England is the southern part, possibly with the addition of Wales and Cornwall, Britain is + Scotland.

Oh I see.

That migrant slaughterfest is the worst thing that I have ever experienced.  However, I make up for it in the summer summary. Coming soon!

Soon, or not soon? It would be preferable if you updated soon.
Skip my turn, kthxbai.

Sure.

The 1600's was actually the yime period I was going for. And I wasn't only doing North America empires; I just happened to have a map of it.

Then Britain in this mod should technically be England, seeing as the UK didn't exist.

I always figured they were completely interchangeable. Oh, well, I do like England better. I will change it.

But Dura, that would be unfair! Instead of my Dancing Dagger Jr. Having about 6/21 chance of winning, if I have 2 of them, it's 1/2 chance of winning!

Wouldn't you have a 12/42 chance if everyone was in twice? Which is equal to 6/21? I am confused by your logic.

I have Britain, Spain, Portugal, France, and the Indians. Was there anyone else in N.A. (Or S.A.) at the time?

Btw, depending on what time period you're thinking of, you forgot about the Dutch (Netherlands). They owned New York/New Jersey for a while, 'til the bastards in Britain came along. If you want some more diversity, you could add that in...

Also, if you have Iceland on that map, that was owned by Norway. You could probably pretend that they owned Greenland, too :P.

I knew I was forgetting someone, I just could not figure out who.
If you're going to have the Dutch, then you'd need to have the Swedes too (the area around Delaware was owned by Sweden for a few years).

But, if you'd have them, the time period would be mid 1600's.

Also, since the map is just of North America, the Portuguese would not be there (only Brazil).

The 1600's was actually the yime period I was going for. And I wasn't only doing North America empires; I just happened to have a map of it.
It looks to me that you have to add the Aztecs in, along with the Métis.

The Aztecs would be a highly agressive, but primative civilization, who'll send tons of warriors armed with clubs and similar weaponry.

The Métis would be a combination of the European and Native American civilizations, and would prefer to trade rather than attack. They would be armed with traditional Native American weaponry, ride horses, but most importantly, they can use firearms.

Weren't the Aztecs and them gone long before anyone was in the Americas but Spain? I thought they were.

EDIT: Swedes and Dutch added.

Ah-hahahaha! I figured it out! When you're 1 z-level above the water/magma and the dwarves cancel the dig, just redesignate the area and they'll dig it out.

If you designate stone that has been cancelled already, it will always be dug out.

Ah, yes, that's what I thought. You need 'B' and so forth when directly specifying the tile, not just B.

[CREATURE_TILE:'B'][COLOR:7:0:1]
[CREATURE_TILE:'S'][COLOR:7:0:1]
[CREATURE_TILE:'P'][COLOR:7:0:1]
[CREATURE_TILE:'F'][COLOR:7:0:1]
[CREATURE_TILE:'N'][COLOR:7:0:1]

Yes, that did it. They are working now.

What tile and color tags are you using?
For the British;
[CREATURE_TILE:B][COLOR:7:0:1]
and Spain;
[CREATURE_TILE:S][COLOR:7:0:1]
Portugal;
[CREATURE_TILE:P][COLOR:7:0:1]
France;
[CREATURE_TILE:F][COLOR:7:0:1]
and Native Americans;
[CREATURE_TILE:N][COLOR:7:0:1]
(I like them the same color)

It's spelt Spaniard, so you know.

Right, that is how I meant to spell it. Fixed it.

you are using a tile set with no tile for the letter you used for them.

I am? I switched to the standard curses_square_16x16 tileset, and it still displayed the same.

How do I get my dwarves to ignore the warm/damp stone, and continue digging? I'm mining out an area 1 z-level above a magma duct I dug out and filled with magma, and the dwarves are continually undesignating this area. I need it dug out to build more magma forges and smelters.

This is the topic of the whole thread.

DF Suggestions / Re: Food and Dwarves (Not Farming)
« on: September 18, 2010, 10:02:06 am »
Hello

I looked in the search function and did not find anything like this, so here is my suggestion.

Food Allergies:

I think that some dwarves should have some food allergies, ranging from a mild rash from eating whip vine flour to going into a deadly shock from hauling rope reeds products. Perhaps no dwarves have an allergy to underground plants. One could kill nobles this way. If a religious leader had a bad allergy it could cause..

Isn't this already represented by preferences in food. Just think that dwarves won't aet food they're allergic to unless they have to.

I don't really see how this would make for a more enjoyable game.

Theres a clear difference between me, not liking something, and me dieing if I eat it. Heck it might make sense to not tell the player if a dwarf is allergic, until they are randomly hospitalized.

I think you meant; something not being my favorite food, and me dieing if I eat it.

If this mod will allow you to defend your family plantation against hordes of marauding "Native Americans", then I want.

That's the kind of thing that happened back then, so yes.

EDIT: I ave a rough rendition of the main empires in North America at the time, am I forgetting anything? I have Britain, Spain, Portugal, France, and the Indians. Was there anyone else in N.A. (Or S.A.) at the time?

EDIT2: Oh look, the people I added! But why are the black squares like that?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I got a dwarven thief in a migration wave. Couldn't turn on any labors. She makes a great broker. Think about it.

heheh
