over flowing because the pool underneath isn't full up, though the tile underneath the waterfall is 7/7, but that's been like that from the start & it's only recently starting to fill.

I'm worried that this might be more than mere splashes & may flood my fortress (I can switch it off, but I'd rather not).

I like the idea of the Entrance hall that acts like a huge lift :)

Ofcourse a secondary entrance will be needed for day to day access.

This is your problem. (At least, I think it is. I'm not sure if it applies in 40d) Laying off hero dwarves gives them a VERY strong unhappy thought. Almost/just as bad as one of their best friends dying.

Nope, the other one had an unhappy thought that he was retired but it didn't last very long, cog had nothing (Well, nothing connected to that anyway).
